With a long induction + c-section birth and also a non-medicated VBAC under my belt, I feel well equipped to support all moms. My passion of becoming a Doula started back in December of 2018 when I was a participant in Indiana’s Nurse-Family Partnership program. This program is for economically disadvantaged women who are pregnant with their first child. The program is designed to help support first-time mothers less than 28 weeks with support, advice and information. Each participant is assigned to a personal nurse which meets twice a month up until their baby turns two years of age . After completion of the program I was motivated to help support other birthing persons the way I was supported in my community. So, I began to do research about the profession of a Doula and the role they play in lives of people who are trying to conceive, pregnancy, in labor, delivery, postpartum and infant feeding and I knew in that very moment this was my calling.
