Hello, my name is Tanya. I grew up on the beautiful Caribbean Island of Antigua and migrated to the US over a decade ago to pursue my college education. I’m a Graduate of Georgia State University where I obtained her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Public Health. I am passionate about women, maternal and child health. I am a Birth and Postpartum Doula and Placenta Encapsulation Specialist. It is my goal to create a positive experience for families by providing emotional support to clients, to educate and empower you and to ensure the most sacred time in your life is a beautiful experience.

My knowledge and expertise stem from many years of hands-on experience with hundreds of babies. My career working with children and families began in 1995 with an in-home daycare and assisting in births. I have been a Certified Postpartum Doula since 2004 and have worked as a Sleep Consultant since 2007. I am also a Certified Lactation Counselor. I first established Babies and Beyond in 2010, after spending seven years as a postpartum doula. My expertise in postpartum care allows me to provide support and guidance to new mothers and families as they navigate the joys and challenges of parenthood. With a deep understanding of what new parents face, and a passion for empowering them, I bring a wealth of knowledge and compassion to every client I serve. Me and my teams main focus is providing in-home nurturing care to mother and baby at night, usually 10pm-6am. Day shifts are available as well. Kyliah is a trained Doula and Social Worker in the Twin Cities. She is currently an Elementary School Social Worker in North St. Paul. Although originally from the Chicagoland area, Kyliah has lived in different parts of the Midwest including St. Louis, MO and Duluth, MN. She is trained clinically as a Social Worker and brings all of her skills of advocacy, empathy, relationship-building, client focused care, and empowerment to her role as a Doula. Having worked in so many communities here in the Twin Cities and with survivors of violence while in St. Louis, Kyliah recognizes the importance of upholding one’s individual story and experience no matter where their journey has taken them. She came to birthwork recognizing the significant disparities in care for Black and Brown birthing families and wanting to provide care that is accessible and acknowledges history and culture. As a Doula, Kyliah is trained in Perinatal Mental Health, Hypnobirthing, Grief and Reproductive Loss, and currently finishing a training on supporting body mechanics in pregnancy, birth, and beyond. Kyliah prioritizes ensuring that the families she supports feel safe not only physically, but emotionally as well as during their birthing times and beyond. Ebonie is originally from the Charleston, SC area. She graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Psychology Degree in 2015 and has lived in Columbia, SC since. She is married to her husband of 7 years, Jamal Garnett. She mentors, serves her community and is involved at her local church, Midtown Two Notch. In her free time she loves to laugh, play games, and go on walks. Ebonie has always been passionate about supporting families and social justice. She is fortunate and grateful to have found a career that she gets to do both. She is currently serving on the South Carolina Doulas Steering Committee, founded in efforts to create legislation for Medicaid reimbursement to community based doulas. She has received training and certificates in childbirth education, breastfeeding basics, community doula, community health worker, birthing pool managing, postpartum doula and newborn care.
