Here is a little background on me (the short version) - I started working at KinderCare during my summers in college. 2016-2018. August of 2018 I started nannying for a 15 month old while I was still finishing my Bachelors Degree. I stayed with that family until I graduated college in May of 2020. (I actually still have contact with this family and remain very close with them.) I graduated college from UMN Twin Cities with a BS in Child Developmental Psychology. After college I worked as an ABA therapist for Kiddos with Autism. Then I moved to a school district and worked in SPED with kiddos with EBD (emotional behavioral disorder). Finally that brings me to my current job 2020-now. I work as a Guardian ad Litem for the State of Minnesota. Essentially a cross between an attorney and a child advocate in the family court system. I am looking for some part time work for a couple of reasons, but the main reason is I recently lost my mom to chemotherapy complications in May of 2024. Since then I have been trying to find things that bring me joy in such dark times. Children are that joy for me. While I work with children in my regular career, I want to get back to my roots in providing direct one on one care for kiddos.

Hello

At Lullaby Nest, we believe that the first five years of a child’s life are fundamentally important for their development so we work closely with families to provide guidance and education while also being respectful and understanding of diverse parenting styles and comfort levels around the sleep training process. We use a holistic approach as we learn about the whole child in order to create unique and appropriate plans. We then walk closely alongside each family until they’ve reached their sleep goals." ~Lullaby Nest Team

As motherhood advocates, we strive to bring forth all the experiences of motherhood, including the many ambivalent feelings we all have. We are also infant sleep educators and specialists. Trained through a neuroscience and attachment lens, we support families and the needs of infants. We educate on biologically normal infant sleep and work to optimize sleep and wellbeing for the whole family. We are sleep supporters not sleep trainers!

Jerriah Marie (She/Her)… is a wellness practitioner, birth worker, and medicine wombman located in the twin cities. When she is not serving families in the birth space you can find her writing poetry, whipping up herbal remedies in her kitchen, and sharing cuddles with her daughter Leilani. Her passion for birth work began at age 5. After witness her first birth, she knew that being a birthworker was her mission. As a young adult Jerriah was always deeply moved by birth and found her way supporting family members and friends during their labor. It wasn't until 2020, after the birth of her daughter, that this spark reignited back into her life and she dove deep into the meaningful work that she now does as a birth worker. "I believe that Birth is sacred, and should be handled with intention. As a birth worker my approach is designed around assisting you in bringing your birth intentions to life, whatever that may look like for you and your family. Birth is such a special moment that many remember for the rest of their lives. My hope as your doula is to ensure you embark on the journey of parenthood feeling educated, supported, and empowered.

"Most of us did not learn when we were young that our capacity to be self-loving would be shaped by the work we do and whether that work enhances our well-being." – bell hooks. This is a quote that has stuck with me as I explore my career path. Becoming a doula is something I did not follow through with until the murder of George Floyd. Seeing the striking images of pregnant Black mothers protesting around the country ignited the fire in me to finally complete my training to become a certified perinatal educator - meaning I can provide childbirth education, prenatal support, labor and delivery support, lactation support, and newborn care support. But my calling to birth work started on the day I was born with my mother being hospitalized for 2 months postpartum from an avoidable mistake during an emergency c-section. I value empathy, collaboration, and being open minded. As a doula, I am intentional about serving my clients in a way that supports self-empowerment, so they feel they have all the information they feel they need to make the best decision for them and their baby/babies. I do not shy away from vulnerability, and I believe this allows me to have relationships with my clients built on trust.

I’m a Perinatal Educator based in Minneapolis, MN, with a deep passion for supporting Black and Brown families. After my own challenging and disheartening labor experience with my first son in 2019, I felt called to make a difference in the lives of others who may face similar challenges. For almost six years, I’ve been advocating for our community, working to ensure that families receive the care, knowledge, and support they deserve. In May 2023, I became a certified Perinatal Educator through Commonsense Childbirth, and since then, I’ve had the privilege of serving many families. I take a holistic approach to perinatal education, focusing not just on the physical aspects of pregnancy and birth, but also on mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. My work is rooted in empowerment, education, and advocacy for equitable, culturally relevant care, and I’m committed to making a positive impact on the lives of the families I serve.

Hi my name is Libby! Having a passion for caring for people and family led me to my love of postpartum care! One of the biggest blessings in life is the ability to carry and bring a new life into this world. I have been working with families for more than 10 years, starting out as a babysitter, and working my way into the doula industry. It would be an honor to care for you and your family. My Name is Tona, and I am passionate about the sacred rhythms of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I have always been drawn to the path of supporting women and birth, and when the idea of a doula was introduced to me many years ago, I knew that it was my calling. There is nothing that lights me up more than being in the birth space with a woman and holding her through this beautiful, raw and powerful initiation. As your doula, I tend to you as a sister, a friend, a mother and a space holder. My mission is to hold you like the village would have held us all.

As a doula, my practice focuses on providing personalized support + information access to birthing people + their families throughout pregnancy, birth + the postpartum journey. My services are designed to complement + enhance the care provided by the birthing person's medical team. I use evidence-based strategies to help my clients prepare both physically + mentally for birth, while also fostering a sense of connection + community.
