Hello, Bonjour :) I am Sandra, a trained Doula (DONA International), and a mother of a 3-year-old. Originally from France, I am currently based in NYC, Manhattan. I gave birth in NYC and understand what your journey is. I would love to support you with positive energy in it. I have always been amazed by the power of women: We possess the Body Intelligence and Energy to create life inside ourselves and bring it into the world!! I am dedicated to providing emotional, physical, and informational support to you during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period.
New York, New York
My experience as a Doula dates back to when I supported family and friends, unknowingly providing post-partum and supportive care. I've worked in the healthcare field for 15 (+) years at various hospitals & clinics, specifically in women's reproductive health. Having worked in both the private & public sectors of healthcare, I realized I wanted to not only support but advocate for those who could not speak out for themselves, all while being a source to women that needed resources. I didn't realize that all of this would bring me full circle to my purpose of becoming a doula! I've worked with women and families, providing evidence-based support for labor, post-partum, mental, & spiritual needs. During the 4th trimester (postpartum) Not only will I support and offer education as to what to expect for yourself during this physically and emotional time but I will also help you understand your newborn developments and milestones. No pregnancy or postpartum is ever the same; I encounter each one with an open mind & and heart, giving you the support that I know will put your mind at ease.

My best friend asked me to be "her doula" 17 years ago. I flew to LA and planned to be there for 10 days in hopes the baby would come in that window of time. I sang and whispered into her belly and Introduced myself to her baby. We had quite a time during the labor as her midwives guided her through the experience. She was incredible! She chose a home birth which ended at the hospital. She gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Witnessing the birth was transcendent and inspiring! When I flew back to NYC, I vowed that when our youngest daughter was in college, I would become a Doula. I grew up in Minnesota. I graduated with a BFA from the acting program at the University of North Carolina School of the Performing Arts. I have a background in dance, singing, yoga and martial arts. I was an American Council of Exercise certified personal trainer for 12 years. When I became pregnant, becoming a certified prenatal trainer was ideal. I especially loved working with all my pregnant clients. Having an online health and wellness business with Arbonne International has been another passion of mine. Over the years, I have coached a team on how to build their own online businesses and shared this opportunity in a public speaking setting for large groups. I teach my clients the benefits of aligning with a vegan brand they can trust and the value of choosing a B corporation, and living a more green lifestyle. I am a certified Birth Doula and Postpartum Doula with the International Doula Institute. I am also certified as a Perinatal Nutrition Educator, Birth Educator and Lactation Counselor. I hold a certification in Diversity Equity and Inclusion. I am also first aid, AED/CPR certified for pediatric and adults through the Red cross. Being present, and relying on my emotional intelligence, knowledge and discernment, helps me to navigate how to best listen and anticipate a person's needs. I embody joyful humor as my way to serve others. I bring warm energy, passion and authenticity to the people I spend time with. I'm a lifelong student who loves to learn, grow and collaborate. I believe these qualities, as a birth team member, contribute to the overall outcome and experience of all involved. I live in Harlem with my husband. We have two daughters. Hobbies: singing in choir, biking, and lifting weights. I also enjoy baking, reading and traveling. I love conversations over dinner with my husband and friends, and going to the theater and jazz clubs. Walking in nature each day is key to living in my joy, and of course, fitting as many plants and flowers into our home as humanly possible!
“Julia came into our lives at a time when things felt incredibly overwhelming and difficult, and she brought so much wisdom, light, compassion and flow to the situation. She taught me so much about newborn care, but also about how to better care for myself during this intense period. I’m so grateful that both my baby and I were able to benefit from all her kindness and expertise. And her leg massages = heaven!”

As a first generation Latina, I understand the hustle of proving we could do it all on our own. Since becoming a mother, I quickly realized that this new life isn’t meant to be done alone. As an advocate for postpartum support, my core foundation is to hold space, advocate for your needs and guide you to thrive into parenthood. My biggest invitation is to honor the traditional ways for your postpartum healing.
Vanessa is so helpful, thorough and gentle. If I have any questions, concerns or an overall issue about anything she always brings her empathic skills to helping me understand. I HIGHLY recommend her services! You will not be disappointed.

