This is my first pregnancy, I am currently 20 weeks, and I am planning to have an unmedicated Hospital Birth at Northwest Medical Center in Tucson. My OBGYN is Genesis OBGYN Northwest. I am hoping to have a Doula to work with before my birth, during labor, and postpartum if needed. I am looking for a doula who will help me build a birth plan. I am also looking for a doula who will advocate hard for me and my preferences during labor (to the care team) to ensure my birth plan is followed, if at all possible, so I am able to focus solely on my birth. I am overall just looking for someone I can trust, and feel safe with throughout the process, and who will support my wants and needs, while allowing my husband to focus on me and also instruct him as needed throughout the process. I have Tricare West insurance, so looking for someone who is covered by that as well.

I’m a second-time mom, currently 24 weeks pregnant, and I’m looking to hire a doula to help support my husband and me through our second pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum experience. Having our first baby at Banner Desert. I am the oldest of 5 with an RN mother who was a doula and had home births I attended. My husband has little to no experience with birth/babies etc and is pretty nervous. I have a very thorough understanding of expecting the unexpected and would like someone who can support me and be very hands on during delivery. My biggest concern is my husband not understanding what is going on and not being able to advocate for everything I want/need. I am planning on having a hospital birth with an epidural and would like to wait as long as possible before going to the hospital. I am pro-science but believe birthing mothers know what is best for their bodies and would like minimal monitoring and interventions. I am very in tune with my body and would like someone who can amplify my voice. My baby will be receiving all vaccines, a circumcision, and vit K, but I prefer no eye antibiotic. I am pro delayed cord clamping if my baby comes earlier than expected, but if baby is full term I have no preference.

My apologies for the due date but I literally just found out about the importance of having a Doula. My baby's mom is having my son on October 1, and I need an African-American Doula to help her through the process in regards to making sure that she doesn't take shots or pills that could harm the baby, As well as preventing any practices that might not be applicable or harmful to an African-American baby.. I definitely need someone to help with the process of birth and making sure that everything is done accordingly..

I have a personal preference to avoid medications and pills whenever medically appropriate. I would like to prioritize nutrition, food-based approaches, lifestyle changes, and pregnancy-safe herbs or supplements when appropriate. I would like my provider to discuss natural alternatives with me when they are considered safe and effective. I understand that “natural” does not always mean safe during pregnancy, and I am willing to follow professional guidance regarding which foods, herbs, vitamins, and supplements are appropriate. If medication or medical intervention becomes necessary for my safety or my baby’s safety, I want my provider to explain the reason, risks, benefits, and alternatives whenever possible. I am also interested in a low-intervention home birth with appropriate prenatal monitoring, newborn care, postpartum care, and a clear emergency/hospital-transfer plan.
