I also offer breastfeeding support and guidance on safe sleep practices, helping families feel empowered with evidence-based information and gentle techniques that fit their unique needs. Originally from Brazil and now based in California, I speak English and Portuguese and love serving families of diverse cultures and backgrounds. Gabi was great! We did not have overnight postpartum support with our first baby, so we were not sure what to expect or how much of a difference it would make. Having Gabi with us proved to be immensely helpful and made those early weeks feel far more manageable. Communication with her was effortless, and we could always count on a prompt, thoughtful response. She was consistently punctual and dependable, which gave us one less thing to think about during a demanding time. She listened closely, remembered every detail, and adapted seamlessly to the way we wanted our baby cared for. Most importantly, she earned our trust pretty much immediately. Of everyone who helped us during the postpartum period, she was the person we felt most confident leaving our baby with. We feel incredibly fortunate to have had her support and recommend her with no hesitation.

Childbirth has always been very intertwined with my life. I owe some of that to my mother, who planned home births for all of her children. I am the oldest of us four, and my labor was long and hard. I grew up hearing the story of the four day marathon of labor, hospital transfer, and, ultimately, the beautiful birth that brought me into the world. My brother was born when I was almost three, on a hot July day. I have some memories of this day, but nothing very clear. My mom remembers me bringing her a cool glass of water between contractions. Some might say I became a doula that day. When I was 6, my mom became pregnant again. I was absolutely thrilled to be having a baby sister. I remember going to midwife appointments at the midwife’s home in Sebastopol, listening to my sister’s heartbeat, and enjoying every moment of it. Her labor started some time during the night. This time, it was Winter. My mom spent most of her labor in front of the woodburning stove in our living room with my dad applying counter pressure to her back. I remember she had thigh high socks to wear specifically for labor, because she didn’t want to wear pants, but knew her legs would be cold. In the early afternoon, she began pushing on our couch. The midwives were always close by, creating a sense of safety and calm, one of them singing as my sister was born. I stood at the end of the couch, and saw my sister’s head slowly emerge, and then the rest of her body slip out. She immediately went to my mom’s chest and crawled to the breast herself. I was entranced by birth at this moment. In the weeks after, I told my mom I wanted to become a midwife. The last baby was born when I was 10 years old. I was again elated to be around pregnancy and looking forward to the birth. My mom labored all through the night, and when the sun rose, her intuition told her she needed to go to the hospital and get some rest. No one thinks that a fourth baby will take 17 hours to be born, but sometimes they do! After my mom got a few hours of rest, my grandparents took us to the hospital to join her. She felt that birth was a family affair, and believed that children should be a part of birth. I also would have been furious with her if I didn’t get to be there. My sister entered the world, and I got to cut the umbilical cord and be the first to hold her after my mom. I took my first doula training with Connie Sultana in 2024 and since then have attended almost 50 births. I am in constant pursuit of knowledge, each birth teaching me something different. I am now a Cornerstone Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula and Evidence Based Birth® instructor. I am always striving to be able to provide the best support I can for my clients. I am currently pursuing becoming a Certified Nurse Midwife. As of 2026, I have completed nursing prerequisite courses, including biology, chemistry anatomy, physiology, and microbiology and look forward to beginning an RN program in Fall of 2026. I use the knowledge I have gained of the human body through my formal education to help inform the support I provide so that my clients can understand what is happening with their body and their baby. For most people, childbirth is the time in their lives where they will be asked to be the most medically literate, which is intimidating for most working outside of healthcare. The education I have has given me the language and tools to communicate and learn from nurses, midwives, and doctors during births, so that I can understand and interpret information for my clients. After becoming a registered nurse, I plan to attend graduate school to obtain my degree and certification as a Certified Nurse Midwife and practice in a hospital based setting.

