Kaleish Ambris

Hey, I’m Kaleish, a public health practitioner, doctoral student (in public health) and a certified full-spectrum (birth and postpartum) doula. I currently hold certifications in providing NICU doula support as well as High Risk doula support. I am currently in training to be a certified community lactation educator. Think of me as your perinatal support person. I support women and birthing people of color who are feeling dismissed, unsure, or overwhelmed during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I started this work because I realized how many women of color are navigating pregnancy without the support, guidance, or advocacy they deserve. It deeply concerns me how often Black and Brown women have their concerns dismissed by medical providers—sometimes resulting in traumatic and avoidable birth experiences. Now, I help women and birthing people of color move from feeling unheard and unsure to feeling informed, supported, and empowered to advocate for themselves and their birth preferences. If you’re a woman or birthing person of color feeling dismissed, unsure, or overwhelmed—you’re in the right place. This journey is yours. I’m simply here to hold space, answer your questions, and make sure you feel safe, seen, and supported every step of the way. Random Facts: I've supported births at Katz Women's Hospital at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, Hungtinton Hospital, NewYork-Presbyterian Alexandra Cohen Hospital for Women and Newborns and NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. I am a lefty/ left handed. I don't have a sense of direction even with a map, however, I will find my way to support you. I was born in the Caribbean and spent most of my childhood and some of my teenage years living there. I love me some 80s and 90s black sitcoms. Book Your Free Consultation: Book Now via https://calendly.com/kaysgentlehands/30min?back=1&month=2026-07

Working with Kay for the birth of my first baby was the best decision we made. She is wonderfully patient, kind, and reliable, checking in frequently throughout a very complicated pregnancy. She was a constant anchor of support for my husband and me--especially as a woman of color navigating the complexities of giving birth. Beyond labor support, she is fantastic with newborns and brings a profoundly calming energy to postpartum care. I am forever grateful for her role in our journey!

Simone has been holding space for expecting and postpartum families for over 10 years. Birth has a powerful way of healing and transforming you, and her first birth did just that. The ability to have 2 empowered births the way she wanted, gave light to the need for advocacy, education and doula support amongst the birthing community, especially black families. Simone is a mother, doula, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, childbirth educator and infant sleep educator. She has been teaching and mentoring doulas along the way and excited to dive deeper into holding the hands of the next generation of birth workers.

I cannot say enough good things about Simone as our night doula and lactation consultant. From the moment she entered our home, she brought a sense of calm, compassion, and expertise that made an immediate difference in our postpartum experience. As a second-time mom navigating recovery, sleep deprivation, and feeding challenges, her presence was nothing short of a gift. She supported our entire family with such gentleness and professionalism. Her overnight care allowed us to get desperately needed rest, knowing our baby was in kind, capable hands. Her lactation guidance was equally invaluable. She offered evidence-based support with zero judgment—troubleshooting tummy issues, providing reassurance, and giving practical tools that worked. Thanks to her help, I went from overwhelmed and in pain to confident and empowered. I did not feel a bit of judgment when I chose to go from breastfeeding to formula due to my baby's tummy issues. She listened deeply, responded thoughtfully, and truly respected our parenting values. She didn’t just care for our baby—she cared for us. If you're looking for someone who is not only highly skilled but also emotionally attuned and reliable, I wholeheartedly recommend Simone. She’s an absolute gem and a vital part of our early parenting story.

I am a Venezuelan born, Miami raised, queer, cis woman who has always been obsessed with babies and everything birth. Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve known that I wanted to work with children and parents. I did everything from teach dance, child wrangle, summer camp counselor, and eventually a full-time nanny. I have worked as a nanny for the last 13 years. I am finally walking the road to becoming a birth and postpartum doula, and I am beyond thrilled to be working with you. My intentions are to bring light, love, safety, and knowledge to families in need of assistance during both birth and postpartum. I believe you should be able to speak freely of any concerns or questions you may have about your pregnancy and newborn. I believe that it is your right to rest and be able to enjoy the journey into parenting, whether it is your first child, or your third.

We cannot recommend Elanor enough. She is an incredible full-time nanny for our family, and has been for the last five years. She handled our first child and then transitioned to handing both when we had our second; she was especially amazing while juggling our newborn and toddler. She is calm, patient, warm, and has never once raised her voice - a quality that has been especially wonderful for our sensitive children. At the same time, she is firm and consistent, sets clear boundaries, and is excellent at discipline in a calm and respectful way. She is incredibly flexible, often staying late or coming early when needed, and even traveled with us on many family vacations, giving us daytime coverage and the opportunity for much needed date nights. She also handles doctor appointments, kids sports/activities, and all the everyday logistics of caring for two young children. She became such a trusted and important part of our family, and we feel incredibly lucky to have her in our children’s lives.

Hi, I’m Jacqueline, but you can call me Jacqui. I’m a full-spectrum doula who believes birth is both sacred and deeply human — not something to “manage,” but something to be supported with care, humor, and grounding energy. My background as an esthetician, medical assistant, and ordained minister means I show up with a calming presence, steady hands, and the ability to connect with just about anyone. I see each family as unique, and I honor every birth plan, every emotion, and every cultural layer that shapes the journey into parenthood. I’m here to hold space, advocate when needed, and help parents feel informed, respected, and genuinely cared for. My philosophy is simple: YOU deserve a birth experience that feels safe, supported, and authentically yours. I show up as both a guide and a teammate — someone who listens first, encourages often, and helps you tap into your own strength. Whether it’s breathwork at 2 a.m., a good laugh when things get intense, or quiet reassurance in the moments that matter most, I’m committed to walking alongside your family with compassion and confidence. My goal is to help you feel prepared, empowered, and never alone during one of the most transformative moments of your life. My hobbies are reading, crafting, hosting karaoke nights at local bars, helping my partner run a part-time catering business and cuddling with our Beagle-mix Emo. I look forward to meeting you!!

Her work is rooted in years of experience supporting women from all paths of life and her own empowering, deeply transformative birth experience which sparked her calling to support other women on the journey of pregnancy, birth and postpartum. Her passion for and knowledge of the pregnant woman’s physiology inform her well rounded practice. Bibi brings passion, encouragement and nourishing energy to all women that cross her path, empowering them through the most magical, difficult moments of labor and birth. She believes that pregnancy and birth are vital to the physical, emotional and spiritual health of children, parents, and our society as a whole and that the bond between children and their parents begins in the womb. The scope of her work is to create a strong foundation for pregnancy, birth and the postpartum time, through yoga, ayurvedic self care practices, nutrition and birth support. She offers a non-judgemental, hands-on, compassionate, calming presence. Her work includes partner coaching, breathing & relaxation techniques, birth art, comfort measures, emotional support and a willingness to serve as her clients find their way through their birth journey. She believes a positive birth experience ignites the flame for empowerment, and is available to all. Being aware of one’s own fears and replacing them with knowledge and resilience to build confidence in one’s own strength and courage is a key element to the process. As your doula she outlines the ‘birth roadmap’ and gives you the tools to gracefully embrace the unique unpredictable nature of birth. “I’m here to hold your hand so you may navigate the deep acceptance that birth requires and the profoundly important transition into motherhood with ease.
