We can't thank Gabrielle and Dale enough for the care we received during one of the most important moments of our lives. From the very first call, Gabrielle went above and beyond, she reached out to us personally and, even on short notice, made sure we were matched with a doula in time for our son's birth. That kind of responsiveness and care told us right away we were in good hands. We were paired with Dale, and we truly don't know what we would have done without her. Dale brings decades of experience, and it shows in every piece of advice she gives practical, brutally honest, and exactly what two nervous first-time parents needed to hear. She stayed with my wife through long overnight hours of labor, and when things shifted to a C-section, she was right there with us in the room, just as we'd hoped and planned. Having her steady presence in that moment meant more to us than words can capture. What really set Dale apart, though, was how she showed up for us even after our son was born. In the days that followed, she kept checking in on us and sending along newborn care videos from trusted specialists, little things that made a huge difference as we found our footing as new parents. She also took the time to capture photos of us during the whole process and those very first moments with our son, gifts we'll treasure forever. We will never forget the time we spent with Dale, and we're endlessly grateful to Gabrielle for connecting us with her. If you're looking for a doula practice that truly cares about your family, look no further.

I am an experienced doula and childbirth educator with over 30 years of experience in healthcare as a massage therapist and yoga teacher and Spinning Babies trained. I teach childbirth education using the Calm Birth method and can also help with breech presenting pregnancies. I work with all families and support the lbgqt community. Let me help you to have a calm birth experience.

Working with Adrienne was a really great experience for me during my pregnancy and birth of my first child. She provided support throughout the pregnancy with frequent checkins and meetings. I feel her approach to calm birth attributed to my birth experience and my son’s joyful demeanor now. He is a very calm baby and when we feel overwhelmed we remember our practice to breathe life and calm into our bodies. During the birth Adrienne helped me get comfortable in the hospital by creating a safe space with calming music and dimmed lights. She also helped advocate for me to switch positions so that I could avoid a c-section. Once I changed positions the baby was ready to come out naturally. She also provided cool towels on my head and neck support which made a lot of difference when it feels like you’re heating up everywhere from pushing. I especially appreciated her massage therapist expertise before and after the baby. I think the massage after the baby was more invigorating and life giving for my recovery than anything else I did postpartum. We are so thankful that we met Adrienne and that she supported us during this beautiful experience!

I’m a birth and postpartum doula serving families throughout the Baltimore, DC, Southern Pennsylvania, and Southern Maryland areas. My work is rooted in one core belief: when a mother is deeply supported, nurtured, and cared for, she is better able to care for her baby and step into motherhood with confidence and grace. I specialize in supporting mothers through some of the most vulnerable and transformative seasons of life — including high-risk pregnancies, birth trauma, postpartum mood disorders, hyperemesis gravidarum (HG), chronic illness, pregnancy after loss, and complex postpartum recovery. My background in psychiatric rehabilitation counseling allows me to bring a unique understanding of emotional health, nervous system support, and compassionate care into the birth world. My approach is deeply intuitive, trauma-informed, and mother-centered. I believe birth is not just a medical event — it is a life-changing human experience that deserves respect, advocacy, emotional safety, and individualized support. Whether I’m supporting a laboring mother through transition, helping a postpartum mother heal after a cesarean, assisting with feeding challenges, or simply making sure a family feels seen and cared for, my goal is always the same: to “mother the mother.” I offer both birth and postpartum doula services, including overnight and daytime support, prenatal education, emotional support, recovery guidance, feeding support, and practical care for growing families. I am especially passionate about helping women trust themselves again after difficult experiences and creating spaces where mothers feel safe, empowered, and genuinely held. Beyond my work with clients, I’m passionate about maternal mental health advocacy, improving the birth experience for women, and creating honest conversations around motherhood, healing, and the realities of postpartum life. My work combines evidence-based education with warmth, intuition, humor, and deep compassion. At the heart of everything I do is the belief that mothers deserve quality care. As a Trauma-Informed and Trauma-Responsive Doula and Childbirth Educator, I provide compassionate, whole-person support to individuals and families throughout pregnancy, birth and postpartum. I recognize that personal history and previous healthcare experiences can influence how someone feels about pregnancy, birth or receiving care. With that understanding, I offer education, steady presence, practical guidance and encouragement of informed self-advocacy while respecting each client’s dignity and honoring their individual needs and values. I approach each relationship with respect for the client’s lived experience and autonomy. My care is guided by trust, collaboration, cultural humility and an understanding of how trauma can affect the body and mind. From the first prenatal visit through postpartum recovery, I help clients recognize situations that may cause distress, notice their body’s responses, prepare questions and communicate their preferences. Together, we develop personalized doula support plans for pregnancy, birth and postpartum that emphasize consent and comfort while reflecting the client’s informed decisions. My professional practice is grounded in ongoing learning and thoughtful reflection. I pursue advanced training in maternal care, trauma-responsive support, reproductive justice and perinatal mental health so my work remains informed by current evidence and ethical practice. Through this work, I aim to break cycles of intergenerational trauma and promote emotional resilience for every family I serve.

