The cost of a night nanny in Evanston, IL can be influenced by several factors:

  • Experience and Qualifications

Nannies with extensive experience, certifications (e.g., newborn care specialist), or specific training often charge higher rates.

  • Number of Babies

Caring for twins or multiples typically costs more than caring for a single baby due to the increased workload.

  • Hours and Duration

Rates may vary depending on the number of hours per night, the total number of nights required, and whether the arrangement is short-term or long-term.

  • Duties and Responsibilities

Additional responsibilities, such as bottle preparation, light housekeeping, or sleep training, can increase the cost.

  • Time of Year

Demand during peak times, like the holiday season, may drive prices higher.

  • Agency Fees

Hiring through an agency often includes placement fees or additional charges for their services, adding to the overall cost.

  • Overnight Rates vs. Hourly Rates

Some nannies charge a flat overnight rate, while others charge hourly, which can influence costs depending on the length of the shift.

When considering hiring a night nanny in Evanston, IL, it's advisable to research and interview several night nannies to find one who aligns with your preferences, needs, and budget. During consultations, you can discuss their specific services and pricing structure to ensure you have a clear understanding of what is included and the associated costs. This process will help you find a night nanny who meets your needs and fits within your budget.

Hello! I'm Heather Joy, oldest of nine kids, and mother of four. Caregiving on every level is my life's calling-- mentally, emotionally, logistically, and physically! I am dedicated to healthy boundaries that empower the caregivers I work with so we can do sustainable work that truly nurtures the nurturers. I love brainstorming with new families when challenges arise-- I excel at developing systems, routines, and rituals that work best for each unique family. I also stay up to date on evidence-based care, melding my knowledge with the power of intuition to meet new families personalized needs. When I'm not working, learning, or caregiving, I spend time walking in Chicago's prolific nature, cooking with my kids, and socializing in my neighborhood. (LGBTQIA+ ally, religiously inclusive, and generally grateful to walk alongside any and all types of family units where love and peace are the priority!)

I met Heather when my baby girl was just three days old. As a first-time mom with no family around, I needed support during my postpartum period, and Heather's exceptional care was truly invaluable from day one. She taught me everything from changing diapers to bathing my baby. Heather approached parenting as a trial and error process, guiding me through different methods, such as finding the best way to swaddle my baby, understanding that every baby is unique. Her calming presence was instrumental in helping me cope with the significant identity shift and potential postpartum depression that new moms often face. I wholeheartedly recommend Heather for her expertise, compassion, and unwavering support

Hi everyone! I'm LGBTQ+ friendly and I believe all families deserve love and support. I'm a certified postpartum doula and I provide daytime support in the city of Chicago. Not only can I provide excellent care of your newborn, but I'm there to provide support for the whole family by assisting with breastfeeding or bottle feeding, making meals and snacks, answering questions about newborn development or postpartum recovery, and generally providing emotional support during a time that can be both joyful and stressful. I take your family's health seriously, which is why I'm fully vaccinated and boosted, and I've received the Tdap vaccine. I get a yearly flu shot and I keep my CPR certification updated.

carrie is a rare combination of a professional (always on time, scrupulous about billing, always looking to add value) with a big, big heart. as a single mom with a toddler expecting my second son, i was pleased to find carrie through a referral. from our first meeting, i was impressed by her ability to innovate and think creatively about her role as a postpartum doula. she gave me the impression, which was confirmed time and time again over the following months, that her work is satisfying for her when she can make the lives of the families she is working with better and easier. and she brings experience, flexibility and creativity to figuring out how best to do just that. carrie spent her time with us helping with whatever needed doing, and she learned very quickly what kinds of things we needed help with (often before i knew myself). she cooked delicious foods, kept our home tidy and neat, fetched my toddler home from school, helped with laundry, and even did the shopping on occasion. she brainstormed with me about anything that entered my mind, from the mundane (how to organize my bookshelves) to the profoundly important (how to help my toddler adjust to his baby brother and how to cope with my newborn’s medical issues). most importantly of all, carrie provided kindness and warmth and love to my two boys, and unflinching support to me through it all. my toddler and i speak of carrie often and miss having the daily gift of her patience, encouragement, humor, and damn good sense in our lives.

I started my journey in postpartum support over a decade ago supporting pregnant and parenting teens living in a group home together. This experience laid the foundation for my love of supporting moms, and taught me the importance of community supports. After a decade long career in corporate recruiting, and my own journey into motherhood, I found myself being pulled back to supporting moms. As a mother who has navigated her own postpartum mood disorder, I am passionate about fostering connections and creating the supportive “villages” that families need. I have trained as a Newborn Care Specialist and Postpartum Doula, and over the past year, I have had the privilege of providing compassionate support to families in my community. I approach each family with warmth and authenticity, aiming to create a safe space where they can thrive. My goal is to empower families and help them navigate their unique journeys with confidence. I look forward to being a part of your family's support system as you embark on this incredible adventure.

Maggie is incredible. She helped care for my newborn twins when they fresh out of the NICU and my anxiety was peak levels to say the least! Not only did she provide them with excellent care which allowed me to get some much needed rest, she also had so much knowledge to share and was so reassuring. She was not only so knowledgeable and skilled with newborn care but also about postpartum care and what I needed to be doing to take care of myself. She helped with food prep, cleaning up and just generally making sure I was taken care of as well. I could not have asked for someone better to be with me and my babies in those early days!

Hi, I'm Evelyn – a mama to two beautiful kids, a nature lover, and an advocate for women. While I didn’t plan to become a doula or childbirth educator, I now know that it’s my true calling. Growing up in a close-knit Mexican household, I was always drawn to community and mentorship, especially for girls. After earning my degrees in psychology and Spanish, I worked with survivors of human trafficking, domestic violence, and sexual abuse. Becoming a mom ignited my deep curiosity about pregnancy and birth. I became fascinated by the process, eager to learn everything about labor and advocate for my own birth experience. After having profoundly empowering births, I realized that every woman deserves a birth that is powerful and free from trauma. This curiosity soon grew into a passion for supporting other women in my community. In my journey as a home visitor, working with Spanish-speaking moms, I saw firsthand the lack of resources and perinatal education available to them. It fueled my desire to help these women advocate for themselves, find their voice, and feel empowered in their birth experiences. After the birth of my daughter, I took a step back to reflect on my passions, and that’s when I discovered the amazing combination of doula and childbirth educator. And so, La Vid was born – a community for mothers to feel rooted and empowered, from pregnancy through motherhood. I believe in the strength and connection of women, and my mission is to empower you through your entire journey, so you never have to walk alone.

One of the things that I loved the most was that Evelyn offered online birthing classes on Saturdays. This was my 3rd pregnancy and I had never attended any birthing class. Knowing what to expect for birth, I was amazed at how much she goes over in her classes that the content is real and raw. Before my birth she set time to get to know my birth stories, know me, and discuss her role as my doula. I really appreciated that she listened without any judgement. Evelyn always listened to my concerns and actually validated them. In the last weeks of pregnancy, she would check on me and give me tips to be ready for when it was time to head to the hospital. Her words and knowledge would always calm my nerves and anxiety. During my birth, she was ready to help me voice out my needs and was not afraid to roll up her sleeves to help. She provides so many words of affirmation and was part of my successful birth. I would definitely recommend Evelyn to any mom looking for a doula. She is also so kind, humble, and really knows what it takes for a mama to birth.
