My son was the reason I became a pediatric sleep consultant because he put me through the ringer with sleep for the first 2.5 years of his life. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Early Education with a major in Learning and Behavior Disorders. She has a background in healthcare outreach where she educates members in closing Gaps in Care and assisting members in overcoming barriers in receiving care. Lynn has a passion for helping families in achieving a healthy sleep foundation which is a vital aspect of living a healthy life. Sleep is as important as nutrition and exercise. Lynn was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. When she is not working Lynn loves to spend time with family and friends. She also enjoys spending time traveling, kayaking, biking, and enjoying the beautiful water front of Buffalo with her husband. Lynn believes that when your family is well rested, you can better handle the day to day challenges that every family face. I am a DONA-trained Postpartum Doula and owner of Sage Support. No experience of my life has been as foundation-rattling as having my first child. My husband and I lived far from family and friends, and - like most - our family had other day-to-day responsibilities that kept them busy. Add in a (short) NICU stay, early feeding challenges, and insufficient paternity leave, and I was a mess. In those early days, in between visits from our mothers and sisters, I constructed a tiny village of “nice ladies” - lactation consultants, speech language pathologists, a weekly breastfeeding group, and a psychologist - to put myself back together and stabilize my daughter’s eating. I believe that our country needs significant policy changes that better support families, birthing people, and infants. In the meantime, postpartum doulas can help fill that gap. I went through DONA postpartum doula and breastfeeding training in January 2021, and I’m working on the final requirements to be fully certified. I will work hard to support your family and refer you to other evidence-based professionals.