I'm still on cloud nine and appreciating all that Ms. Kristan has done for my wife and I. Never would I have imagined that we would find what she offers in value and service to support us in our Christian faith. She has changed our lives as new parents and how I see myself supporting my wife and newborn son. She was so gentle and comforting with my wife. She is the most patient woman I have ever met besides my wife and my wife is very patient. Everything we spoke of to advocate for, she gently reminded me of when we were preparing to give birth. I was able to help my wife in ways that I wished I could. My wife had the birth that she wanted and I believe that if we didn't have Ms. Kristan's support and wisdom we may not have been blessed to experience that. New dads need understanding and to learn how to support mom and she provided us with plenty of it.

“In birth, we find the courage we never knew we had and the strength that was there all along.” – Marcie Macari Hi, my name is Bria Comer. I am a birth doula, as well as a dance teacher, licensed physical therapist assistant, and a mama to my son, daughter, and dog! I am so excited that you are considering the idea of a doula. I believe that everyone deserves the support and knowledge of a birth doula to help make childbirth the beautiful journey it should be. My background in dance and physical therapy, in combination with my doula training, gives me valuable insight into the physiology of the perinatal time frame to help you embrace the power within your body. I have seen firsthand how positioning, massage techniques, intentional movement, and breath work help birthing individuals. My goal as your doula is first and foremost to support you with your needs and desires, whatever decisions you make. I am also interested in helping you learn about normal physiology and movement practices during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum to help empower and educate you. This will help you be in tune with your body and its needs as well, so you can continue to find strength and balance beyond our time together! I also use my knowledge and experience from over 6 years of working in pediatric physical therapy to help educate and guide you on normal infant development, if you are interested. LGBT+ friendly 💜

Bria was an absolute delight to work with through pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum. She is extremely knowledgeable about the body and how to maximize comfort during pregnancy and prepare for a smooth delivery. She was a calming presence during my home birth, even as things moved quickly before my midwife had even arrived. She was about 3 minutes away from having to deliver my baby herself and there was never a moment of panic or stress on her end. She also supported us for six weeks postpartum, coming to the house weekly to help with any and everything we needed, including preparing meals and snacks, helping us with body work and movement, taking some house work off my plate, and even walking our dog who now loves her as much as we do! I would absolutely hire Bria again in a heartbeat <3

Hi, I’m Gabrielle Taylor. I’ve been supporting mothers and newborns since February 2022, but my passion for women’s health began in my teenage years. I’m a proud mother of two—my children were born in 2017 and 2021. **I have teamed up with Danica Day to bring quality care and support to Frederick and the surrounding areas. You can read more about Danica here: https://www.dawnandduskdoulaco.com/** My first birth, a cesarean, was emotionally traumatic and left me feeling unsupported and unheard. In contrast, the birth of my second child was an empowering VBAC, made possible by the compassionate presence of an incredible doula. That experience was truly life-changing—it showed me the profound difference that informed, empathetic support can make. Now, my mission is to offer that same kind of transformative support to other families. Whether you're navigating your first birth or welcoming another child into your home, I’m here to help you feel confident, cared for, and connected. In today’s fast-paced world, motherhood can feel isolating—but I'm here to bridge that gap so you feel supported. I’m also currently pursuing my nursing degree to deepen my knowledge and enhance the care I provide as a doula. I’m honored to walk alongside you during this pivotal journey.

Gabby is amazing! Truly, she answered every question I had, supported our postpartum journey, explained everything throughly, had brilliant insight, talked through everything with me, and helped my little guy sleep in 4+ hour stretches every time! She is the baby sleep whisperer! Could not say nicer things about Gabby and her gentle care of not only my little guy, but my family as a whole. She truly made my whole postpartum journey so much easier!!

