When I was little, my younger sister and I would pretend like I was the doctor and she was getting ready to have a baby. My sister would go to check ups and I would give her an "ultrasound" and eventually she would birth the baby, a doll put under her shirt, and she would come back with her doll for a postpartum checkup. I’m a birth and postpartum doula who has worked with infants, young children, and their families for over 20 years. I received my birth doula training through DONA International and my postpartum training and certification through ProDoula. I also have a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Development, all clearances, and am CPR certified. My path to becoming a doula is a recent one, however I’ve always had a passion for learning about pregnancy, childbirth and newborn care. For much of my career, I have focused on being a preschool teacher in addition to providing private childcare for families in the area. My calling to birth work began after the home birth of my first baby in 2021. Although it wasn’t the right season to dive in at that time, everything shifted in 2023 when the Lord led me into the field of Nursing.
