Hi, I'm Taylor Clarke-Cameron, a birth and postpartum doula and childbirth educator based in New Jersey. Since launching my doula practice in December 2024, I've had the privilege of supporting 15 families and attending 13 births, and every single one has deepened my commitment to this work. Before stepping into birth work, I spent over a decade as a school administrator — advocating for individuals, navigating complex systems, and building trust with families during some of the most pivotal moments of their lives. That foundation shapes everything I do as a doula: I show up informed, steady, and fully in your corner. My mission is simple: every birthing person deserves to feel informed, empowered, and supported — no exceptions. I am proudly affirming of all families, including single parents, multicultural and multi-religious families, LGBTQIA+ families, parents with disabilities, parents who are neurodivergent, and those growing their families through adoption. My Approach Universal Support, Personal Touch Birth is universal—it's happened across cultures, centuries, and countless galaxies of human experience. Yet YOUR birth is uniquely yours, a wonder that deserves celebration and support tailored specifically to your needs. Whether you're a single parent writing your own heroic story, part of a multicultural or multi-religious family blending beautiful traditions, navigating parenthood in the LGBTQIA+ community, a differently-abled parent, a neurodivergent parent, or creating your family through adoption—I am here for YOU. Your journey matters, your choices are valid, and your experience deserves nothing less than stellar support.

Taylor was my birth doula, and I truly feel it was divine intervention that she came into my life—especially since my son was born on her birthday. From the very beginning, she was incredibly attentive, informative, and intentional in supporting both me and my husband. She created a detailed binder for us with guides on what to expect, postpartum care, exercises, and nutritious foods that were safe for both me and my baby. The information was so thorough that I never felt the need to search elsewhere. One moment that deeply stood out to me was when I shared that I wanted to play Surahs during my labor and delivery. At our next visit, Taylor had printed out different Surahs along with explanations of their purposes, making it easier for me to choose what I wanted to hear. That level of thoughtfulness meant so much to me. I also appreciated her honesty and professionalism. If she didn’t know something, she would say so—then either refer me to my midwives or research and follow up with me. During labor and delivery, she was calm, knowledgeable, and attentive. She impressed the medical staff, made me feel safe and advocated for, and ensured my husband felt supported and confident asking questions. Taylor made a huge impact on my first delivery, and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better doula. Even now, she continues to send monthly emails with updates on my son’s development and what to expect as I heal. Taylor is amazing, and it’s clear she genuinely cares about what she does.

My goal is to help you feel prepared, empowered, and never alone during one of the most transformative moments of your life. My hobbies are reading, crafting, hosting karaoke nights at local bars, helping my partner run a part-time catering business and cuddling with our Beagle-mix Emo. I look forward to meeting you!!

Donneta was the best decision we made as a family! As new parents, it was incredibly important to have a newborn care specialist who was very professional and experienced. As a pediatrician training in allergy and immunology, safety was my number one priority and Donneta has far surpassed my expectations. She is dedicated to ensuring my baby and I are very well taken care of. She does all of his laundry, bottle and pump part prep, tidying the house and is overall a very respectful house guest. She is very clean and respectful of our space. I cannot imagine hiring anyone else during this vulnerable time. She is part of our family now.

I am humbled by the honor that I am being called to witness birth as it should be.

Hazel is AMAZING! This was my second birth. my last experience with doula was okay, so I was very hesitant to get a doula this time. But I'm so so glad that I did because it made a HUGE difference. First I really appreciate the prep visit at my house. we talked about my preference and a mindset prep which helped me through labor. She was always on top of texts, calls and emails for questions, and would check in front time to time in between. When my labor started, even with the previous experience, we were still a little nervous. So she came to our house right away and helped me through the labor. She also took care of the communication with my midwife, which took a big burden off me when I was in pain. I chose natural delivery with no meds, and her counter pressure techniques really helped me through the pain. She was there from the beginning till I was released (a few hours after birth) and got me into the car. We had a postpartum visit and she massaged my belly and used moxie sticks on me. It felt really good. I felt really cared for the whole time. Had my sister lived closer, I'd have booked Hazel for her birth!