Maggie is a remarkable human being and Doula! With my planned C-section, I wasn’t sure how a doula would be able to support my experience. Before my son’s birth she provided a whole binder full of helpful resources and an easy template for creating a birthing plan. At the hospital before my surgery she was a wonderful advocate and made sure all my providers were on the same page. Her calming presence, along with the grounding exercises she lead, helped me go into my birth in the right headspace. In the post-op room she was there to help my baby boy get a good latch right away. Breastfeeding has been such a positive experience and I have Maggie to thank for that! I always looked forward to her visits as she is a true baby whisperer. Maggie was super supportive with tasks like nail trimming, pumping, bottle feeding, bathing, and holding the baby so I could tend to myself. I can’t recommend her highly enough!

We absolutely loved having Amy's help during my postpartum period. She was so reliable, helpful, knowledgeable, and a pro. We trusted her wholeheartedly to care for our little newborn. She also was a calming presence that put us at ease from night 1. We appreciated everything she taught us and for the extra sleep she allowed us to get that first month!

Birth is unpredictable. Being prepared doesn't have to be. Do you ever wonder... - Will I know when it's really time to go to the hospital? - What happens if my birth doesn't go according to plan? - How can I avoid feeling overwhelmed during labor? - Will my partner know how to support me? - What if I need an induction, epidural, or even an unexpected C-section? - How do I make confident decisions in the moment? When we work me, I'll help you prepare for the birth you actually have—not just the one you hope for. I support both normal and high-risk pregnancies through personalized prenatal coaching. You'll understand what to expect from the first signs of labor through the Golden Hour, learn how to navigate unexpected situations, communicate confidently with your healthcare team, and approach birth feeling informed, empowered, and ready. I proudly serve families covered by Kaiser Permanente, giving birth at Oakland, Walnut Creek, Antioch, and Vallejo. I also support all Medi-Cal patients, regardless of health plan. If you're delivering in Contra Costa County or at Kaiser, I'll join you in person for your hospital birth. Families outside the area can receive the same comprehensive birth preparation through convenient telehealth appointments. I'm a Doctor of Public Health and Certified Birth Doula, originally trained by UC Davis Medical Center to support high-risk births, where I continue to volunteer. I later completed certification through DONA International and maintain current background clearance and medical clearance. Ready to prepare with confidence? Faith had truly become an extension of our family for the first 3 months of our daughter's life! We started working with Faith when our daughter was less than a week old, and from the beginning she brought such a calm, confident, and warm presence into our home during the chaotic time of early parenthood with a newborn. She is very trustworthy, prompt, and reliable. For my husband, she represented safety and stability as he knew our daughter was safe and we could have a good night's sleep. For me, she was also a trusted mentor into motherhood - both from her professional training and her experience of being a mother to 3 children. She helped me navigate breastfeeding/pumping and how much my baby was eating, she taught us how to calm an overtired crying newborn, hunger vs overtiredness cues, transitioning from a swaddle to a sleep sack, fussiness from vaccines, and more. After 3 months of working with Faith 5 nights per week, we felt like we were finally ready to 'graduate' from Faith and tackle parenthood ourselves as our daughter was easily sleeping 9+ hour stretches at night in her bassinet! I cannot overstate how grateful we are to Faith for her help and guidance with our daughter during those first 3 months - we would have been lost (and extremely sleep deprived) without her. I know she enabled me to be a better mother to my daughter during the days and to have time heal from birth. Faith will be one of our first calls if we have more children! We would love the opportunity to work with her again.

Having Lynda as my doula was one of the greatest blessings during such a vulnerable and life changing season. From the very beginning, she created a space where I felt safe, heard, and completely supported. Her calm presence reassured me in moments of uncertainty, and her knowledge gave me confidence in every decision I needed to make. She did not just care for me physically, she cared for me emotionally. Lynda took the time to explain things clearly, offered practical guidance, and supported my choices without judgment. That balance of professionalism and compassion made all the difference. What touched me most was the way she extended that same warmth and patience to my daughter. She was gentle, attentive, and genuinely kind, which meant so much to me as a mother. Seeing my child comfortable and cared for while I received support was incredibly reassuring. Because of Lynda, I look back on my experience with gratitude rather than overwhelm. I feel stronger, more confident, and deeply thankful that she was part of our journey. I wholeheartedly recommend her to any mother seeking not just a doula, but a steady and compassionate presence during such an important time.
