What's the Cost of Hiring a Midwife in Round Rock, TX?

The cost of a midwife in Round Rock, TX can vary depending on factors such as the type of services provided, the experience of the midwife, and whether the services are for a home birth, birth center delivery, or prenatal and postpartum care. On average, midwife services in the area may range from $3,000 to $6,000 for comprehensive care, including prenatal visits, labor and delivery, and postpartum care. Some midwives may offer payment plans, and certain insurance plans might cover part of the cost. It is best to contact local midwifery practices in Round Rock for specific pricing and details.

The cost of a midwife in Round Rock, TX can be influenced by several factors:

  • Type of Midwife

Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs) who work in hospital settings may have different pricing than Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs) who attend home births or birth center deliveries.

  • Birth Setting

Hospital births with a midwife typically cost less out-of-pocket when covered by insurance, while home births and birth center deliveries may have different fee structures.

  • Scope of Services

Many midwives offer comprehensive packages that include prenatal visits, labor and delivery support, and postpartum care, which can affect the overall cost.

  • Insurance Coverage

Whether insurance covers the cost of a midwife in Round Rock, TX, depends on your specific insurance plan and the midwife's credentials. Many insurance plans, including Medicaid, may cover midwifery services, especially if the midwife is a certified nurse-midwife (CNM) affiliated with a hospital or birthing center. However, coverage for home births or services provided by licensed midwives (LMs) or certified professional midwives (CPMs) may vary. It's essential to contact your insurance provider to confirm coverage details, including in-network providers, reimbursement rates, and any out-of-pocket costs.

  • Experience and Specialization

Midwives with extensive experience, additional certifications, or specializations such as VBAC support or water birth may charge higher rates.

  • Geographic Location

Midwifery costs can vary based on the cost of living and demand for midwifery services in your specific area.

When considering hiring a midwife in Round Rock, TX, it's advisable to research and interview several midwives to find one who aligns with your birth plan, preferences, and budget. During consultations, you can discuss their specific services, insurance acceptance, and pricing structure to ensure you have a clear understanding of what is included and the associated costs.

Hi! My name is Annie Miller, I apprenticed under an elder doula in my area and have attended 14 births in the last 8 months. I believe that birth is sacred and the mother knows what’s best for her and the baby. I would be honored to support you and your family.

Annie was an incredible support before, during, and after my birth! She met with my husband and I several times before my birth and ensured that we had the opportunity to share our desires and vision for the birth experience. She is empathetic and encouraging and always positive while also being realistic. She was the first member of my birth team we called when I went into labor and she came to our house promptly even though it was the middle of the night. From the minute she answered the phone I felt her calm and steady support. Once she arrived, she immediately jumped into action to support me with both verbal affirmations and hands-on work like hip squeezes and reminders to keep my muscles relaxed. She also encouraged my husband in his support of me and deftly gave him suggestions when he was unsure. (As this was our first baby, this was very reassuring for him, as neither he nor I had experienced birth before.) All throughout my long labor, Annie remained a stable, reassuring presence who helped me stay in the zone and always affirmed that I was strong and capable and was going to meet my baby soon! She and my husband were extremely hands on through the end of my pushing phase. Annie helped me get into different positions and used strategies to help me push more effectively. After my baby was born, Annie helped me to recover and clean up. She made me feel strong and beautiful as I came back to myself following birth. Throughout the whole birth, Annie was a great support and presence in encouraging me and jumping in without hesitation to help in whatever way she could. I highly recommend her as a doula!

