Anna Hussey

25 years of experience

Hi, I’m Anna! I’m an early childhood educator, postpartum doula, infant care specialist, developmental therapist, and parent educator with more than 25 years of experience supporting infants, young children, and their caregivers. Throughout my career, I’ve worked in early intervention, developmental therapy, childcare leadership, and family support, giving me the opportunity to help families navigate everything from welcoming a new baby to supporting children’s growth and development. I believe every family deserves to feel informed, supported, and confident as they navigate pregnancy, postpartum, and the early years. My approach is compassionate, practical, and free of judgment. Whether I’m helping parents prepare for life with a newborn, providing hands-on postpartum support, offering developmental guidance, or supporting families through the everyday joys and challenges of early childhood, my goal is to create a calm, encouraging space where families feel empowered and supported. It is a privilege to walk alongside families during such an important season of life.

We had a wonderful experience with Anna, who supported our family overnight for several weeks. From the very beginning, she made an effort to arrive early, learn our routine, understand our baby’s needs, and make sure she knew how we preferred things to be done. Our baby could sometimes be quite fussy at night, and she always handled those nights with patience and calm. She was attentive, dependable, and caring, and we felt completely comfortable having her care for him overnight. It was such a relief knowing he was in good hands, and having her support allowed us to get some much-needed rest. We’re very grateful for all of her help during those early months and would absolutely recommend her to other families looking for a kind, reliable, and caring postpartum doula.

Packages from $200

Maternal–infant health professional with extensive experience supporting families across the prenatal, perinatal, and postpartum continuum of care. I bring a service-oriented, patient-centered approach grounded in evidence-based lactation care, interdisciplinary collaboration, and culturally responsive support. I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Interdisciplinary Doula with hands-on experience in inpatient hospital settings, community-based programs, and private practice. My work has included high-acuity inpatient lactation support, home-based maternal–infant care coordination, peer counseling, and program development serving diverse and Medicaid-insured populations. Throughout my career, I have partnered closely with nurses, midwives, physicians, and community organizations to improve breastfeeding outcomes, strengthen continuity of care, and expand access to maternal health resources. I am highly skilled in client education, crisis-sensitive communication, documentation, data tracking, and managing complex caseloads while maintaining compassion and accuracy. In addition to direct care, I have experience in advocacy and systems-level work, including Medicaid reform initiatives, doula workforce development, volunteer training, and curriculum creation. I am comfortable operating in both clinical and non-clinical environments and bring strong organizational, technical, and communication skills to every role. I am currently pursuing my Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN, RN) while continuing to advance my work in maternal–infant health. I am passionate about improving care delivery, strengthening health equity, and supporting families during one of the most critical periods of their lives.
