The cost of a midwife in Jacksonville, FL can be influenced by several factors:

  • Type of Midwife

Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs) who work in hospital settings may have different pricing than Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs) who attend home births or birth center deliveries.

  • Birth Setting

Hospital births with a midwife typically cost less out-of-pocket when covered by insurance, while home births and birth center deliveries may have different fee structures.

  • Scope of Services

Many midwives offer comprehensive packages that include prenatal visits, labor and delivery support, and postpartum care, which can affect the overall cost.

  • Insurance Coverage

Florida Medicaid covers certified nurse-midwife care in Jacksonville because federal rules require all state Medicaid programs to include these services. Reimbursement includes prenatal care, delivery attendance, and postpartum care provided by a CNM. Coverage for licensed or certified professional midwives at home or birth-center deliveries depends on the Medicaid plan and does not apply to every member; local choice is modest, with three midwives listed within 60 miles. Private insurance coverage varies by policy.

  • Experience and Specialization

Midwives with extensive experience, additional certifications, or specializations such as VBAC support or water birth may charge higher rates.

  • Geographic Location

Midwifery costs can vary based on the cost of living and demand for midwifery services in your specific area.

When considering hiring a midwife in Jacksonville, FL, it's advisable to research and interview several midwives to find one who aligns with your birth plan, preferences, and budget. During consultations, you can discuss their specific services, insurance acceptance, and pricing structure to ensure you have a clear understanding of what is included and the associated costs.

Hello! My name is Haley and I am a birth and postpartum doula as well as a raw birth photographer located in St. Augustine, FL and serving areas around me, Jacksonville, Orlando, palm coast and come central Florida cities. Prior to becoming a Doula I was a Nurse of seven years and have a wide background in photography. I enjoy all things family, babies and birth! I cannot wait to meet you!

Haley has been such an incredible part of both of my birth experiences, and I truly cannot imagine going through pregnancy and childbirth without her. She was my doula for my daughter two years ago and did such an amazing job that there was never a question that I wanted her by my side again for my most recent pregnancy and birth. Throughout my pregnancy, Haley was always available to answer my questions and ease my worries whenever anxiety set in. She showed up for what felt like a million false alarms and patiently supported me through two weeks of prodromal labor. She was there through every uncertain moment without ever making me feel like a burden or inconvenience. She even managed to capture my maternity photos right before a thunderstorm! When the time finally came to have our baby, things became very intense very quickly. I experienced a tough and incredibly fast labor and delivery, with both babies’ heart rates dropping and complications occurring during the birth. Haley was an amazing source of support throughout everything. After I experienced a postpartum hemorrhage, Haley and her backup doula, Savannah, continued caring not only for me but also for my husband and son while everything was happening. Her care didn’t stop after delivery. Haley captured beautiful Fresh 48 and hospital sibling photos, provided care for my daughter while I recovered before being discharged, and later took newborn and sibling photos that we will cherish forever. She also recently updated our family photos, with a special focus on capturing how much our family has grown and giving us the opportunity to look back and remember the journey that brought us here. Haley is so much more than a doula and photographer, she has become such a meaningful part of our family’s story. From supporting me through two pregnancies and births to capturing some of the most important and emotional moments of our lives, she has been there through it all. I will forever be grateful for her compassion, patience, support, and the beautiful memories she has given our family. I truly cannot recommend Haley enough. 💕

Hello there! My name is Rachel Sultzer and I am a Certified Lactation Counselor, Certified Breastfeeding Educator and Certied Postpartum and Infant Care Doula located in Jacksonville, Florida. My passion for child and family care stems from my start as a childcare provider over twenty (20) years ago. Most recently my role as full time nanny quickly reaffirmed my strength in not only caring for infants and small children, but providing comprehensive family support - especially to new and nursing mothers. After serving as a volunteer “Infant Cuddler” for at-risk infants at the UF Shands neonatal intensive care unit, my dedication to helping children was deepened even more. After watching one of my mamas struggle with breastfeeding and experience first hand the the lack of support and education from the community of people surrounding her, I knew I wanted to do more to help; I had to do more. In July 2017 I received my Lactation Counselor Certification from Healthy Children Project Inc., Center for Breastfeeding. Under the guidance and mentor-ship of Kelly Googe, with Womb to World Doula Services, I have been able to work with lots of mamas in the Jacksonville area. As a Certified Lactation Counselor and Certified Breastfeeding Educator my mission is to educate the public on the importance of breastfeeding; to encourage and empower women to make decisions that work for them and to provide guidance and support during a such a delicate but amazing time in a mama’s life. My motto will always be a happy and healthy mama will always equal a happy and healthy family! As a caregiver I have seen so many families struggle during the fourth (4th) trimester, defined as the first twelve (12) weeks after birth, and even beyond. As a Cerified Postpartum and Infant Care Doula and a Certified Lactation Counselor I strive to enable your family to find confidence by providing everyone with non-judgmental unwavering support, evidence based education and most importantly listening ears. My goal is to validate concerns, provide solutions, and offer guidance based on your family’s needs. I want all of my families to feel supported during the fourth (4th) trimester and beyond. Adding a new little one to the mix can be as equally rewarding and challenging. Let me be there to guide and support you through your new normal! My role is not limited to just mamas and their babies; I am also there to aid the entire family with this new and exciting transition.

I am a very picky person and am stubborn when it comes to what I want. And I knew from the moment I fell pregnant that I not only wanted a doula, but needed one. I spoke to several doula's who I liked, but when I spoke to Bianca...I loved her! From the first moment we spoke we clicked and she made me feel safe in a way no one else had so far. She was there for me day one, and has continued to support me and my bun in the oven since taking my family on! She's caring, kind, compassionate and has a desire to help any and all, and most importantly to me, she hears me, and sees me. I have had so many traumatic experiences with doctors who have bulldozed over me, and acted as though they knew best, and I was terrified that my first birthing experience would be much of the same. But Bianca has given me the peace of mind and the courage to pursue a hospital birth, and I'm confident she will be there to guide me, help me, and advocate for me. I would never dream of using anyone else but her, and I look forward to using her again in the coming years. In her I have found an advocate, a friend, and a companion, and I'm no longer anxious. Thank you, Bianca! From my growing family, to your amazing family! Thank you!
