Linna Wilkins

26 years of experience

Helping families welcome their little ones into the world is my calling and purpose! I am a former L&D nurse, who chose to be a doula so because laboring families deserve consistent, focused, support evidence-based information so they can best advocate for themselves during one of the most transformational times in their lives. Because of the challenges nurses face in hospital settings, I did not have the time or resources to provide this level of support to families. I started Womb to World Birth and Lactation Support Services so that I can use my years of clinical, training and business experiences to create a community that is respectful, supportive and empowering to families of all types. Our motto is YOUR BIRTH EXPERIENCE. YOUR WAY. I would love to support you in creating your joyful birth story.

As a supportive husband i understood my role was to step up to this new challenge of being part of the birthing process and often felt that a Doula would be diminishing my role. My wife came across Linna and after our first few meetings she helped me understand how being a mentor to us and bringing her vast experience was actually more helpful. I feel lucky that we met her and signed up immediately. She really went above and beyond. During intense labor, Linna didn't just support my wife; she coached me. She provided clear, actionable guidance that eliminated my panic and allowed me to focus entirely on my wife's emotional needs. Instead of feeling helpless, I felt effective and truly present. She empowered me to be the best support I can be. She not only was coaching us on the birthing process but also made sure to check on us weeks after the birth to make sure we were adapting well to our new role as parents. Linna will always be a part of our first born's beautiful birth story. It was the single best decision we made for the birth. experience and highly recommend her services.

Hallie Rogers

I’m Hallie, the founder and CEO of Better Beginnings. My passion for supporting women and families through the incredible transformation into parenthood began with my own journey. After experiencing the challenges of the postpartum period with my first two children, I felt called to create a resource that could make this transition smoother and more supportive for others. That’s how Better Beginnings was born. Today, I’m proud to lead one of Minnesota’s premier teams for postpartum doula and lactation support. Our team is highly trained and deeply committed to providing compassionate, expert care to families during this pivotal time. As a certified lactation counselor and certified postpartum doula, I’ve spent over a decade working with mothers and families, helping them navigate the early days and beyond with confidence and reassurance. My work is grounded in both personal experience and professional expertise—I’m a mother of four, and I know firsthand how deeply the journey into motherhood transforms us. Supporting families isn’t just my profession; it’s my calling. My mission is to make quality postpartum care accessible and to create a nurturing community for mothers as they embrace each stage of motherhood and self-discovery. I’m grateful to share in this journey with you and look forward to supporting you along the way.

What a gift to work with Better Beginnings! Hallie and her team were so prompt and helpful from start to finish, making sure we had what we need to choose the right offerings for our birth and were so gracious about all of our questions along the way. We loved working with our doula Cyrese - She went above and beyond to check in, encourage, and support us in all the weeks leading up to birth and through our delivery, sharing so much knowledge and cheering us along the whole way. We felt so loved and supported in our preparations for birth and welcoming our little one to our home - We would warmly recommend Better Beginnings to any mama and family welcoming a new baby!

Christelle Hagen

Are you looking for a safe and experienced guide to accompany you throughout your parenting journey? I am an experienced natural women's health educator, childbirth educator, certified birth and postpartum doula, certified Baby Signs instructor and Certified Breastfeeding Counselor who believes in giving you the information you need to make informed choices that are right for you and your growing family. While I support natural choices, I understand that circumstances sometimes require adjustments to our hopes and plans and I can give you practical information to guide you as you make these difficult decisions. As a certified perinatal loss doula trained in Psychological First Aid, I am prepared to help families in challenging and unexpected situations as well. The mission of my nonprofit is to "accompany families through the joys and sorrows of birth and parenting."

Recent review

Christelle is always lovely and helpful, providing kind encouragement as she draws from extensive experience with her own children and the children of many other families. I have asked her for advice or information on many aspects of mothering in the Catholic Nursing Mothers' Group. Outside of that group, I have sought her perspective on the prospect of pain in natural birth, hypnobirthing, breastfeeding my newborn who was exhibiting frustration by screaming when I tried to feed him, and healing an infection related to nursing. Even though she must be so busy with her own large family, she takes time to respond promptly to my questions. I am so glad to know Christelle and look forward to consulting her about more topics in the future!

My name is Maggie Mau, and I am a mom of two girls and two very sweet rescue pups, Hopper and Eleven. My partner is a longtime teacher for Saint Paul Public Schools and we have lived in the South Como neighborhood in Saint Paul for the last 15 years! As a family we enjoy camping, hiking and exploring our country’s beautiful national parks. It is not odd to find us hammocking up at Como park, picking mulberries and reading :) I enjoy running, gardening, reading and baking and hosting regular gatherings of family and friends. I have been in the Twin Cities nonprofit sector my whole career, and the passion that I feel for the success of individuals and families in our community is now being carried forward in a different, but equally important way – through the support and empowerment of families as they navigate their birth journeys. I believe in leading with empathy and deep listening, in order to best support families to create their own powerful birth experiences. I feel humbled and honored to be able to share space and offer support to you - the amazing parents and parents to be!