My doula instructor, Michelle Gabriel-Caldwell, was truly exceptional. From the very first class, she set the tone for an open and supportive learning environment that encouraged honesty, curiosity, and self-growth. Her teaching style was unlike any other instructor I’ve had—she didn’t just read from a textbook. Instead, she brought the curriculum to life by sharing real-world experiences, lessons learned, and genuine passion for birth work. It was evident that she lives what she teaches and cares deeply about preparing her students to succeed not just in theory, but in practice. What stood out most about Michelle was her honesty and transparency. She didn’t sugarcoat what it means to be a doula or the realities that come with supporting mothers, babies, and families. She was upfront about the emotional and physical challenges that can arise, as well as the deep sense of purpose this work can bring. Her authenticity made me feel empowered to embrace every part of this journey the beautiful moments and the hard ones too Each lesson built upon the last in a way that was practical and meaningful. She encouraged dialogue, welcomed questions, and valued every student’s perspective. Her patience, compassion, and professionalism inspired me to become a doula who leads with both skill and heart. She reminded us that being a doula is not only about assisting during labor and birth, but also about advocacy, education, and emotional support that uplifts the entire family. The PHEI Doula Training Program under her instruction exceeded all expectations. Michelle Gabriel-Caldwell has a gift for teaching that blends knowledge, passion, and purpose. Because of her guidance, I completed this training with confidence, clarity, and a deeper commitment to serving women and families in my community. I am grateful for her dedication to empowering future doulas and for helping me discover my calling in this meaningful work.

Hi, I’m Angela — a mother, grandmother, and postpartum doula based in New Jersey, proudly serving families throughout the NJ/NY/CT tristate area. I am deeply passionate about supporting families during the tender and transformative postpartum period, offering calm, compassionate care when it’s needed most. I have supported over 40 families and their newborns, some through birth, and several others through overnight postpartum care and newborn support, helping parents rest, recover, and confidently adjust to their new reality. While I also provide daytime care, my primary focus is overnight support for families who need specialized, hands-on assistance during the early weeks after birth. My passion for postpartum care grew from my own journey into motherhood, when I realized how essential it is for birthing parents to feel nurtured, supported, and truly seen after birth. What began as caring for family and friends naturally evolved into my calling as a postpartum doula. Later on, I expanded my work to support expectant mothers throughout pregnancy and birth, offering compassionate physical and emotional care. In addition to my doula work, I bring over 15 years of experience caring for children and teenagers, along with nearly two decades of volunteer service supporting parents, children, and teens in my community. I approach every family with warmth, respect, and a wholehearted commitment to helping you feel confident, supported, and cared for during this beautiful new chapter.

Being in postpartum has made a lot of things more difficult but Diane's help has made one of those hardest things so much more enjoyable and approachable. She was extremely non-judgmental, very attentive, and very observant. I thought all was lost and the meltdowns would be normal,,but after Diane's visit, both baby and I had a much easier time approaching breastfeeding.

Christina was an absolute godsend for our family after our daughter was born. She was our night nurse for about two months, starting when our daughter was just two days old. Thanks to her, I was able to get the rest I desperately needed during those early postpartum weeks, which made an enormous difference in both my recovery and my mental health. Cookie was incredibly gentle, patient, and loving with our daughter. It was obvious from the very beginning that she truly adores babies and has a gift for caring for them. I'll always remember how sweet she was as she helped me give my daughter her very first bath. As a first time mom with very little baby experience, I learned so much from her. She taught me how to burp our daughter, how much to feed her, which bottle nipples worked best, how to recognize her sleepy cues, and how to soothe and rock her effectively. She was also an invaluable source of support as I learned to breastfeed and pump, while helping us thoughtfully decide when supplementing with formula was the right choice to ensure our daughter was getting what she needed. More than anything, Cookie gave me confidence. She provided so much reassurance during a time that felt completely new and overwhelming. I trusted her wholeheartedly and slept peacefully knowing my daughter was in such capable, loving hands. Beyond being an exceptional caregiver, Cookie is simply a joy to be around. She's warm, funny, and full of stories, and I genuinely enjoyed the positive energy she brought into our home. She even surprised us by bringing Guyanese food from one of her favorite restaurants for us to try, which was such a thoughtful gesture. At the same time, she was always respectful of our home, our routines, and the moments when our family needed quiet time together. We are incredibly grateful for the care, guidance, and kindness Cookie gave our family during one of the most important seasons of our lives. I would recommend her without hesitation to any family looking for an experienced, compassionate, and trustworthy newborn care specialist.

As soon as you meet Carla it will be incredibly obvious why you will only want her to be the one taking care of your newborn child. It is evident that her natural instincts and overall persona is exactly what every mom wishes for when they are going to select someone to help them with their newborn baby. Not only is Carla warm and patient, but she is knowledgeable and experienced, without being bossy. She almost floats around your home and brings you into a bubble of peace from the second she walks in. I have never had such peace of mind as when Carla helped us. Because of this I have referred Carla to every single friend when they share they are pregnant. Only a lucky few have reached out early enough to secure her. She is exceptional. If I could have nobody else help with my family ever it would be her. You will see when you meet her. Her passion is babies. She will know exactly what you and your family need from her and she senses it. Her talents are unmatched. She is truly exceptional. I would only have another baby if I could have Carla. I could never settle for anyone else. From the second she walks in the door Carla is somehow equally caring and professional and does not miss a beat.

