Hi, I’m Emelia. It’s nice to meet you. I’m a birth professional based in Oshawa, ON, with a passion for supporting the whole person and their family through every part of the perinatal journey: emotionally, physically, and mentally. I’m currently certifying as a birth and postpartum doula with DONA International, a fertility doula through Doula School Canada, and a childbirth educator with CAPPA. This allows me to walk with clients through each chapter of their experience in a deeply personal and connected way. My work is grounded in the belief that this season of life deserves care that sees and supports the whole of who you are. Whether you’re preparing for birth, exploring fertility, or finding your rhythm in postpartum, I’m here to offer presence, warmth, and evidence-based support that meets you where you are. Schevon Sandy-Mitchell

As a mother of twin girls, she knows firsthand that parenting can be both beautiful and overwhelming. She also knows the difference it makes when people show up with practical support, encouragement, and care that lightens the load. Those experiences inspired her journey into postpartum work and continue to shape the way she serves families today. Schevon brings a calming presence, a listening ear, and a genuine love for caring for others. Whether she's preparing a nourishing meal influenced by her Trinidadian roots, tidying up while you rest, holding space for the emotions that often come with new parenthood, or simply reminding you that you're doing better than you think, her goal is always the same: to help you feel supported and seen. Grounded by faith, gratitude, and a deep belief in the power of community, Schevon approaches postpartum care with compassion and intention. For families who welcome it, she's happy to offer prayer or words of encouragement, but above all, she wants every parent to feel cared for, strengthened, and never alone. Her hope is that when she leaves your home, you've been able to take a deep breath, get some rest, enjoy a good meal, and feel just a little more like yourself again.

I don’t even know where to begin in describing how grateful I am for Petra and the incredible support she gave me, my husband, and our son born in April 2024. She was, in every sense of the word, the doula of our dreams. We call her our 'fairy godmother.' We were first-time parents who truly didn’t know what we were doing. Petra walked into our home with a calm, reassuring presence that immediately made us feel safe and supported. Petra never made us feel judged or inadequate — instead, she showed us step by step how to care for our newborn, starting with the first step into our house from the hospital, and my question of, "umm, so where do I put him?". From there, she patiently taught us all the practical skills (feeding, burping, bathing, diapering, soothing, etc.), as we had no idea what we were doing. All the books I read while pregnant did not prepare me for the real thing. Petra prepared us for the real thing. More than the “how-to,” Petra gave us peace of mind. She answered every question with kindness and expertise. She normalized our fears, reassured us when we second-guessed ourselves, and reminded us that we were doing a good job. She also cared for us as parents. She encouraged us to rest, to eat, and to breathe. Her presence lifted so much of the anxiety from those early days and gave us space to bond with our baby rather than drown in uncertainty. Petra was everything we hoped for in a doula: knowledgeable, nurturing, reliable, compassionate, and endlessly patient. She went above and beyond. I can say without exaggeration that she helped us survive and truly enjoy those first weeks as a new family. Suyin also contributed to the post-partum support of our family as my lactation consultant. You really just don't know how difficult breast feeding is until you try it! Suyin helped me with latch, positioning, and confidence. Her visits at our home were comfortable and stress-free, and she helped turned breast-feeding into something I could actually enjoy. I can’t recommend her enough!

I’m Kait, a Toronto-based (but very mobile!), DONA International-trained doula who is ready to support you throughout pregnancy, birth, and beyond! I have a strong passion for pregnancy, birth, babies, and supporting new parents, and my patience, care, and understanding nature are what set me apart. I will be by your side as you bring your baby into the world whether at a hospital, birthing centre, or in the comfort of your own home. Once baby is born, I will continue to provide you with educational support as well as encouragement and emotional support as you become acquainted with your baby. I will support your infant feeding journey (breastfeeding or otherwise) and offer household organizational support. Aside from supporting families as they grow, I have a passion for travelling, art, and food!
