In addition to the new strict covid regulations— I was also told the devastating news that I was at high risk for preterm labor. I started researching and reaching out to other birth professionals for advice while doing everything I possibly could to prevent preterm birth. By God’s Grace, I birthed my baby girl at full term! Through my experience, I realized the importance of doulas. My pregnancy and birth awoke a deep desire to be a doula myself. So, I followed my heart! My approach is simple: I meet you where you are. I take the time to understand you and your family's priorities for your birth, and I offer as much (or as little!) education as you'd like. Sending along resources and recommendations tailored to what you need, when you need it. Getting ready together I offer a birth planning session where we walk through what to expect in early labor, once you arrive at your place of birth, and the options available to you during admission, pushing, newborn care, and the third stage. Depending on your desires, I can help advocate when something isn't standard practice, and I'll be right there watching for your preferences on the big day. I also offer an in-person prenatal session for you and your partner, where we go over comfort measures and gold-star labor positions (shoutout Spinning Babies!). As your due date gets closer, I help normalize and support those final weeks — encouraging rest, relaxation, and peace as you prepare to meet your baby. On the big day We're busy! I offer plenty of hands-on support — counter pressure, massage, and continued work on positions to help your baby descend. She is a self proclaimed "book worm", and constantly is found reading books or listening to podcasts that challenge her to dig deeper and learn more. Since 2015, I have served clients as a Birth and Postpartum Doula. In 2021, I became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). I have served over 80 clients having vaginal births after caesarean (VBAC)  planned/unplanned C-sections, vaginal medicated and unmedicated births. I assisted close to 150 families as a postpartum doula, helping them adjust to parenthood with daytime or nighttime visits. I love assisting at births but the greatest joy for me is postpartum work. Families are under prepared for the changes that come during the first 3 months after birth. Having a guide makes the 4th trimester much smoother.

Hi mom to be’s!! I’m Danielle and I am a State Certified Birth Doula and Community Health Worker in the NOVA (Northern Virginia) area. I have been in the healthcare field since I completed my Bachelor of Science at Marymount University where I studied Health Promotion and minored in Public Health. I was concerned during the pandemic about the alarming rates at which black women and women of color were passing away at a time that is supposed to be joyous. With not having kids of my own yet, I would like to put out the good I’d like to receive when my time comes. Educating moms and their partners with welcoming their children and feeling confident to not feel pressured to do anything other than what’s on the birth plan. In 2020, I founded a private practice specializing in pregnancy and postpartum manual therapy. Over the years of practice, I have helped over 300+ women relieve pain, improve mobility, and prepare for birth. My educational journey has included studies at Anne Arundel Community College and Western Governors University, and midwifery studies through the National College of Midwifery while apprenticing under several licensed midwives. I have attended over 50+ births in a mix of hospitals, home births, and birthing centers. My calling toward birth work was born of my own motherhood journey. My first childbirth experience showed me the power of a supportive birth team, but my second reminded me how deeply a lack of support can impact a woman.
