Childcare and working with families has been my career for over thirteen years. Since 2011, I have had the privilege of supporting a wide range of families, caring for children from newborns to twelve years of age in both private homes and early years settings. Alongside my childcare career, I am currently completing my certifications as a birth and postpartum doula and child sleep consultant, and I am also studying to become a birth and lactation coach. These areas of study allow me to further expand my knowledge of pregnancy, birth, postpartum adjustment, infant development, breastfeeding and lactation, responsive sleep, and family support. Hi my name is Madi, and I’m a mixed Acadian/Migmaw birth and end-of-life doula in the Edmonton area. I decided to become a birth worker and end-of-life doula because I believe every single person deserves an advocate. Every person deserves autonomy and the right to make decisions. I am married and have four children ranging from ages 15-24. I am a Christian and I am passionate about the importance of children having lots of nurturing and love (you can't spoil a baby). I understand there is a lot to learn for new moms (I wish I knew more with my first one) and they need a lot of support to keep healthy in body and mind especially in the first couple months. I enjoyed breastfeeding all my children and feel like you should too if you can. I have a lot of info and experience on that matter.
