The cost of a night nanny in Tottenham, ON can be influenced by several factors:

  • Experience and Qualifications

Nannies with extensive experience, certifications (e.g., newborn care specialist), or specific training often charge higher rates.

  • Number of Babies

Caring for twins or multiples typically costs more than caring for a single baby due to the increased workload.

  • Hours and Duration

Rates may vary depending on the number of hours per night, the total number of nights required, and whether the arrangement is short-term or long-term.

  • Duties and Responsibilities

Additional responsibilities, such as bottle preparation, light housekeeping, or sleep training, can increase the cost.

  • Time of Year

Demand during peak times, like the holiday season, may drive prices higher.

  • Agency Fees

Hiring through an agency often includes placement fees or additional charges for their services, adding to the overall cost.

  • Overnight Rates vs. Hourly Rates

Some nannies charge a flat overnight rate, while others charge hourly, which can influence costs depending on the length of the shift.

When considering hiring a night nanny in Tottenham, ON, it's advisable to research and interview several night nannies to find one who aligns with your preferences, needs, and budget. During consultations, you can discuss their specific services and pricing structure to ensure you have a clear understanding of what is included and the associated costs. This process will help you find a night nanny who meets your needs and fits within your budget.

Shannon Nickerson

Packages from $1,950

Christian doula serving mothers in the GTA & beyond, throughout pregnancy, birth, & postpartum. Personalized birth support rooted in physiology, faith, & hope. As one of nine children, my love for children, pregnancy, and birth began early, inspired by my mother’s own birth stories. This passion led me to become a certified doula through GoMidwife and Intentional Birth, along with additional midwifery education and a year-long apprenticeship under a midwife in the US. Having supported over 70 women through pregnancy and birth, I am passionate about helping mothers understand physiologic birth, navigate their options, communicate confidently with their care providers, and make informed decisions. I believe God has intricately designed women’s bodies to birth and nurture their babies, while also recognizing that medical intervention is sometimes necessary. My goal is to equip and encourage women to approach birth with confidence, trust, and hope—and to feel empowered as they welcome their babies and enter motherhood.

We are so grateful for the support and care Shannon gave us throughout the journey of welcoming our first baby. She shared so much knowledge and went above and beyond in sharing resources and answering our questions. She helped us feel informed, prepared, and confident every step of the way. When the birth didn’t go according to plan, she was there to support us during a very emotional time. Her kindness and presence made such a difference in our experience. She truly went above and beyond in her care for our family, during pregnancy and postpartum. We couldn’t have asked for a better person to guide us through this journey! Shannon is truly wonderful!!

As a mother of three, I understand firsthand the beauty and challenges that come with the postpartum journey. My work as a postpartum and birth doula is rooted in deep empathy and genuine care, qualities that have only been strengthened through my experience raising a special needs child. I bring calm, nonjudgmental support to families as they adjust to life with a newborn, offering both practical help and emotional reassurance. Over the past several years, I have supported families through both hospital and home births, navigating many different birth experiences and outcomes. I remain a steady advocate throughout, ensuring that families feel heard, respected, and empowered in every decision. My experience also includes childbirth education, lactation education, and newborn sleep support, helping parents feel prepared, confident, and informed from pregnancy through postpartum. My goal is always to nurture both baby and parents, creating a peaceful, supported environment where healing and bonding can truly thrive.

Victoria was my Doula for both my first and second babies, and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She not only provided real, evidence-based birth education, but she also made me feel completely comfortable and confident throughout my pregnancy and labour. Victoria was by my side every step of the way, offering calm reassurance, kindness, and incredible knowledge. Her support made such a difference, and her service was worth every penny. I’m so grateful for her care and highly recommend her to any expecting parent!

I specialize in lactation and breastfeeding support, offering compassionate, evidence-based care to help families feel confident and supported throughout their journey into parenthood. My approach is rooted in the belief that there is no “one-size-fits-all” when it comes to birth, feeding, or postpartum care. Whether you’re preparing for birth, navigating early feeding, or adjusting to life with a newborn, I’m here to walk alongside you with patience, warmth, and encouragement. Beyond my work as a doula, I’m a proud mother to my 8-year-old daughter, who continues to inspire my passion for supporting other families. Ciera supported our family with postpartum doula services 5 days a week for just over 4 months following the birth of our daughter, and what a difference she made. She is professional, dependable and quickly became well integrated within the household (our older children were always excited to see her!). She has such a way with babies, our daughter very quickly developed into a sound overnight sleeper. We were also grateful that she worked with us to ensure we could be reimbursed through Carrot insurance. I would recommend Ciera to any expecting parent who is looking for calm guidance, professional support and loving care for their newborns.

