I had Darlene as my doula for my first baby. She was very organized and I appreciated her thoughtfulness and prenatal meetings. She supported me through my transition between midwives and OB care. Postpartum, I utilized her overnight services which was super helpful as a first time mom.

Fiona Mortensen

2 years of experience

Hi, I’m Fiona Mortensen, founder of Little Pines Doula. I’m a certified postpartum doula, student lactation counselor, and a mom to two little boys under two, proudly supporting families throughout the Greater Seattle and Tacoma areas. My passion for birth and postpartum work began during my time as an EMT in King County, where I had the unforgettable experience of helping a mother deliver her sixth baby. That moment opened my eyes to the beauty and privilege of supporting families during such a powerful transition. Since then, I’ve welcomed my own children—first via cesarean and then through a VBAC—experiences that have deepened my appreciation for the importance of informed, compassionate care throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. With a background in emergency medicine—including work on a NICU/PICU transport team and as an ER Technician at Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital—I bring a steady, grounded presence and a blend of clinical knowledge and heartfelt support to my doula practice. At Little Pines Doula, I offer non-judgmental, personalized care to meet each family’s unique needs. I especially love helping new parents build confidence and connection as they adjust to life with their baby. Outside of doula work, I love exploring new parks with my boys, relaxing at the beach, and enjoying the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. At home, you’ll often find me curled up with an embroidery project and my cats, or sharing laughs and playful moments with my family. I believe joy and humor are essential, and I bring a light-hearted, down-to-earth energy into every family I support. I’m also passionate about learning and am always deepening my knowledge in birth, postpartum care, and lactation—not only to better serve my clients, but because I genuinely love continuing to grow. I truly believe the postpartum period can be one of the most beautiful and transformative times in a family’s life. It’s an honor to walk alongside families during this tender season—and to bring warmth, wisdom, and a few smiles along the way.

Having Fiona as my postpartum doula was one of the best decisions we made when preparing for our little guy’s arrival. Fiona guided me through decision paralysis, every question or concern, and exhaustion; she did this with care, grace, compassion and patience. She was very professional (prompt, communicated expectations and boundaries clearly) while being personable. I needed someone just like this while my little family navigated this tender time of postpartum. There was never a moment of doubt or worry with Fiona as our doula. I knew my little dude was in great hands while I rested. I can’t recommend Fiona enough! Our 2 months with her was amazing and made my postpartum journey so much easier and peaceful.

I am a Birth Doula, an expert in body balancing for pregnancy birth and post-partum, (Body Ready Method Pro), a Breathwork Facilitator and a Herbalist. I am new to bornbir but not new to being a Doula! Check out my website for google reviews. I specialize in nervous system regulation through breathwork and body balancing. I have a deep understanding of the connection between breath health and nervous system health. When you can utilize these two things for your pregnancy, labor and post partum you will change your entire life. Your nervous system is the driver and unless you become present with it and understand how to speak with it- your intuition will always take a back seat to your stress, anxiety and fears. My goal is to help dissolve your fears and get you in FLOW by learning how to hear your intuition!

My labor and birthing experience with Jacqi was beyond amazing! Her calm and collected presence is something I’ll continue to be grateful for. I, unfortunately, had somewhat of a traumatic laboring experience due to my high risk pregnancy, and if it wasn’t for Jacqi’s knowledge and calm demeanor I don’t think I would’ve navigated all the medical issues as well as I did. I had my laboring room full of love and support; I had my husband, my sister, mother in law, and Jacqi. With over 36hours of laboring, Jacqi supported me every second. She knew what to do and when. She remembered everything from my birth plan, which was so great, even though my medical situation didn’t allow for some of my preferences to be honored, Jacqi still advocated for the birth experience I envisioned. She was also such a light to have in my room and kept the spirits high with everyone around. She brought snacks, had all the tools to help me labor, and was so so so incredibly emotionally supportive. My first time birthing experience with a traumatic medical condition wasn’t something I could navigate without Jacqi’s involvement! I will 10/10 be working with Jacqi again for my next birth!!

Desiree Baird

Desiree Baird

9 years of experience

Hi everyone! My name is Desiree, and I’ve been a pediatric sleep consultant for 9 years, helping families improve their baby or child’s sleep through education, individualized sleep plans, and one-on-one coaching. I take a comprehensive approach to sleep. Before recommending sleep training, I first assess the child’s sleep needs, schedule, routines, sleep environment, and current sleep habits. From there, I make targeted changes to build a strong sleep foundation and, when appropriate, guide parents through a strategic and supportive sleep training approach that fits their child and family. I also look beyond behavioral sleep challenges and consider other factors that may be contributing to disrupted sleep, including nutrition, environmental factors, and potential red flags for airway concerns or sleep-disordered breathing. My goal is to understand what may be driving the sleep challenges first, rather than simply treating every sleep problem with sleep training.

Recent review

Working with Desiree has truly changed our lives. As first-time parents to twin babies, life had become increasingly chaotic. Our girls were often cranky, and after every feeding it would take us 20–30 minutes to get each baby to sleep. We didn't understand their sleep cues or the right timing, and we were quickly burning out. Desiree's education and guidance completely changed the way we approached sleep. She helped us understand our babies' cues, establish a routine, and build healthy sleep habits. Our babies are so much happier now, and for the first time we have predictability in our daily lives, which has made an incredible difference for our entire family. What stood out most was the level of support she provided. She was always quick to answer our questions, and even when life got busy and we forgot to check in, she would proactively reach out to see how things were going. We always felt supported throughout the entire process. Desiree is knowledgeable, patient, encouraging, and genuinely invested in the families she works with. Sleep training twins felt overwhelming at first, but her guidance made the process manageable and gave us the confidence we needed.
