I am a full-spectrum doula, offering support in reproductive health, birth and labor, and postpartum care in Connecticut and Rhode Island. I love doula work because I deeply value the one-to-one relationships I build with clients, walking alongside them during one of the most important and transformative experiences of their lives. My passion for supporting, educating, and empowering people giving birth comes from my commitment to addressing the maternal and infant health disparities that disproportionately affect Black women. My goal is to help all birthing people—especially Black women—feel confident, informed, and supported by: learning to trust their bodies, learning to trust themselves to make informed decisions and advocate for the birth experience they desire, and receiving culturally responsive, non-clinical emotional, physical, and informational support before, during, and after birth. It would be an honor to support you on your birth journey. I work collaboratively with you and your support team to create an experience where you feel confident, informed, and surrounded by care, love, and respect. I welcome you to schedule a free, 30-minute consultation to help us get to know one another, decide if we're a good fit and so that I can also answer any questions you may have. This mother of 3 has experienced a lot and I'm here to support you as a birth doula. DONA Certified for Birth and Postpartum support, Certified Lactation Consulting, Certified Childbirth Educator, Reiki certified, Body Ready Method and Spinning Babies Trained for labor prep and comfort measures. As long as I have walked the earth, I have been perceived as a creative to the core, a visual artist, and a classical musician. My BFA in Fashion and Textile Design from FIT helped commit that identity but I was always attracted to helping people and understanding how the body works. A few years later, that curiosity challenged me to enroll in a course that was the complete opposite of what I had always been. I survived, flourished, and was 1 of 7 people to graduate from an intense 40 week program when I became a Certified Surgical Technologist. My graduation coincided with becoming pregnant 3 months later, and 9 months after that I graciously took on my next job, being a mommy! Along the way, I worked on my art, let my CST lapse, picked up my bass to occasionally play in orchestras, and had 2 more babies. My family was my focus but as children got older, I found more flexibility to explore the other facets of myself. I have had the luxury to develop my own body of fine art, play in an international orchestra, and discover the incredible gift of being a doula! My background as an artist and musician has taught me how to improvise and individualize every situation based on essential evidence-based ideals. My focus is to give each family a positive, special birth experience. I utilize professional resources, analogies, images, stories, and humor into our time together. My first support opportunities were with three very gracious young ladies at the Malta House. It was through their need for education that I learned how to teach about childbirth, their right to a beautiful birth experience taught me commitment, and their desire for unwavering companionship taught me how to support. I have since earned additional certifications in lactation consulting, childbirth education, and body preparedness for labor in order to better support women in the perinatal space. I am proud to support women in a variety of environments to help advocate for their desired birth!

I live in Bethany, Connecticut with my husband and children, and it is my honor to walk alongside families during one of the most meaningful moments of their lives. As your birth doula, my goal is to help you feel calm, supported, informed, and deeply confident in your body and your choices. I provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational support throughout labor and birth, gently reminding you of your birth preferences when focus feels hard to maintain. I guide you with visualization, relaxation techniques, and comfort measures to help you stay grounded and connected between surges. After birth, I support those precious first moments—encouraging skin-to-skin bonding and assisting with baby-led, self-latching if you plan to breastfeed—so you can begin your parenting journey feeling empowered and supported. I am DONA International certified in Birth & Postpartum Care, a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) through Healthy Children, a Spinning Babies™ Certified Parent Educator, an Evidence Based Birth™ Instructor, a Placenta Encapsulation Specialist and a Childbirth Educator. I also have extensive experience supporting families who use Hypnobirthing techniques and truly love helping parents create a birth experience that feels gentle, calm, and aligned with their vision. I would be honored to support you in achieving the birth you’ve dreamed of—one filled with trust, confidence, and compassionate care.

Bridgette Ventimilla

Starting at a young age, I had a passion for children and babies. When I was younger, I wanted to be a pediatrician and a mom. I followed down the medical pathway as a CNA in an Intensive Care Unit and I was able to care for a lot of people in very vulnerable moments. Through this I experienced a lot of last moments with people. After becoming pregnant in 2022 and having my son, I realized that I have a passion for assisting women through pregnancy and ultimately through labor and delivery. I decided that I was ready to take this step and turn this passion into an opportunity to serve others in the most beautiful and natural journey that we as women get to encounter. My mission as your birth doula is to support you through your natural journey from pregnancy through childbirth and into motherhood. I take a holistic approach when assisting you with reaching your goals and aim to empower you in making conscious decisions surrounding your birth. I believe that you are in total control of your decisions and support your ability to trust your intuition on what is right for you and your baby. Your body will NOT grow a baby you can't birth.