Nijah Smith

$32/hr

Nijah is an artist and postpartum doula that was drawn to the world of birthwork due to her natural ability to nurture and connect with young children and their caregivers. Nijah began formally working with families as a STEAM educator for kids 10 years and under, and is a skilled teacher and tutor whose educational and lived experiences cultivated a compassionate and pragmatic approach to supporting families. She has a deep, personal understanding of the challenges that come with raising a child in challenging environments and an expansive background working with people from diverse cultural and social backgrounds, allowing her to be mindful of a client’s cultural or social values and potential barriers in accessing care. With this, her hands-on, intuitive approach to her work can fill the gaps to create a holistic care plan that is all-encompassing but flexible to accommodate a family’s changing needs.

Recent review

Nijah Smith was a great doula during my postpartum experience. What stood out the most was how naturally connected she was with my baby girl. She instantly analyzed what she needed, and responded with such calm confidence. Nijah assisted greatly with household tasks, helping me latch, and helping her settle. Because she was so attentive, observant, and proactive with the baby, I actually got to rest—and real rest. I felt safe enough to sleep because I knew my daughter was in good hands. I’m deeply grateful for her, and I would recommend her to any parent who wants someone alert ,gentle, and proactive to support their family.

I don’t even know where to begin in describing how grateful I am for Petra and the incredible support she gave me, my husband, and our son born in April 2024. She was, in every sense of the word, the doula of our dreams. We call her our 'fairy godmother.' We were first-time parents who truly didn’t know what we were doing. Petra walked into our home with a calm, reassuring presence that immediately made us feel safe and supported. Petra never made us feel judged or inadequate — instead, she showed us step by step how to care for our newborn, starting with the first step into our house from the hospital, and my question of, "umm, so where do I put him?". From there, she patiently taught us all the practical skills (feeding, burping, bathing, diapering, soothing, etc.), as we had no idea what we were doing. All the books I read while pregnant did not prepare me for the real thing. Petra prepared us for the real thing. More than the “how-to,” Petra gave us peace of mind. She answered every question with kindness and expertise. She normalized our fears, reassured us when we second-guessed ourselves, and reminded us that we were doing a good job. She also cared for us as parents. She encouraged us to rest, to eat, and to breathe. Her presence lifted so much of the anxiety from those early days and gave us space to bond with our baby rather than drown in uncertainty. Petra was everything we hoped for in a doula: knowledgeable, nurturing, reliable, compassionate, and endlessly patient. She went above and beyond. I can say without exaggeration that she helped us survive and truly enjoy those first weeks as a new family. Suyin also contributed to the post-partum support of our family as my lactation consultant. You really just don't know how difficult breast feeding is until you try it! Suyin helped me with latch, positioning, and confidence. Her visits at our home were comfortable and stress-free, and she helped turned breast-feeding into something I could actually enjoy. I can’t recommend her enough!

Hello! Thank you for being here! My name is Kristin, I’ve been on a mission to encourage women to take back birth and own their unique stories through yoga, breath, reiki, Ayurveda healing and traditional remedies. *Please note I only companion women in births at home outside the system*

Dearest Kristin, I am writing you to thank you for the gift you have given my family, myself specifically. It was a no brainer investing in a doula for this second pregnancy, and everyone was right - we had no regrets picking you! A clear comfortable contract didn’t prepare me for the support you provided. Though we hired you for post-partum care, you were a support during my very hard pregnancy. You provided me validation, connection, spiritual healing, not to mention the massages my body so desperately needed! Deciding whether to be induced was a huge mountain for us. I was high risk and my body had enough. You helped me understand my decision with love and compassion. You were so flexible with scheduling to respond to my extended hospital stay. You supported me through the phone and I felt safe leaving the hospital to come home to your care. A day with you nourished our family physically and spiritually. We were so shattered from the trauma of the birth and extended stay in the hospital. You supported our sleep, eating, and encouraged ways for us to connect while we were transitioning to a bigger family. Cooking for us, cleaning for us, yoga with my toddler while my husband and I could regroup. Having you for a few overnights helped so much with my healing and recovery. I am so grateful for investing in my recovery and choosing you. Anna
