HI. I’m Abbey, the other half of Kindred, a doula partnership I share with my amazing sister-in-law! I am a wife to my long-time boyfriend, a mother to two wild & free girls, a sister, a friend, a nurse, a small business owner, a musician, &, most recently & excitingly, a doula. I live in the rural greater Dayton area on a piece of land back a long lane, nestled against a wood of trees. It’s becoming my oasis, my resting place, our haven to grow and make memories. I am a lover of adventure and the term “settling down” or “forever home” has always terrified me, but the past few years of some intense grief and loss have taught me that a quiet space to grow into your own, to rest, is a gift and a privilege. I am grateful. My mothering tendency is becoming. With the birth of my first came the birth of my mama heart and a wonder beyond wonder. I surprised myself with the way this season was becoming my absolute best one yet. A cumulation of immense loss and grief, another pregnancy, and the birth of my second baby girl, was followed by a season of despair, as I can now call it looking back. A miscarriage followed and left me bare bones and not thriving. Today I find myself growing into who I am as a mama. I find great joy in watching my girls grow and become, great anxiety in the “what ifs” of their little lives, and am overstimulated way easier than I ever imagined possible. You’ll find us playing in the woods, splashing in water of some kind, taking trips to the library & coffee shop, making so many random breakfasts/lunches, meeting with friends, playing dress-up or make-believe of one kind of another, & soaking up the sunshine. When I’m not mumming, I’ll be reading, playing guitar, walking, working as a homecare nurse, having deep conversations with my guy, waxing nostalgic, drinking black coffee or red wine, & eating fruit of some kind, or recently more than ever, sitting & staring to find some mental rest (anyone else?). It’s so good to meet you here. I am so honored to be entering this sacred space of pregnancy, birth, & womanhood, & am looking forward to getting to know you. We’re here for it all, and want more than anything for this to become a “soft space to land”. I pursued my birth doula and lactation support training with a DONA certified doula, and am now pursuing certification myself. I am also a RN-BSN. Although I am not operating from this title while in the birth doula space, I do bring this background and experience.

I'm a Christian DONA International doula, serving families in the SW Ohio area. I am a mother of five children, I have had home births, natural hospital birth, and medicated births. I have also assisted as a doula at homebirths. I have spent years collecting information and resources regarding birth, nutrition, and how best to support healing after birth. I have amassed a wealth of knowledge but I am constantly learning and love to guide other women to information so they can make the best decisions possible for their family. April has her masters in midwifery, is a Certified Professional Midwife, IBCLC Lactation Consultant, massage therapist specializing in pregnancy, birth and postpartum with an emphasis on Craniosacral Therapy and SomatoEmotional Release, and is an author and nutrition coach focusing on women’s health. I have a license and Masters in Social Work and prior to becoming a doula, I spent 14 years working as a social worker in the community. While I loved getting to know and work with families, my passion lies in helping and supporting women and families in all stages of pregnancy and early parenthood. After having four unique births of my own, ranging from a hospital induction to a home birth, I realized there is a lack of continuous support for women in our society specifically related to pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum periods. Hey there, my name is Jasmine Johnston and I’m from Cincinnati, OH. I am a Full Spectrum Doula and Wholistic infant feeding and lactation consultant. I am a proud gardener and crocheter. I also enjoy yoga, herbalism, vegan food, and wholistic health. I’m not new to care taking, I Have 10 Nieces and Nephews and I’ll always say my younger sister was my first baby. However, it was through my first born that I was reborn myself. While pregnant, I gained a passion for birthwork and gardening. I began to understand the importance of getting connected with earth’s essence and supporting each seed towards their fullest potential. In gardening, each seed knows exactly what to do when given the right environment to flourish. I believe in that philosophy for birthing people. Hi, I’m Sarah, the heart and soul behind RAS Doula Services. My journey to becoming a doula is deeply personal. My husband and I are parents to five beautiful children, and each pregnancy and birth taught me something different about the strength, vulnerability, and power of motherhood. But our story also holds deep loss. In January 2024, we lost our daughter Riley. Her life, though far too short, changed me forever and became a big part of why I chose this path. I want her life to continue to mean something. Supporting other women as they bring life into the world is one of the ways I honor her. Through my own pregnancies and births, I experienced first hand how important it is for a mother to feel supported, heard, and empowered during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. I was incredibly grateful to have my husband by my side each time, but I often think about how different those experiences could have been if I’d also had a trained support person whose sole focus was helping me through every moment of labor. That realization is what led me to become a doula. Along side my training, I bring the lived experience of carrying, birthing, and caring for five children. I understand the physical intensity of labor, the emotional rollercoaster of pregnancy, and the strength it takes to bring a baby into the world. My goal as a doula is simple: to walk along side mothers with compassion, knowledge, and encouragement. I want women to feel confident, informed, and empowered in their birth experience. Cheryl Bartone, MS, HCHI, CLD Cheryl brings a unique element to the birthing world with her passion for health-sciences and her love of natural solutions. She graduated from University of Cincinnati College of Medicine with a Master’s degree in Epidemiology and has worked for The Christ Hospital in a research setting. The birth of Cheryl’s two children had such a positive impact on her that she decided to train with CAPPA to become a labor doula. She wants nothing more than to support women so they, too, can have the births of their dreams. Since hypnosis was the tool that she used to have her own joyful births she completed her training with Hypnobabies to become a certified Childbirth Hypnosis Instructor. When she’s not working on statistics or supporting a mother in birth, you can find Cheryl alongside her chef husband helping him with a catering event. You may even find her playing video games with her children, walking her dogs, or digging in the garden.

Doula-ing (whether I knew what it was or not) has always been a theme in my life, and is something that has become very dear to me in the past few years.
