I had the most incredible experience working with Brigid as my birth and postpartum doula. From the moment we met, I knew I was in good hands. She exuded warmth, compassion, and expertise, making me feel supported and empowered throughout my journey. She was a calming presence, helped ease the tension with jokes and stories, provided unwavering support and encouragement every step of the way. She was there to advocate for me and helped me pick out items that my baby would need. When we brought our baby home, Brigid helped us around the home and reminded us to breathe. I loved how she reminded us that babies do not come with a manual and to trust our instincts. She helped with some newborn care, breastfeeding support , and emotional support during those challenging early days of parenthood. Her gentle guidance and reassurance helped me navigate the ups and downs of postpartum life with grace and resilience.

Ashley's journey into the realm of motherhood was marked by challenges, particularly with postpartum anxiety following the birth of her son. The experience, not aligning with her envisioned childbirth, significantly impacted her postpartum transition. This prompted Ashley to delve into the intricacies of childbirth, recognizing a pressing need for maternal support during both the birthing process and postpartum period.Motivated by her own transformative experience, Ashley decided to pursue a homebirth with her daughter, finally obtaining the birthing and postpartum support she had sought. This pivotal moment inspired her to undergo comprehensive training as a birth and postpartum doula. Ashley's commitment to her role is evident in her diverse training background, including certifications from CAPPA, Newborn Mothers Collective, and Birth Arts International. Ashley is currently undergoing training to become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and is actively accepting clients under the guidance of her mentor. We had a great experience with Ashley! She was always available and able to help during both the prenatal and postpartum periods. Her questions were thoughtful and helped me think through our priorities, understand my anxieties, and offer great suggestions for both the birth and postpartum periods. Ashley was at my birth, which was really fast so there was not much time for anything, but she was great at helping my husband know how to be helpful during the birth and offered really good massage and lactation support. She knew my birth preferences front to back and was helpful as the go-between when necessary. She were especially good at calming me down while I was waiting to go into labor and offering tips to activate labor. She is a wealth of knowledge and a fabulous support system during such a vulnerable time.

Working with Alondra was an amazing experience! She was a soothing and knowledgeable presence from the beginning. She was intentional in her communication and fielded all my questions. She genuinely cared about my baby as she checked in with me after all my appointments. She helped me create a birth plan and was super supportive. She encouraged my husbands participation in my labor and birth and made sure he also felt supported during this. As someone who wanted to labor at home and then go to the hospital for a water birth, it came as a surprise to me when my water broke well before labor started. I knew that this increased my risk for infection but Alondra was supportive of my decision to give my body time to allow labor to start naturally. It had been well over 24 hours and my labor had not started which allowed fear and worry to creep in on my husband and I. Alondra made the decision to join us at our house prior to us all going to the hospital. She was able to provide the emotional support both my husband and I needed but didn't realize it. Alondra then came with us to the hospital. Seeing the hospital room and knowing I was going to have to do my entire labor there which was not what I wanted triggered a lot of emotion for me. Alondra created a beautiful moment for my husband and played our wedding song and had us slow dance. It's a moment I'll never forget and am so grateful for. Alondra continued to encourage me to do some exercises and positioning techniques to help quicken labor. Before I knew it, active labor had started without the need for pitocin. Alondra supported my husband through supporting me and also helped with certain positions and techniques to make me as comfortable as possible. Just 12 hours after getting to the hospital, our sweet baby boy was born. Although it wasn't as I had planned, I was still able to have an all natural water birth. I truly would not have been able to do it without Alondra!

Kathleen Stern

Hi, I’m Kathleen Stern—a certified postpartum and birth doula, certified infant feeding specialist and an IBCLC candidate (international board certified lactation consultant), expecting to be certified in 2026. I love working with parents to offer real-time relief and practical tips and to remind them that they’re doing a great job. My goal is to build your confidence and provide relief so that you feel better when my visit ends. Whether you’re a first-time parent feeling nervous/excited or thinking “I don’t know what I don’t know,” or a seasoned parent looking for some more relief this time around, I’ve got you! Prior to working with infants and families, I earned a Masters in Teaching and had a rewarding 15-year education career— teaching students (mostly middle school English), coaching teachers, and helping others recognize their own strengths. I got into the perinatal world after I had a colicky baby in 2014 and was filled with exhaustion, self-doubt, and conflicting advice from well-meaning family and friends. I knew there must be a better way. For my second baby, I worked with a postpartum doula to provide me with the nonjudgmental, hands-on support I knew I would need. The difference between my first and second postpartum experiences prompted me to become a doula and lactation professional. My best advice for expecting families is, “Reach out for help before you think you need it. You're not supposed to be able to do this by yourself.” I live in the North Shore with my 11 and 8 year-old daughters and labradoodle. When I’m not with my family or holding babies, I love to garden, be active, and be by the water.
