The cost of a lactation consultant in San Clemente, CA can be influenced by several factors:

  • Type of Certification

International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs) typically charge more than Certified Lactation Counselors (CLCs) due to their advanced training and ability to handle complex breastfeeding issues.

  • Visit Type

In-home visits generally cost more than office visits or virtual consultations. Many consultants in San Clemente offer telehealth options at reduced rates.

  • Insurance Coverage

California Medicaid provides partial coverage, paying for lactation counseling when a medical provider delivers or bills for the service. Payment directly to an independent IBCLC outside a clinic or the WIC peer-counseling program is limited. San Clemente families can choose among 93 lactation consultants within 60 miles. For private insurance, federal requirements generally call for most plans to include breastfeeding support and breast pumps with no out-of-pocket cost.

  • Number of Sessions

Some consultants offer package deals for multiple sessions, which can be more cost-effective than paying per visit, especially for ongoing breastfeeding challenges.

  • HSA and FSA Eligibility

Lactation consulting is an IRS-eligible medical expense, meaning you can use HSA or FSA funds to cover the cost without paying taxes on those dollars.

  • Experience and Specialization

Consultants with specialized expertise in areas like tongue ties, premature infant feeding, or relactation may charge higher rates.

When looking for a lactation consultant in San Clemente, CA, it's a good idea to check with your insurance provider first, as many plans cover lactation services. Interview several consultants to find one who fits your needs and budget, and ask about their specific credentials, experience, and what each session includes.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the amazing Mariah ! She provided a type of care I truly wasn’t prepared to receive for my entry into motherhood. Not even thinking a doula would be a necessary as a new mom I’m so glad I decided to give it a shot. As our postpartum doula, she was simply incredible offering both overnight and daytime support with a level of care, compassion, and professionalism that far exceeded mine and my husband’s expectations. Mariah was attentive to every need, making sure I felt supported not just physically, but emotionally throughout the months I was lucky to have her support. She created such a peaceful environment for both me and my baby, and I always felt at ease knowing she was there. Literally after the first time of overnight I gave her my baby and didn’t have any hesitation which as a mom is not something I have experienced for anyone other than my husband and mom. What truly sets Mariah apart is how consistently she went above and beyond to make sure I knew every detail when she had my baby. No matter how last-minute a request was, she found a way to help without hesitation. Her flexibility, kindness, and genuine dedication made such a difference for our family, and we are forever grateful for her. I would highly recommend Mariah to anyone looking for a postpartum doula who truly cares and brings heart, skill, and thoughtfulness to everything she does. She was truly a blessing to our family.

Brianna has been incredibly helpful in my journey to feeding my child. From breast-feeding, to proper latch, to weight gain, to finding and changing formulas, then fully weaning my child… She has been there alongside me, helping me be the best version of myself. She has the most kind and supportive demeanor. Although I started off feeling a lot of frustration on my feeding journey because I couldn’t breast feed how I wanted, I’ve only ever felt my baby and I were supportsd loved and cared for by Brianna. Ultimately we developed the perfect latch for my son and the perfect milk supply. I never got mastitis once even while I was weaning him and drying up milk. I’m so grateful I had Brianna to help me navigate my feeding journey because it went so smoothly! I also used her night nanny services and she and her team were outstanding in supporting me a few days a week to give me a little time to myself and give me tips and tricks for navigating the newborn stage at night! Thank you so much Brianna, I’m a better version of myself because of your support!

With years of experience as a midwife and birth professional, I support families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with a holistic, grounded approach that honors both physiology and personal choice. Whether you are planning a home birth, hospital birth, birth center delivery, medicated or unmedicated experience, my role is to help you feel fully prepared — physically, emotionally, and mentally — for the birth you desire. My pregnancy bodywork sessions are designed to support optimal fetal positioning, pelvic balance, and nervous system regulation. When the body is aligned and tension patterns are released, babies can settle into ideal positions and labor often unfolds more smoothly. A regulated nervous system allows you to feel safer, more present, and more empowered — which can significantly impact both birth and postpartum recovery. In addition to hands-on bodywork, I offer comprehensive childbirth education that prepares you for the realities of labor, informed decision-making, partner support, and postpartum recovery. My goal is not to push a specific birth path, but to equip you with knowledge, confidence, and tools so you can navigate your experience feeling supported and in control. I bring both clinical insight and steady presence. I understand the nuances of hospital systems and home birth environments, and I help families advocate for themselves while staying connected to their intuition. Birth is a rite of passage — and preparation matters. When your body is balanced, your nervous system is regulated, and your mind is informed, you enter birth grounded and ready. It is an honor to walk alongside families as they prepare to welcome their babies and step into parenthood with confidence.

ANGELINA, we have already made it clear to you. You have already went to yelp. We have reviewed your reviews., you go around making bad reviews because at a snap of a finger, one time visit we could not make due to an emergency induction for another mom. Out of 300 births, you are the only person who has ever tried to hurt my business the way you have. I personally feel that you have to heal in your postpartum that’s a priority to me versus my feelings at this point I have parted ways with you for more than one reason this is a public platform and I will not disclose any of your personal information. I did an absolutely fantastic job as doula , I did not ask you to write a review on this website, you made flaws claims and accusations about contracts. I have never made anyone sign. You made false claims about me not being communicative with you about a postpartum visit. You made false claims in regards to my professional professionalism. I helped watch your sweet baby boy while you were able to have a successful delivery. I have treated your family with absolute respect. But one thing I will not tolerate about my business as false accusation.. I will not move forward with any type of care in the future, and we have parted ways.
