Hi, my name is Raika, and I am a compassionate and experienced Postpartum Doula and Newborn Care Specialist with over five years of experience supporting families during the beautiful and sometimes challenging transition into life with a newborn. I specialize in overnight postpartum and newborn care, providing calm, attentive, and personalized support so parents can rest and feel confident while their baby is in caring hands. My experience includes newborn feeding and burping, diapering, soothing techniques, bottle preparation and sanitizing, newborn sleep support, gentle sleep shaping, and support for babies experiencing gas, colic, or reflux. I am currently studying Early Childhood Development to continue expanding my knowledge of infant and child development. I am also CPR certified, HIPAA trained, TrustLine registered, and trained in postpartum doula care. I am up to date with Tdap, MMR, TB testing, and flu vaccination. As a mother myself, I understand how important it is for families to feel supported, respected, and cared for during the postpartum period. My approach is calm, nurturing, organized, and nonjudgmental. I believe every family and every baby is unique, so I adapt my care to each family’s individual needs, routines, values, and parenting preferences. My goal is not only to care for your newborn, but also to bring reassurance, rest, and peace of mind to your entire family. It is truly a privilege to support parents during such a special chapter of their lives.

Raika was also incredibly dependable and proactive. She would come in, take over the baby’s nighttime routine, keep everything organized, and allow us to actually rest without worrying. We especially appreciated waking up to her detailed updates about feedings, sleep, and diaper changes. Beyond her experience with newborns, Raika has a very caring personality. She listened to our preferences, respected the way we wanted to care for our baby, and never made us feel judged or overwhelmed. She gave us reassurance when we needed it most. If you are looking for someone who will care for your newborn with patience, kindness, and genuine attention, we highly recommend Raika. We are so thankful she was part of our postpartum experience and would hire her again without hesitation.

Hiring an overnight doula from Peaceful Passages was one of the best decisions I made for my postpartum recovery. Not only did my doula lovingly care for me and my newborn, she went above and beyond—prepping nourishing meals, providing breastfeeding support, organizing the baby’s nursery, and even helping with my twin toddlers so I could rest. Her calm, professional presence made my healing after a c-section so much easier. I was especially impressed by how seamless everything was—she was professionally dressed, compassionate, and incredibly knowledgeable. On top of that, Peaceful Passages accepted my Carrot insurance and handled all the billing with ease, which lifted such a burden off my shoulders. This service was truly a lifesaver for me and my family. I felt cared for, supported, and able to focus on bonding with my baby. I can’t recommend their overnight doula services enough!

Shakila is the best there is. We did not have a night doula for our first child. For our second, we needed one because I had to go back to work right away. I was very nervous about leaving my baby with someone else during the night hours, particularly at just two weeks. Shakila let me control as much of the process as I wanted to so I always felt like she was doing what I wanted. She has a magical touch with babies and had our daughter sleeping through the night by two months old. She would not even leave in the morning until the baby was back to sleep, which allowed us an extra hour of sleep on top of the time she was with us. She was worth every penny and then some. THANK YOU SHAKILA! We miss you.

It was a delight to work with Ghislaine as our Newborn Care Specialist. Ghislaine is extremely knowledgeable with lots of experience working with newborn babies and guiding us as we were navigating parenthood. She is very compassionate, non-judgmental and meets you where you are as she guides you. And most importantly, our baby was sleeping through the night by the time he turned 3 months old. Finding Ginger less than a month before my due date felt like pure fate—she literally approached us as we were walking out the door at a Meet the Doulas event, and we felt instantly warm, comfortable, and at ease with her. My labor didn't exactly go on schedule (he arrived almost two weeks late and required an induction!), but Ginger was our absolute anchor through every single moment of it. She is such a nurturing, loving, and caring maternal soul—so much so that we affectionately call her "Aunt Ginger." Leading up to and during the induction, she gave us incredible guidance, helping us try to get things moving naturally with advice on pressure points and keeping us grounded. Throughout the hospital stay, whenever the medical staff left the room, Ginger would quietly review everything with us, help us process what the doctors had said, and make sure we remembered the questions we wanted to ask. When the medical team brought up using a vacuum during delivery, Ginger gently encouraged us to pause, push back, and ask for time to discuss our options. Having her there to prep, advocate, and vouch for us meant everything—we ended up having a completely intervention-free birth and welcomed a perfectly healthy, beautiful 10-pound baby. Ginger was truly an angel during one of the most intense experiences of my life, and she is someone we will remember and cherish forever. If you are looking for a doula who will treat you like family, protect your birth experience, and pour her whole heart into supporting you, hire Ginger immediately!

If you’re looking for support, please feel free to reach out. I’m happy to learn more about what your family is looking for and help connect you with the doula or support option within our team that may be a good fit.

We had such a wonderful experience with the Stork & Sprout North Bay team. From the beginning, Brittany made us feel supported and helped us understand how the team approach worked and what to expect. We also had the opportunity to connect with Juliana, Samantha, and Yohki, and each of them brought something different while still making the care feel consistent and personal. What we appreciated most was knowing we had a whole team behind us rather than feeling like everything depended on one person being available. Everyone was warm, knowledgeable, responsive, and genuinely respectful of the kind of birth and postpartum experience we wanted. We never felt pressured or judged, and our questions were always taken seriously. Having local doula support here in the North Bay made such a difference for our family. We would absolutely recommend the Stork & Sprout North Bay team to anyone looking for thoughtful, dependable, and compassionate support during pregnancy, birth, or postpartum.
