The cost of a midwife in Huber Heights, OH can be influenced by several factors:

  • Type of Midwife

Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs) who work in hospital settings may have different pricing than Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs) who attend home births or birth center deliveries.

  • Birth Setting

Hospital births with a midwife typically cost less out-of-pocket when covered by insurance, while home births and birth center deliveries may have different fee structures.

  • Scope of Services

Many midwives offer comprehensive packages that include prenatal visits, labor and delivery support, and postpartum care, which can affect the overall cost.

  • Insurance Coverage

Ohio Medicaid covers prenatal, delivery, and postpartum services provided by certified nurse-midwives, reflecting a federal requirement for all state Medicaid programs. Coverage for licensed or certified professional midwives at home or birth-center deliveries depends on the individual plan and is not assured for every Ohio member. With no midwives listed within 60 miles of Huber Heights, provider availability may also affect access. Private insurance coverage depends on the insurer and policy.

  • Experience and Specialization

Midwives with extensive experience, additional certifications, or specializations such as VBAC support or water birth may charge higher rates.

  • Geographic Location

Midwifery costs can vary based on the cost of living and demand for midwifery services in your specific area.

HI. I’m Abbey, the other half of Kindred, a doula partnership I share with my amazing sister-in-law! I am a wife to my long-time boyfriend, a mother to two wild & free girls, a sister, a friend, a nurse, a small business owner, a musician, &, most recently & excitingly, a doula. I live in the rural greater Dayton area on a piece of land back a long lane, nestled against a wood of trees. It’s becoming my oasis, my resting place, our haven to grow and make memories. I am a lover of adventure and the term “settling down” or “forever home” has always terrified me, but the past few years of some intense grief and loss have taught me that a quiet space to grow into your own, to rest, is a gift and a privilege. I am grateful. My mothering tendency is becoming. With the birth of my first came the birth of my mama heart and a wonder beyond wonder. I surprised myself with the way this season was becoming my absolute best one yet. A cumulation of immense loss and grief, another pregnancy, and the birth of my second baby girl, was followed by a season of despair, as I can now call it looking back. A miscarriage followed and left me bare bones and not thriving. Today I find myself growing into who I am as a mama. I find great joy in watching my girls grow and become, great anxiety in the “what ifs” of their little lives, and am overstimulated way easier than I ever imagined possible. You’ll find us playing in the woods, splashing in water of some kind, taking trips to the library & coffee shop, making so many random breakfasts/lunches, meeting with friends, playing dress-up or make-believe of one kind of another, & soaking up the sunshine. When I’m not mumming, I’ll be reading, playing guitar, walking, working as a homecare nurse, having deep conversations with my guy, waxing nostalgic, drinking black coffee or red wine, & eating fruit of some kind, or recently more than ever, sitting & staring to find some mental rest (anyone else?). It’s so good to meet you here. I am so honored to be entering this sacred space of pregnancy, birth, & womanhood, & am looking forward to getting to know you. We’re here for it all, and want more than anything for this to become a “soft space to land”. I pursued my birth doula and lactation support training with a DONA certified doula, and am now pursuing certification myself. I am also a RN-BSN. Although I am not operating from this title while in the birth doula space, I do bring this background and experience.

Hi, I’m Sarah, the heart and soul behind RAS Doula Services. My journey to becoming a doula is deeply personal. My husband and I are parents to five beautiful children, and each pregnancy and birth taught me something different about the strength, vulnerability, and power of motherhood. But our story also holds deep loss. In January 2024, we lost our daughter Riley. Her life, though far too short, changed me forever and became a big part of why I chose this path. I want her life to continue to mean something. Supporting other women as they bring life into the world is one of the ways I honor her. Through my own pregnancies and births, I experienced first hand how important it is for a mother to feel supported, heard, and empowered during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. I was incredibly grateful to have my husband by my side each time, but I often think about how different those experiences could have been if I’d also had a trained support person whose sole focus was helping me through every moment of labor. That realization is what led me to become a doula. Along side my training, I bring the lived experience of carrying, birthing, and caring for five children. I understand the physical intensity of labor, the emotional rollercoaster of pregnancy, and the strength it takes to bring a baby into the world. My goal as a doula is simple: to walk along side mothers with compassion, knowledge, and encouragement. I want women to feel confident, informed, and empowered in their birth experience. Whether it’s your first baby or your fifth, you deserve to feel supported, respected, and strong during one of the most important moments of your life. Being invited into such a sacred moment is something I never take lightly. It’s truly an honor to support mothers and families as they welcome their babies into the world.

Hi! I’m Erica — I am a certified doula, Prenatal Bonding (BA) Facilitator, Clinical Hypnotherapist, Certified Hypnobirthing Educator, and doula trainer with 20 years of experience supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I’m a Certified Birth and Ayurveda Postpartum Doula, Certified Childbirth Educator, with additional credentials in Waterbirth. At Nurture, our collaborative care team also provides elective 3D/4D ultrasounds, Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy, prenatal and postpartum massage, prenatal and mom–baby yoga, and lactation counseling, creating a truly comprehensive and nurturing environment for families at every stage of the journey. I’ve had the privilege of serving over 1,000 families across Cincinnati, Dayton, and Northern Kentucky since 2006, providing evidence-based, heart-centered care that honors both the science and the sacredness of birth. My professional memberships include CAPPA, Birth Arts International, DONA International, and the Association for Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology and Health (APPPAH). In addition to birth and postpartum support, I offer Hypnobirthing classes, prenatal bonding sessions, and mentorship for new doulas throughout Ohio and Northern Kentucky. My approach blends modern mind–body tools with deep emotional attunement, helping families prepare for birth with confidence, calm, and connection. While I’ve also served in leadership roles with the Doula Advisory Group for the Ohio Board of Nursing, the Cincinnati Area Doula Society, the Buckeye Birth Coalition, and the Dayton Area Labor Support, my true passion is walking alongside families—creating space for trust, growth, and empowerment during one of life’s most transformative seasons. If you’re looking for a doula for your birth or postpartum, or a Hypnobirthing class in Cincinnati, Dayton, or Northern Kentucky, I’d love to connect and help you prepare for a birth experience that feels grounded, supported, and uniquely yours.

Erica and I met at the beginning of my second trimester during my search for a doula. I knew immediately after our first meeting that she was the doula for me. Erica has many years of experience and has a really calming spirit. I shared with her my “calling” to have a natural birth and she was so supportive of my goals. She taught me how to use hypnobirthing techniques during the 6 months prior to my son being born. She also helped me to find resources and learn about my options as well as what questions to ask my doctor. I had an amazing birth experience and believe I was able to achieve a hypnobirth. Erica is unequivocally the best doula in the greater Cincinnati area. You won’t go wrong if you choose her! ❤️
