Night Nannies & Night Nurses Near Me in DeSoto, TX

Hi, I’m Melanie Powell—certified doula, childbirth educator, author of From Fear to First Cry, and the founder of both Little Flower Birth Services and the non-profit Under His Wings Collective. As a mother myself, I know firsthand that bringing a child into the world is one of the most profound, transformative journeys you will ever take. But I also know it can bring up deep questions, past fears, and medical anxieties. That is why my life’s work is dedicated to walking beside women and their partners, ensuring you never have to navigate the medical landscape alone. Through Little Flower Birth Services, my practice is rooted in three core pillars: Advocacy to help your partner step into their role as your protector, Sanctuary to guard your peace with a protective "Baby Bubble," and Autonomy to honor your God-given intuition through a trauma-informed framework. Whether I'm teaching evidence-based physiological birth classes, coaching partners in our signature advocacy workshops, or offering quiet, steadfast support in the delivery room, my goal is to transform your anxieties into your greatest strengths. Beyond my private practice, my heart for community led me to establish Under His Wings Collective—a non-profit initiative dedicated to expanding access to sliding-scale and free childbirth education, alongside trauma-informed virtual doula support (such as our Virtual Bloom Package) for Medicaid-eligible, low-income, and high-anxiety mothers who deserve dedicated care regardless of circumstance. When I’m not supporting families across the DFW Metroplex, leading virtual education cohorts, or advocating through the collective, you can usually find me baking something nourishing for loved ones or cherishing quiet moments with my daughter. You deserve to enter your birth room feeling strong, informed, and deeply supported. I would be honored to walk this sacred journey with you.

I'm Taylor, your dedicated birth and postpartum doula. As a native of Dallas, my life's journey has been a blend of enriching experiences and fulfilling adventures, all of which have guided me to my true calling—supporting new families during the prenatal & postpartum period. Right after college, I embarked on a transformative adventure to Thailand. Living and teaching in this beautiful country was an eye-opening experience that profoundly shaped my worldview. It was here that I found my inspiration to live freely, purposefully, and in service to others. In my everyday life, I love juicing and cooking. When I’m not assisting families, you can find me hiking the trails around Dallas, reading or traveling. I also cherish going to the movies. Pregnancy and postpartum are crucial for both the baby and the parents. As your birth/postpartum doula, my goal is to provide unwavering support, compassionate care, and practical guidance. Drawing from my holistic experiences and nurturing spirit, I am here to ensure that this transition is as smooth and joyful as possible for you and your family. First, as a sister and a friend, then as a mother myself, I have seen the medical system sew fear and doubt into women regarding their body's capability to achieve what it was intended to. The truth is, childbirth is both natural and miraculous. I believe that every woman has the right to decide what interventions she wants to use in childbirth without the use of fear, but instead through true informed consent. I continue learning daily how best to help each new mama, both through lived experiences and through research, and will gladly share my knowledge. I also believe that every woman should be supported through the most vulnerable and powerful moment of her life. In a system that pushes women away from their natural state, I am here to be that calming support and fierce advocate.

Hello, I am a certified postpartum doula. I have worked with babies/children since I was 13. I babysat and nannied throughout my teenage years. In college I worked at numerous daycare facilities (newborn-preschool). I earned my bachelors degree from the University of North Texas in early childhood education. I taught for 5 years in 2nd grade and in PE. In 2008 we welcomed our first (of six) baby. I now have 5 boys and a daughter that I homeschool. My youngest is now six and I miss the newborn season!! I recently got my certification to be a nighttime postpartum doula. My goal is to support the new momma (and family) and help them to enjoy and cherish this quick season of having a new baby. I breastfed all my babies so I understand the struggles and joy of this as well.

Hi, I'm Lela Mirtl, founder and owner of Birth & Bloom. Postpartum Doula | Newborn Care Specialist | Pediatric Sleep Trainer Through Birth & Bloom, I provide compassionate, evidence-based care for growing families during the postpartum period. My work centers on nurturing both parents and newborns while creating a calm, supportive environment that allows families to rest, recover, and build confidence in their new roles. Whether I am providing overnight newborn care, emotional support, education, feeding guidance, or practical household assistance, my goal is always the same: to ensure families feel seen, supported, and never alone. My philosophy is rooted in the belief that every family deserves a village. Modern parenting often comes with unrealistic expectations and limited support systems. New parents are frequently expected to navigate sleep deprivation, physical recovery, feeding challenges, and major life adjustments with little guidance. I believe postpartum care should not be viewed as a luxury, but as an essential part of family wellness. When parents are cared for, they are better equipped to care for their children. I approach each family without judgment and with deep respect for their unique values, goals, and parenting choices. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to newborn care. Every baby is different, every parent is different, and every family's journey is unique. My role is not to replace a parent's instincts, but to strengthen their confidence and provide the knowledge, reassurance, and support they need to trust themselves. One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is helping families find balance during a time that can feel overwhelming. I strive to create an atmosphere of calm amid the uncertainty that often accompanies the newborn stage. Through education, encouragement, and hands-on support, I help parents develop sustainable routines, understand their baby's needs, and gain confidence in their abilities. I am passionate about continuous learning and staying informed about current best practices in newborn care, safe sleep, postpartum recovery, infant development, and family wellness. I believe families deserve care that is both compassionate and informed by the latest evidence-based research. At the heart of everything I do is the understanding that postpartum support extends beyond caring for a newborn. It involves caring for the entire family unit. My goal is to help parents feel rested, capable, and supported while fostering a healthy foundation for their growing family. I consider it a privilege to walk alongside families during this special chapter and to provide the guidance, reassurance, and care they need to thrive. Birth & Bloom was founded on the belief that every family deserves compassionate support, trusted guidance, and a gentle beginning. Through personalized care, meaningful connections, and a commitment to excellence, I strive to help families bloom with confidence as they navigate the journey into parenthood.

I have a great love of serving and caring for new mamas and their newborns. It's a passion I've had since a teenager. My first postpartum client came along at 18 yrs old - before the word doula was ever known. I have 40yrs of experience working with newborns, new parents, as an educator, postpartum doula, nanny, lactation educator, and newborn care specialist. I have worked in the 3rd largest hospital in the country within the maternity unit as a nurse assistant/patient tech. I also sleep condition and train babies to sleep well at night as long as the parents follow through with instructions when I am not there. Baby can sleep between 10-12hr straight. I also travel with the families anywhere they go within my time frame of my contract. Passport/TSI ready. Many families have me between 6weeks-4months. Feel free to reach out to discuss how I may be of help to you. My free time I love to travel, swim, go boating, and making wreaths for front doors for the holidays. I am based out of Dallas Texas and love to travel to Florida as well to work. New mamas & Newborns are my ONLY Business!
