Iyonia was such a blessing as my doula. She was so informative, made us feel comfortable and confident about going into labor with a plan (and a plan b, c , d… and so on) to have the labor experience me and my husband wanted while also managing our expectations (very important)! I felt alone and lost during the birth of my first born. I felt like we were isolated and kind of “rushed” through the experience. But Iyonia made sure I, (and my support team) knew my RIGHTS as a patient, the birthing options available to us, and a plan to avoid the things that I was unhappy about with my first birth. You don’t know what you don’t know, so she made sure we knew what ask for. One experience I will always hold close to my heart was after my husband went to be with the baby after my c-section, she stayed with me, held my hand and continued to give me encouraging words at a time when emotions (and hormones) were about to get the best of me! I will always appreciate her for that. It made a huge difference.

I cannot say enough good things about Jaime and her company. Working with Jaime and her doulas (Michelle) was an absolute privilege. Jaime is kind, capable, thoughtful, reliable, and loving as is Michelle. They both fit right into our family seamlessly and managed our household better than my spouse or I can! My daughters (2.5 and 4.5) and all of us felt completely at ease and loved being with them. Jaime took us on last minute and then went above and beyond supporting all of us so that I could heal and sort out an exceptionally hard baby to nurse. She is very knowledgeable, offering both book and experience insight, and easy to get on with. I feel so incredibly lucky that we were able to work with her. Melissa Wiltsey was our night doula for both of our sons, and we cannot recommend her enough. The fact that we brought her back for our second baby probably says it best. She knows what she is doing. From the first night home, she had a calm that settled the whole house. She was a huge help with breastfeeding, full of practical advice that actually worked, and she had a real gift for soothing a fussy newborn at 2 a.m. while we finally got some sleep. What stuck with us most was how much she clearly cared about our boys, not just the job. Those early weeks are a blur for most new parents, and Melissa was the reason ours felt manageable. If you are looking for a night doula, you will be in very good hands with her.

While she didn't end up needing to be there at the birth (baby came on the due date!), Edoukou attended two prenatal meetings. She was particularly helpful with my birth preferences document--she helped me edit it down and gave me (hugely helpful) tips about how to talk with my providers in advance of the birth. She also helped me plan out my post-partum month, which is a specialty of hers. Definitely recommend!
