As a dedicated newborn care specialist/night nurse/birth doula, pediatric nurse, and early childhood development specialist with over two decades of experience, my passion lies in nurturing the growth and development of young minds. My journey in childcare began with pediatric care, where I discovered my knack for caring for children and helping them thrive. My formal education includes a graduate degree, and I've complemented my knowledge with coursework in early child development. I take great pride in fostering a safe and nurturing environment for children. My calm and patient demeanor, coupled with my approachable nature, allows me to connect easily with children and families build trusting relationships. My goal Is to comfort you in this time of need, your shoulder to cry on, your hand to hold, your ears to hear and maybe once in awhile crack a few jokes or two, child birth doesn’t have to be stressful, let’s work this out together.

Peaches was an amazing night nurse! She cared so well for our sweet girl while we could get some sleep. As first time parents, we had so many questions and she was always available whether at our home or cell between nights to answer them and keep our mind at ease. She made us feel comfortable to ask anything and we learned a lot from her. The first few weeks with a newborn are tough and we are so grateful to Peaches for helping us. She is very educated and genuinely passionate about her job, she even had our baby sleeping through the night at 3 months. You would be very lucky to have Peaches caring for your baby!

I have always been passionate about helping those expecting and their loved ones learn how to advocate for their needs. I am currently in my Doula Certification program, but have helped families for many years. Through my travels and lived experiences in and out of the U.S, I bring knowledge and wisdom from many cultures, including my own Caribbean heritage. My goal is to teach those who are expecting how to listen to their bodies, take care of their needs inside and out, and have the type of birth that they have always imagined. I also support families through changes that may occur during labor and delivery by assisting in creating flexible birth plans. In case of postpartum and bereavement, I provide care, sensitivity, and tools focused on grieving. I am here to support you and cheer you on as an advocate and loving birth assistant.

We are beyond grateful for the support and care we received from Mrs. Shanicqua. Throughout our pregnancy and postpartum journey. From the very beginning, she provided incredible insight on nutrition, breastfeeding, and what to realistically expect during both pregnancy and postpartum. Her knowledge gave us confidence, but more importantly, her presence gave us peace. She has a true gift for supporting families — not just with information, but with compassion. During postpartum, when emotions can feel overwhelming, she was a steady voice of reassurance and encouragement. She helped us navigate those feelings in a healthy way and has always made herself available when we needed guidance. Beyond being an amazing doula, she has also been such a supportive and genuine friend to us in this process. Her care never felt transactional — it felt personal, intentional, and deeply invested in our well-being as a growing family. We truly couldn’t imagine this journey without her and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for knowledgeable, compassionate, and heartfelt doula support.

I have worked with Aerkya since 2019 for 4 pregnancies and it wasn't until this last one that I realized that the reason we came to blows was totally my fault. There was no physical altercation and I can't even say that there was a heated verbal exchange because I did all of the verbal attacking and used all the inflammatory language. For my first pregnancy she was beyond helpful to my family. She was more than a doula and something like a therapist. She showed up for me not just physically but emotionally and I know I got on her nerves with as much as I called and texted her. She has NEVER said this but I'm sure I was a nag. My second delivery in 2021 was much of the same but I'd lost my dad at the end of my pregnancy. I went into labor the day after his funeral and she literally held me while I dealt with every emotion known to man. My third delivery in 2023 was my easiest pregnancy and delivery and she was there every step of the way. My most recent delivery this year 2026 was rough. The pregnancy and the delivery were hard on me physically and emotionally and while Aerkya did her best to keep me focused on the main goal, I was not a walk in the park to deal with. I have moved about 50 minutes away from where I lived with the first three deliveries and because I have had home deliveries I always wanted to make sure my birth team could get to me easily. I went into labor around 5 am in the morning but I didn't call her until maybe 8:30. Knowing with morning traffic it would be at least a hour almost 2 to reach me. I called her several times to see where she was knowing she was in traffic and hearing her driving and horns honking in the background. She stayed calm even though I was a real you know what. I cursed at her, I yelled at her, I told her that she should've just known that I was in labor. And if you get to know her, you know she can match your fire but she didn't. She remained calm and gentle with me and to this day I don't know why she didn't go off on me. I didn't even call my midwife I just called Aerkya. I found out later that she called my midwife on her way to my house because she lives even farther away and it would be an even longer drive for her. I ended up delivering my baby that 2:27 that afternoon and I was happy but still dealing with other personal stuff so I was mean even after having a healthy baby with no complications. I yelled because Aerkya and the midwife were there. They did nothing wrong to me or my children. Aerkya called and texted me, my husband, my mom, my sister and my best friend DAILY to check on me and the baby. They would tell me to reach out to her to just let her know we were ok but instead I called her, cursed and yelled at her and told her not to contact me or my family again. All she said was okay and if you experience her "okay", you'll learn that she basically told me she was done with me. I found out later on that she kept reaching out to my husband, sister and best friend to help them help me. It took me about a month to feel something like myself again and I realized that I was mean to my entire family. I reached out to my midwife and Aerkya to apologize and make things right. I went back through texts and realized just how horrible I was to her. She still tried to be there for me. I have reached out countless times in the past month and haven't gotten a response and I deserve that. I wouldn't respond to me either. Aerkya went above and beyond for me each pregnancy but I had unrealistic expectations of her this time around. Aerkya has a calm presence that you wouldn't even realize you need until it's there. She listens attentively and I never felt rushed with her. Even if she had decided not to show up for my delivery because I was nasty to her I could never replace or ignore how she showed up for me through other pregnancies and deliveries and through this one. I hope she will have me for any further pregnancies because I'm not working with anyone else but her.