I am a certified midwife in both Europe and the US, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), and a Natural Family Planning coach with the Marquette Method. With over 20 years of experience in holistic birth, I’ve worked in Belgium, France, and the US, including hospitals, private practice, and Birthing Center. My husband and I moved from France to Austin, Texas, in 2012 with our two eldest children, and our youngest son was born right here in Austin. Talk about a Texan welcome! I’m also a certified Haptotherapist, having received my certification from CIRDH in 2012. Haptonomy, widely used in Europe, helps parents-to-be function as partners in parenting before birth. I’m proud to be the only practicing Haptotherapist in the US. Here are some of my certifications: Certified Nurse Midwife ( EIULB 2000-2204 Bruxelles Belgium) Pre-Postnatal Aquatic Childbirth Education (Aquarius @Ostende Belgium, 2005) Haptonomy therapist Certification (CIRDH, 2012 Paris) Certified Professional Midwife (NARM 2016, US) International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (2023, US) Marquette Method NFP Teacher (2024, US) Certified Low Milk Supply Specialized Healthcare Professional (2025, US) My passion for motherhood and birth drives me to help others experience a calm and stress-free birth. I love being a midwife and Lactation consultant; supporting and empowering women is my true calling. I am dedicated to guiding mothers through their breastfeeding journey. Helping them overcome challenges and ensuring they have a positive and successful experience with breastfeeding is incredibly fulfilling.

Hello my name is Nia, I was introduced to the wonderful world of birth work during my sister’s pregnancy. As I was helping the practitioner, she hinted at the fact that she was a Doula. Adding, that I would do well in that field due to my caring nature. After more research, I began seeing the need for this service and fell in love with this industry. In 2019, I became a Dona trained Birth Doula, obtained certifications in: Newborn Care Specialist (NCS), Postpartum Doula(PPD), Basic Life Support(BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), CPR, First Aid and trained in Benkung Belly Binding. I’ve had the pleasure of supporting parents with their newborns days and nights, provided care for families across states, families with multiples, parents with disabilities and supported births in both hospitals and birth centers. I’ve learned to be more understanding, open to new ideas and sensitive in different situations. It’s everything I thought it would be and more. I still find the time to be a supportive wife to my husband, homeschool my son, sing , brush up on my Spanish even play Pickle ball. I hope to support as many families as I can while enjoying this adventure, looking forward to being apart of your families’ journey!

We had such a wonderful experience working with Nia as our night nurse coordinator. From the very beginning, she was professional, responsive, and incredibly supportive during such an important transition for our family. She matched us with Susie and Tona, who were both absolutely wonderful, and together they helped us establish a healthy sleeping routine for our son, Miles. Nia consistently checked in, made the process feel seamless, and truly cared about making sure we felt comfortable and supported. Thanks to her coordination and guidance, we now feel confident and settled into a great routine at home. We are so grateful for the care, communication, and overall experience. I would highly recommend Nia to any family looking for compassionate, reliable overnight newborn support.

Brigette was a wonderful doula for us! I personally interviewed many potential doulas for my birth and Brigette really stood out. Not only is she skilled in her practice but she has a great passion for what she does. During our appointments in advance of the birth, she brought resources and provided clear answers to our questions. And during the birth, Brigette came to support me in the middle of the night when my labor started, all the way through to the hospital where my birth story ended with the arrival of my little girl. Even after the birth, Brigette has been a wonderful support, checking in with us regularly and doing what she can to answer questions and provide additional resources. I highly recommend her!

I became a birth doula because I am in awe of the strength and wisdom of women. It is an honor to help you tune into the wisdom of your body, and to support your family as they learn how to support you. I help you find your breath when things get big. I remind your partner how to hold you. I help create a quiet, womb-like space—dim lights, soft sounds, warm water, and anything else that helps you feel safe, grounded, and undisturbed. I attend home births, birth centers, and hospital births. Wherever you feel safe is the right place to have your baby. My job is to help regulate the space, so that you can surrender. I offer peace of mind, solid education, and steady presence so you can meet this experience with courage. My care is personalized and client-led. I follow your rhythm. My approach is grounded in the belief that women already have everything they need within them to safely and instinctively bring their babies into the world. Whether this is your first baby or your sixth, your birth matters. Each one is a new journey, a new chance to grow and expand and meet yourself in a whole new way.

Hannah is a fantastic doula! She has so much information to share in the prenatal appointments that made me feel that much more prepared. She was present during my long labor - day and night - and offered so much support to me and my husband during the process. And her helping hand during my postpartum period was much appreciated as well. I'm so glad she was a part of my birth experience and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a kind, caring, and dutiful doula.