I am a DONA-certified, Carrot Fertility-approved postpartum doula servicing Manhattan and Brooklyn, with a passion for supporting families during the transformative postpartum period. I am infant CPR, and first-aid certified. My mission is to provide guidance, care, and reassurance as you navigate the joys and challenges that come with welcoming a new member into your family.
Mia became a part of our family shortly after the birth of our second child. Having hired an overnight doula for our first, we knew this time around, with two little ones under two, we’d need even more support. From the moment Mia arrived, she was extraordinary. She intuitively understood the rhythm of our home and our unique challenges. I trusted her completely with my newborn, which allowed me to give my toddler the attention she needed. Mia provided unwavering emotional support and was remarkably proactive, anticipating our needs before we could voice them. She brought calm and clarity during a time when I often felt overwhelmed, almost like the part of my brain that wasn’t functioning in the haze of postpartum. Whether it was preparing nourishing snacks, offering thoughtful breastfeeding support, or simply being a grounding presence, Mia was indispensable. Her presence during those intense early weeks was nothing short of a gift. I could not recommend Mia more highly. - Aisling S.

Hello there! I'm Isha, your dedicated elite certified newborn care specialist, postpartum doula, and birth doula with over a decade of experience helping families navigate the beautiful chaos of new parenthood. What parents often call my "baby whisperer" abilities are simply the result of 10 years spent learning the subtle language of newborns and creating calm in what can feel like the eye of a hurricane. When I'm not supporting growing families, you can find me performing improv and comedy on stages across New York City, channeling my creative energy into laughter and storytelling. And yes, if you catch me making Star Trek references during our time together, that's just the Trekkie in me coming out—boldly going where many exhausted parents have gone before, but with a touch of humor and expertise to light the way.

I usually say I accidentally fell into the field of birth work, but I guess that's not totally true. After spending a decade abroad running a foster home/cardiac surgery program for babies with complex congenital heart defects and maternal/fetal health programs for at-risk indigenous families, I unexpectedly found myself stuck in New York City in early 2020, waiting out this little bug called "Covid-19" that was shutting borders all around the world... I certified as a birth & postpartum doula in the USA in 2020, to be with my best friend for the birth of her first child in the midst of Covid protocols. I never could have imagined how much I would fall in love with birthwork here in the United States and it is the greatest honor to walk alongside families as they grow and change (in whatever capacity!), providing unbiased & judgment-free support, advocacy, guidance, and care during such intimate and pivotal moments.

Hello, my name is Sela (say-la) and I’m a NY-based doula, certified with the National Black Doula Association ( https://www.blackdoulas.org/ ). A doula is a trained professional that provides emotional and physical support to pregnant/postpartum women and their partners. I am an advocate, coach, and resource for the community. I am also a certified lactation support counselor through Birth Day Presence ( https://birthdaypresence.com/ ), a trained herbal therapist ( https://hoodherbalism.com/ ), a member of NYC Birth Village ( https://www.nycbirthvillage.com/ ), and a Childbirth Educator with CB International ( https://childbirthinternational.com/ ). I started my career exclusively doing birth work, but the more I was exposed to postpartum care and lactation education, I fell deeply in love. My work at the Boram’s ( https://boramcare.com/ ) postnatal retreat center in Manhattan then catapulted me into postpartum work and built my confidence through hands-on experience with lactation issues. Meeting with dozens of mothers per shift, it kept me quick on my feet in a way that I thought only being an on-call birth doula could feed. And yet kept me grounded and adaptable to switch between different realms of energy seamlessly within seconds. Now, as a full-fledged postpartum doula and lactation consultant, I dedicate my work to guiding families through a whole new season of life with warm hands and listening ears. My goal is to meet you where you are so that each unique union feel supported, confident, and cared for every step of the way.

Briana is the most down to earth and caring doula I had the pleasure of meeting. Her dedication and commitment to helping women, especially for those, such as myself, who are first time moms, is commendable!!! Her passion towards her work, her abundance of knowledge, and her prompt responses in times of need are some of the many factors because of which I was able to gain trust and confidence in her during the most intimate moment of my and my husband’s life! Her professionalism and caring nature truly contributed to building a bond and knowing I was in safe hands during my delivery. Through every breakdown, every fear, every doubt; I knew and still know I can count on Briana to guide me and help me progress smoothly through this life changing journey! Her ability to handle any situation in a labor room, when a woman is going through her toughest test in life and guide us through the whole process is remarkable! I cannot thank her enough for all her help, her support, and for being a wonderful person! Also, I appreciate that even after deliveries are done she cares about her clients, follows up with them months after , and is willing to help in any way possible to make this life changing journey less nerve wracking!
