I provide prenatal, birth, postpartum and reproductive care for all birthing people and their families in the DC, Maryland and Virginia area. I completed my training with Doula Trainings International in February 2026 and I’m currently working towards my certification. In the summer of 2025, I became a mom and was privileged to be able to give birth to my son in the comfort of our home. The powerful experience of laboring in the arms of my partner and my mother, surrounded by an incredible team of midwives left a strong imprint on me. I decided to step into the birth care space because I want all birthing people to have the same level of support my people have done for me, who have kept me held throughout labor and nursed me back through postpartum. I am deeply aware of the inequity and challenges facing many birthing people in the US, especially to our black, brown, indigenous and immigrant families. I also realize that the solution does not lie in asking birthing people and their families to “get more educated” and “find more support”. What we need a system-wide policy change that address core issues: guaranteed paid family leave, affordable childcare, and affordable medical care. This work is inherently political, because too many birthing people have been paying the price with their own bodies and babies. Birth work is my prayer that we all receive the love, care and support we deserve, no matter who we are or where we come from. I would describe myself as a dedicated and passionate birth and postpartum doula with a background in student midwifery and student nursing. With a calling in my heart from a young age, my journey began when I attended Washington Adventist University to study BS nursing in 2013. During my studies, I discovered a missionary school that offered a doula certificate program and Midwifery course, which sparked my interest and led me to pursue my true passion. My commitment to my calling led me to complete the requirements for the childbirth educator certificate at a birthing center in Texas. My approach is simple: I meet you where you are. I take the time to understand you and your family's priorities for your birth, and I offer as much (or as little!) education as you'd like. Sending along resources and recommendations tailored to what you need, when you need it. Getting ready together I offer a birth planning session where we walk through what to expect in early labor, once you arrive at your place of birth, and the options available to you during admission, pushing, newborn care, and the third stage. Depending on your desires, I can help advocate when something isn't standard practice, and I'll be right there watching for your preferences on the big day. I also offer an in-person prenatal session for you and your partner, where we go over comfort measures and gold-star labor positions (shoutout Spinning Babies!). As your due date gets closer, I help normalize and support those final weeks — encouraging rest, relaxation, and peace as you prepare to meet your baby. On the big day We're busy! I offer plenty of hands-on support — counter pressure, massage, and continued work on positions to help your baby descend. This is all with the support and collaboration of your care team which is important to create a calm, supportive envrionment. After graduating from the University of Maryland in 2014, I traveled around doing some mission work, met my husband while living in Maine and eventually we landed back in my hometown to start a family. I love spending time at the beach, going for walks outside, a little coffee with my cream, fuzzy socks, loud country music, driving with the windows down, bonfires, sweater weather, cooking and baking from scratch, salted caramel, mom groups and Gilmore Girls. I have been in the healthcare field since I completed my Bachelor of Science at Marymount University where I studied Health Promotion and minored in Public Health. I was concerned during the pandemic about the alarming rates at which black women and women of color were passing away at a time that is supposed to be joyous. With not having kids of my own yet, I would like to put out the good I’d like to receive when my time comes. Educating moms and their partners with welcoming their children and feeling confident to not feel pressured to do anything other than what’s on the birth plan.
