Hiring a doula is no small thing and I am honored by your consideration! My passion for women's health and birth stems from my personal experiences and observations. Over the years, I have witnessed the beauty and natural process of childbirth. Having first been present for the births of several friends and family members. It was this, that inspired me to deepen my knowledge and skills. This led me to pursue my certification as a doula, so that I could support and guide expecting mothers all over, through this transformative, magical journey. I believe that every woman deserves to have an empowering birth experience, and I am dedicated to providing the compassionate care and assistance to make that a reality. My passion is for helping others on their own unique path to motherhood.

Emily has been an absolute blessing as our newborn’s night nurse and doula. Her tender, caring and reassuring nature gave us complete peace of mind during this special but exhausting time. Emily is incredibly accommodating, tailoring her care to meet both our baby’s and family’s needs, and her calming presence brought comfort to our entire household. We’ve already recommended her to other families, who’ve shared equally glowing feedback about their experiences with her. Emily truly goes above and beyond, and we’re so grateful for her support!

As a mother of three, including one beautiful home birth, I understand the sacred, life-changing journey of bringing a baby into the world. My own experiences with birth and postpartum have taught me the deep value of gentle presence, practical support, and emotional care. Through Starla’s Sacred Hands, I offer weekend birth and postpartum assistance — from helping prepare the home, caring for siblings, and nourishing new parents, to simply holding space in those tender early moments. I believe every family deserves to feel seen, supported, and safe as they step into this new chapter.

Hello! My name is Amanda Millsap. I’m a midwive’s assistant turned doula. I think my experience is a little bit unique in the fact that I attended around 60 home births before I ever helped parents out in a hospital setting. I have since become quite familiar with the hospitals in Chattanooga and Dalton, and have worked with many providers in these areas. I have a compiled list of other providers also. For example, chiropractors, pelvic floor therapist, massage therapist and more. It is my goal to provide you with education surrounding parenthood, help you and your family navigate through unfamiliar territory, and hopefully help you feel confident in your decisions. I look forward to becoming a member of your team!

Hello! My name is Ailena, and I am a dedicated and nurturing caregiver with over 2 years of professional nanny experience, including caring for infants with special medical needs. In addition, I have 5+ years of babysitting experience across different ages, which has given me a strong foundation in supporting children through each stage of development. I am certified in CPR and First Aid, and I take safety and attentiveness very seriously. In my previous roles, I have provided not only loving care but also help with daily routines such as feeding, diapering, sleep schedules, and gentle preschool activities. I am also comfortable with light cooking, cleaning, transportation, and ever overnight care when needed. My goal is to create a safe, calm, and supportive environment for newborns while also giving parents peace of mind. I truly enjoy building strong, trusting relationships with families and feel honored to be a part of a child's earliest milestones. I would love to connect and see how I can best support your family!

We are beyond grateful for Aileana and the incredible impact she has had on our family of four children (ages 11, 10, 4, and 2). From the very beginning, she has shown an extraordinary ability to balance the unique needs of each of our kids, meeting them exactly where they are in their stages of life. She has been so much more than just “help with the kids” — she has become a trusted partner in their growth. With our older two, she encourages independence, responsibility, and kindness, while keeping them engaged in their daily routines and schoolwork. With our little ones, she is endlessly patient and nurturing, always creating fun, educational activities that help them learn and grow. It is amazing to see how each of our children has thrived under her care. On top of her attentiveness with the kids, she consistently goes above and beyond with day-to-day household tasks. Whether it’s tidying up, helping keep schedules running smoothly, or just anticipating needs before we even mention them, she makes our lives so much easier. She is punctual, dependable, trustworthy, and has a natural ability to bring calm and structure to even the busiest of days. What stands out most is her heart. She genuinely loves our children and treats them as if they were her own. Knowing that our kids are safe, cared for, and happy in her presence gives us such peace of mind. We could not ask for anyone better, and we feel truly blessed to have her as part of our family. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. She is an absolute treasure!

When I had my second child and my fair share of breastfeeding struggles, I decided to use my nursing education as a basis for studying to become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant after I was inspired by my own favorite IBCLC to help others. I have been certified with IBLCE since 2017 and have personal experience breastfeeding for a total of six years so far! (3.5 years with my first child, 2 years with my second child, and almost fifteen months with our new baby!) After over nine years of caring for the tiniest babies in the Chattanooga, TN area, I decided to found Nourish & Nurture to pursue my dream of being a lactation consultant in an outpatient setting. Breastfeeding comes with both joys and struggles, and I want to be available to mothers as a form of support wherever they are in their breastfeeding journey whether that's with learning the process, troubleshooting, pumping, or weaning.

After going through multiple pregnancy losses and receiving support from other women, I knew that I wanted to learn how to support women through labor and birth, both in the extreme highs and extreme lows of that journey. I was trained in 2018 and have been practicing ever since! My doula career began in San Antonio and is now continuing in middle Tennessee, where I live with my husband and 3 beautiful children. I truly see doula work as a calling and ministry. I am passionate about empowering and supporting women, and I would love to walk alongside you in your pregnancy and birth!

I truly understand the strength, courage, and love that birth brings out in you. My own birth experiences showed me just how powerful it is to have someone calm, loving, and experienced by your side—someone who really sees you, supports you, and stays with you through every moment. With 14 years of personal and professional experience, I bring certified expertise as a Full-Spectrum Birth Doula, Childbirth Educator, Lactation Counselor, and Medical Assistant to every family I support. I take a holistic approach to care, supporting the whole mother and family—physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Whether you’re birthing in a hospital or at home, my goal is to help you feel informed, empowered, and spiritually grounded throughout your journey. Hospital Births I help you navigate policies while advocating for your natural, informed choices, ensuring you feel confident and respected in every decision. I approach every birth with reverence and prayerfulness, walking with you as your steady advocate and calm guide. I offer both virtual and in-person support, so no matter where you are, you can receive thoughtful, compassionate care tailored to your family. Postpartum Support After birth, I’m still here. I provide breastfeeding support, newborn care guidance, and a listening ear, walking with you through the postpartum period and helping your family transition with confidence and care. Choosing your birth support is deeply personal. If you want someone who will stand by your side with kindness, skill, and faith, I would be honored to be there for you. Let’s walk this beautiful journey together with Shiphrah Birth & Beyond.