Hi everyone, my name is Cavelle Francis. A certified Newborn Care Specialist, sleep trainer, and virtual consultant located in the New York area. My expertise was acquired from extensive experience with parents and infants, complemented by specialized training from the University of Colorado through Coursera, the Newborn Care Training Academy, and Alison courses. I am truly passionate about guiding parents through the complexities of newborn care and fostering healthy sleep patterns in babies. I firmly believe that postpartum support is crucial for all mothers, whether they are new to motherhood or have been through it before. I aim to cultivate a supportive, non-judgmental space that honors each parent's unique journey. Ultimately, I aspire to empower every mother I work with to face the challenges of parenting with assurance. In my free time, I love to read, listen to podcasts, and travel. If you seek exceptional support on your parenting path, I would be thrilled to connect!

Recent review

Cavelle began working in our family in June 2021 taking care of our 6 day-old boy/girl twins for 8 weeks. “Taking care” is a very passive phrase to explain what Cavelle does. Cavelle and I formed a bond from the moment we met over facetime, where she offered an abundance of advise and wisdom in preparing for the twin’s arrival months before they came. I was a first time mom with zero knowledge and Cavelle has taught me absolutely everything about newborn childcare in way that is carefully and specifically tailored to the needs not only of each of my twins but also for me, and our family. Cavelle created a scheduled routine for the twins that was mindful of their growth and development as well as one that was practical for our lives in such a way that we thrived as a new family of four. Because of the way Cavelle structured and implemented our bedtime routine, our newborn twins were able to sleep in 8 hour stretches in the night by 6 weeks. I cannot emphasize enough how Cavelle’s care for the twins allowed for them to thrive and develop in their early weeks. To demonstrate Cavelle’s wealth of knowledge and expertise, when we faced medical issues or questions, our pediatrician always echoed Cavelle’s first given advice and plan of care. Thanks to Cavelle’s incredible work ethic and multi-tasking style, my husband and I were able to not only get sleep at night and be fully functioning during the day (which is unheard of for newborn parents) but also easily enjoy the luxury of one-on-one time out of the house because we knew that the twins were under the best care with no interruption in their routine. Cavelle provided guidance at every aspect of the newborn journey from breastfeeding, pumping, and breast care, to accompanying trips to the pediatrician, to soothing techniques and differentiating each type of cry for each baby. As a first time mom, Cavelle fostered confidence in me by giving me the tools required in understanding each of my twins’ individual needs and how to properly tend to them. Cavelle goes above and beyond just newborn care by putting her heart and soul into the inceptive upbringing of babies by instilling her love and exceptional expertise. It is the absolute best decision in having Cavelle join our family as a baby nurse for our twins. If you are considering Cavelle as a baby nurse, you cannot find a better person and will be fortunate to experience the hand of Cavelle in your child’s early days.

I’m Michelle, a compassionate, experienced and dedicated Newborn Care Specialist with a genuine passion for babies and supporting families during one of the most important transitions in their lives. My journey in newborn care began in Jamaica, where I worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for over six years on the island’s largest neonatal unit. This experience gave me invaluable hands-on knowledge and confidence caring for newborns with a wide range of needs, while teaching me the importance of patience, attentiveness, safety and compassionate care. Since moving to the United States, I have continued working in healthcare and family support as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Healthcare Assistant, Companion and Newborn Care Specialist. I have had the privilege of supporting families with newborns, twins and multiples, micro-preemies, babies with additional and specialist needs, as well as providing newborn care for surrogate families. I understand that every baby and every family is different. My approach is therefore personalised, gentle and respectful. I take the time to understand each baby’s cues, routines and individual needs, while working closely with parents to establish a nurturing environment where both baby and parents feel supported and confident. I am First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) trained, a Certified Neonatal Care Specialist and CNA. I am committed to continually developing my knowledge and skills, and I am looking forward to pursuing my doula training because supporting women and their families throughout pregnancy, birth and the postnatal journey is something I am deeply passionate about. I would describe myself as warm, dependable, patient, trustworthy and adaptable. I genuinely enjoy becoming part of a family's support system and helping make those early days and nights with a newborn a little calmer and more manageable. For me, newborn care is more than a job. It is an opportunity to provide families with reassurance, practical support and peace of mind while giving their little one the safest, most loving care possible. I would be honoured to support you and your family on your journey into parenthood.
