Darcy Sauers is a postpartum doula certified by DONA International, a Certified Lactation Counselor, and the founder of Dover Doula. Since 2010, she has helped hundreds of Seacoast families through the tender first weeks of new parenthood. She's also a certified Prenatal Yoga and Yoga Birth Method instructor, and she lives in Dover with her three grown children. Her passion is the twelve weeks after a baby's birth, an amazing and transformational time in the life of the baby, the parents, and the whole family. As your postpartum doula, Darcy is there to support you through it.

I support families in the weeks and months after baby arrives. In person, virtually, all across Hampton and the surrounding NH towns, southern Maine, and the North Shore of MA. Most nights I'm in your home while you sleep. I handle the feeds, the diaper changes, the 3am stuff, so you can actually rest instead of running on empty. Daytime shifts look different depending on what you need that day. Some families want a hand with the baby. Some want help around the house. Some just want someone there who knows what they're doing. I used to get tangled up in the idea that paid support wasn't as real as a village showing up for free, but I don't anymore. When I was in it myself, some of the people who showed up were paid and some weren't. In the moment, I didn't care which was which. I was just glad someone was there. What matters is whether the person in your house is actually present with you, not just going through the motions. That's what I try to be.

I was a lifeguard for 6 years and that transitioned to the healthcare field which I have been in for the last 5 years. I have always found ways to integrate myself in the pregnancy world, I have worked on labor and delivery units in hospitals, and in an OB/GYN clinic. I have helped friends and family postpartum with their new bundles of joy adapt to this new life. I would love to help you too.