Bridgette is absolutely amazing! She is so passionate, nurturing, caring, and honestly so fun! She brings an unexpected edgy charm with her and it usually comes out at all the best moments. She will educated, guide, nurture and support you like no other doula will. 100% would hire her for my next birth, but I am moving.

As a Catholic doula and wellness coach, I help Catholic moms achieve holiness through a body, mind, and soul approach to pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I offer prayerful pregnancy planning and coaching through a uniquely faith-based lens, physically support and pray with mamas during labor as a birth doula, and continue to walk with them through postpartum doula services and ongoing wellness coaching rooted in God's design for your body. My Philosophy: - Pregnancy, labor, and postpartum are an experience of God and a call to holiness. - A mother's voice should ALWAYS be respected in her pregnancy, birth, and motherhood. - No mother should have to do all of this alone - physical and prayerful support changes everything. - Fitness and wellness for mothers is less about achieving standards and more about maintaining balance so we can better serve our families.

We had Nicole help us adjust to life with the baby as soon as we came home with our newborn from the hospital. She is very professional and helped us a lot in our early days with the baby - she was an amazing resource for us as new parents. While she helped us with baby laundry, bathing (she gave our baby the first bath, so we watched and learned) , cooking ( she is an amazing cook) , tidying up our house, baby care guidance, more importantly she gave us the confidence that we can do it ourselves! If it was nt for our babies grandparents living with us now, we would have definitely asked Nicole to come back for longer! She was amazing - Thanks Nicole!

Hiring Doula Odessa was one of the best decisions we made. She helped me create a birth plan and shared evidence-based resources that made me feel informed and confident throughout pregnancy. As my due date approached, she was always available and supportive. When winter weather threatened her travel, she arranged a backup doula just in case, but thankfully it wasn’t needed—Odessa drove through difficult conditions to be there early that morning and stayed with us through labor and even after my C-section. She advocated for the birth experience I hoped for while also supporting my husband and me when doctors said an emergency C-section was necessary. Although my birth didn’t go as planned, I felt heard, cared for, and supported by Doula Odessa. She gave me confidence and strength during a difficult experience, and I’m so grateful to have had her by my side.

I had the most incredible experience working with Brigid as my birth and postpartum doula. From the moment we met, I knew I was in good hands. She exuded warmth, compassion, and expertise, making me feel supported and empowered throughout my journey. She was a calming presence, helped ease the tension with jokes and stories, provided unwavering support and encouragement every step of the way. She was there to advocate for me and helped me pick out items that my baby would need. When we brought our baby home, Brigid helped us around the home and reminded us to breathe. I loved how she reminded us that babies do not come with a manual and to trust our instincts. She helped with some newborn care, breastfeeding support , and emotional support during those challenging early days of parenthood. Her gentle guidance and reassurance helped me navigate the ups and downs of postpartum life with grace and resilience.

After birthing three children within a time span of five years, I couldn't help but recognize how overwhelming pregnancy, childbirth and parenting in general can be. I also had an unfavorable birthing experience with my first child. I was young, under-supported with financially limited options and felt "under-qualified" to be part of labor and delivery decision making. I simply left everything up to my obstetrician. I was told what to do and what not to do, what to take, where to go and even when to push. I was rarely asked for consent, but rather told what they were doing to me as they decided to do it. It all felt so clinical, as if I was in the hospital due to an illness rather than a healthy, natural event. I felt lonely, helpless and scared for three days straight. Needless to say, the experience left me wondering what could have been done differently and what choices each pregnant mother has to create a more empowered, positive birthing experience. The moment I discovered doula work, it gave me a sense of relief learning that our society has a support system specially geared for the mother to be guided and assisted through this journey. I personally feel that our culture has brainwashed us to believe that childbirth is simply a painful burden to endure. (Cue television and movie clips where the laboring woman is screaming bloody murder and everyone is rushing around her as if there is a scary emergency to be remedied.) However, with the right knowledge and support, there can be such beauty and empowerment that comes with knowing all of your choices and feeling in control while fully trusting that your body has the capability and the strength to do exactly what it's meant to do - create new life and make miracles happen. I am a certified labor doula (CLD) and certified postpartum doula (CPD) through CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association). I actively attend workshops, courses and continuing education classes on childbirth, hypnobirthing, fetal positioning, breastfeeding, postpartum, baby care basics and holding space for pregnancy loss in the Fairfield County, CT area. I am also Certified in Usui Reiki Levels I & II. I am passionate about childbirth and I work incredibly hard to ensure that my clients have a positive and memorable birth experience however they may envision that to look like. My goal is for you to feel informed, respected and for your voice to be heard by your birthing team in your chosen birth environment.