Recent review

Choosing a doula was an unknown for us, but from the moment we started our interview process with Maggie, we were immediately put at ease. Her calm demeanor and personable attitude were exactly the kind of energy we knew we would need during such a stressful and transformative time. She spent almost an hour actively listening to our needs and wants during our initial consultation, which spoke volumes about her dedication. While it would take a book to summarize our entire prenatal, delivery, and postpartum journey, Maggie was there by phone every step of the way, and was an absolute joy and kind soul to have in the pre-delivery and delivery rooms. While people certainly welcome babies without a doula, having an individual like Maggie by our side during what was the hardest thing we've ever experienced made us feel like everything would be okay. We would recommend Maggie for doula services in a heartbeat.

Your friendly neighborhood birth doula here to support YOUR birth! Daisy Doula MN attends hospitals, birth centers, and home births. A doula works alongside you in the prenatal, birthing time, and postpartum. I am a birth doula residing in South Minneapolis. I have a lot of interests and passions that led me to find birthwork. I find it perfectly intersects science and data, bodywork and movement, direct advocacy, and human connection. I love to laugh and cry with you, holding space for your emotions and experiences. I enjoy sharing my knowledge while being curious about everything I don’t know. After completing a B.S. at the University of Minnesota and a stint living in France, I started working as a consultant for our local utility companies, implementing an energy efficiency program for new home construction. By this time I was deep into a yoga practice and took a yoga teacher training at Yess Yoga in 2018. I learned so much and it exposed me to many holistic practices within the 8 limbs of yoga. Meanwhile, my all-female consulting team started expecting. They would come to the office with so much new information and questions after doctor/midwife appointments, not to mention what everyone was saying on the internet! I was so curious about it all! I discovered what a doula was and that people did it as a profession. Not long after I am happy to say I found a doula training and haven’t looked back.

Maria was an amazing source of support, wisdom, and 5 hours of hip squeezes! My husband and I felt so confident and prepared for childbirth (as much as you can as first time parents) due to Maria’s guidance throughout the pregnancy. From day 1, Maria was comfortable and fun to work with! We cannot recommend her enough.

Laurie Andrews

I'm Laurie Andrews, DPT, IBCLC, providing in-home pediatric physical therapy, lactation consulting, infant bodywork, and parent education throughout Central Iowa. As a Doctor of Physical Therapy with more than a decade of pediatric experience and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), I specialize in helping infants who struggle with feeding, movement, and developmental challenges. My mission is to identify the root cause of your baby's difficulties—not simply treat the symptoms. My whole-body approach combines pediatric physical therapy with lactation support and gentle infant bodywork techniques, including infant massage and craniosacral therapy. By evaluating posture, movement patterns, muscle tension, oral function, and feeding mechanics together, I help babies feed more efficiently, move more comfortably, and reach developmental milestones with confidence. I believe parents are the most important members of their baby's care team. That's why every visit includes hands-on education, coaching, and practical strategies you can confidently use at home. I also offer parent classes focused on infant development, feeding, tummy time, infant massage, and early motor skills to help families support their baby's growth from day one. All appointments are provided in your home throughout Central Iowa, allowing your baby to receive individualized care in a familiar, comfortable environment. Together, we'll help your baby feed better, move better, and thrive.

Laurie came along at the absolute perfect time in our feeding journey with our baby and we are incredibly grateful for her help. We had worked with lactation with little success. Our baby had been falling asleep at feeds, struggling with bottles and could not breastfeed effectively. She was able to assess her from the comfort of our own home and pinpoint exactly why she was struggling with feeds and was also able to help identify other areas she could use some extra support in. We’ve learned SO much and our baby has made a huge amount of progress in a short amount of time. In just one session, we saw improvement in her recessed jaw and tension, better feedings, better sleep and less congestion. Two months later and she’s blossomed and is hitting her milestones and feeding like a champ with Laurie’s help. Laurie is an expert in her field and has dedicated herself to learning, attending conferences and gaining additional certifications. She is incredibly knowledgeable in all things feeding related as well and was instrumental in helping us meet our goals and set her up for success with meeting other milestones later on. We can’t recommend her enough!!! We’re excited to attend her classes as well!

Laurie has been amazing for my baby! Prior to meeting Laurie, my baby was extremely tense and fighting every nap and bedtime tooth and nail. I noticed a difference after just one session! It’s like I have a different baby because she overall just so much happier! I would highly recommend Laurie to any other family needing PT services.

— Samantha Janda, review of Laurie Andrews April 2026

I can’t say enough great things about Laurie! She is incredibly knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. It's been so helpful that she comes to our home. Not having to bundle up and take my baby out in the cold has been such a relief and makes everything so much less stressful. She takes the time to really understand my child’s needs and create a personalized plan, she’s organized and always making sure we’re moving in the right direction. It’s been really helpful having her support with improving nursing, especially when my brain is sleep deprived. She explains things in a way that’s easy to understand and actually doable in the moment. She does a fantastic job communicating and giving helpful strategies to continue progress at home. Highly recommend!