oula work has always felt familiar to me—like something I was born to do. Even as a little girl, I felt deeply connected to the experience of birth and the sacred role of nurturing women through it. This work is more than a job—it’s my passion, my calling, and where my deepest love resides. At SoulexTheDoula, I am committed to serving all birthing people. I hold space for incarcerated mothers, trans dads with reproductive systems, and anyone bringing life into the world. Soulex the Doula has been incredible in mine and my child’s life. I wanted to leave a shining review but struggled even capturing the positive impact of my time with Soulex the Doula, in words. I really hope I do justice to what this time meant to me. Alexus post-partum doula support was life altering in the most vulnerable time I’ve ever experienced. I’ve had 2 children and only worked with Lex with my first born. Let me just say, her energy was deeply missed the second time around. I live in a different state now but at the time, Lex did SO MUCH. She helped with nursing, even in the middle of the night for my exclusively breast fed baby, she would stay over to make sure I had the most restful night I could. The baby would wake, and Lex would wake pick her up and latch her to my nipple while I rest, leaving me virtually undisturbed. Lex changed night diapers, and would rock my daughter back to sleep while I slept. During the day visits, Lex would take care of baby while I got time for ME. I could shower, get ready, and feel beautiful in such a strange time. Lex gave me support with getting back in connection with my body through movement with dance and stretching practices. I would have NEVER known this was meaningful work, otherwise. Lex also gave a lot of spiritual guidance and support as a medium while I was personally going through the shifts from new motherhood. She would clean my home, help me organize, or rearrange on a whim. It was nothing short of magical, and genuinely felt like I had a little fairy god mother around the house doing things without me even having to think about it - let alone lift a finger. The bond I watched her grow with my daughter at 4 months old was incredibly special. And now, as a 7 year old, they still stay in touch. We love you, Lex and you really feel like a part of the family for life. Thank you for you’re love, your care, your intention, your intuition, and your raw passion for what you do. From the bottom of my heart, Qui.

In my opinion you can’t choose anyone better Anne! Her introduction statement isn’t just something she wrote she truly practices what she preaches! After having both my girls she constantly checked in on us and not just the babies but checking on my needs as well! Things that I’ve never felt or experienced before or may have been to scared to say out loud she brought ease to me over them! First time mom or not I truly don’t think there’s anyone better to support you or your baby! My girls absolutely adore Anne! Thank you for the love and advice<3

DeVonne Mitchell

I have over 20 years of public health experience working at the private, state and federal level. The importance of public health and living a healthy lifestyle has been my life since I was a young girl! My mother set the stage early in life by encouraging an overall holistic approach. I witnessed my first birth at the age of nine and that exposure opened a world of possibilities. I have always had an interest in maternal and child health and a passion to support women during one of the most important seasons of life, the sacred transition into motherhood. After having children of my own, I answered the call to follow my dream and become a doula. My goal is to educate and provide resources for healthy food and lifestyle choices that can lead to a better quality of life for those in the family and future years. I received a B.S. degree in health promotion and disease prevention from the University of Southern California, and a M.P.H. in health policy and management from Emory University. Divine Rhythm Doula + Wellness Services was created to offer birth and postpartum support to expectant families. We provide educational resources and emotional support throughout the birth continuum (pregnancy, new parenthood and beyond). Our services are tailored to each individual’s birthing needs. Our mission is to ensure that our clients have the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual support they need to have a safe, enjoyable birth experience free from anxiety or fear.

During the delivery she was heaven sent! I couldn’t have done it without her! If you’re looking for a doula, you’ve come to the right place! Her advice was right on time! She was always there for me when I needed her! I will forever be thankful that she was a part of my delivery process!!