I am a Full Spectrum Doula, wellness educator, and mother of four, devoted to supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and the early postpartum season with knowledge, compassion, and faith-centered encouragement. Through my work with Grand Guardian Birth and Family Care, I approach birth as a sacred and transformative experience—one that has the power to strengthen not only a mother, but the entire family. I believe mothers deserve to feel informed, respected, and deeply supported as they bring new life into the world. I am equally passionate about nurturing the intimate connection between parents, recognizing that a strong, unified partnership creates a foundation of peace, security, and love for both mother and baby. My philosophy blends evidence-based birth education with a holistic, faith-rooted perspective that honors the body’s design, emotional wellbeing, and the vital role of family support. I strive to walk alongside families in a way that cultivates confidence, connection, and a deep sense of purpose during this sacred season.

I have to brag on how wonderful Gabrielle Wachter is as a very supportive hands on doula. My husband and I were approaching the birth of our firstborn son, and our original birth plan was not going as planned, and she stepped in and helped out more than words can say. It was also very reassuring to know that she believed the same beliefs that we do. And having such a Powerful believing woman is so helpful when unforeseen circumstances happen during labor. My husband and I are forever grateful she was right there with us. Leading up to the birth, during labor and even some postpartum visits. I’m excited to see she is pursuing midwifery care, I know she will do very well! I will recommend her to anyone who is in search of a doula.

My philosophy as a doula is that everyone deserves to live out their best intentions. I provide personalized services for those seeking inclusive and comprehensive pregnancy, labor, delivery and postpartum support. I wish to give you an uplifting experience, free from discrimination and mental health stigma. I strive to create a space that will help you feel actively listened to and emotionally supported.

Recent review

If you're in need of a doula, I highly recommend Juliann! While she wasn't technically the doula we hired, she stepped in and stepped up for her sister in ways that no one else could. She demonstrated the perfect amount of restraint and support by being the best distraction to Kat (my partner; her sister) when desperately needed....and other times, the rock I just couldn't be....the rock only a sister can be). She knew just what she needed and when, and we intuitively worked with one another to be there for her every step of the way. Going into labor, Kat was sure she didn't want any family in the room while I always felt that as soon as things got rolling, she was going to need her sister. So without any advance notice and with a fully booked schedule and child of her own, Julie dropped everything to travel hours to the hospital (and back a few times while we rested) and be there with Kat until our little one came earth-side. As a queer couple (I'm trans and my partner is non-binary), I can say that there aren't many doula's out there that even recognize that there can be birthing persons with different genders - that include those bodies in these predomenantly/societally female spaces. With Julie, you can be sure that as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, your body, wishes, partner dynamics, pronouns etc will be honored, respected, and uplifted. During our birth, I got to witness Julie as she realized this was her calling. I was moved, touched, and so honored to be able to experience this moment of hers, and I genuinely can say there isn't anyone I'd trust more with your care. While Julie is just starting out in this field, she has a drive to excel and learn, and I'm witnessing firsthand her dedication to becoming an expert in this field.

Hi, I’m Siedah Israel, a Certified Labor Doula, Holistic Wellness Practitioner, and Certified Herbalist based in Fredericksburg in Spotsylvania County, Virginia. I’m a wife of 15 years and a homeschooling mother of five. My wellness and birth advocacy journey began with earning a certificate in Massage Therapy from Eastern Virginia Career College in 2018. I later completed my Doula Certification through Germanna Community College in 2024 and graduated with honors in Herbal Studies from the American College of Healthcare Sciences in 2025. I am currently in Phase I of the PEP process as I work toward becoming a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM). I have extensive experience supporting families through hospital births, birth center births, and home births. Personally, I have experienced three hospital births and two home births, which deeply informs the care, perspective, and support I offer to the families I serve. When I’m not supporting families, I enjoy homeschooling, spending time outdoors with my children, writing poetry, working on my werewolf novel, and handcrafting natural hair and skincare products. It is a true honor to walk alongside families with compassion, cultural awareness, and grounded support during such a sacred season of life.

Siedah was an amazing doula, and I couldn’t have asked for a better person to support me during my labor and delivery! From the very beginning, she was patient, attentive, and always made sure to ask what I needed. She took the time to bring multiple copies of my birth plan and consistently reminded me of my preferences so I could feel confident and supported throughout the entire process. What stood out to me the most was her dedication. She met me at the hospital despite it being about two hours away from her, which truly showed how committed she was to being there for me. She was extremely knowledgeable, reassuring, and supportive, and she advocated for me when I needed it most. Having someone who genuinely listened to me, respected my wishes, and helped me feel heard made such a difference in my birth experience. Siedah made my labor and delivery experience so much better, and I am incredibly grateful to have had her by my side during such an important moment in my life. I would absolutely recommend her to any expecting mother looking for a doula who is compassionate, knowledgeable, dependable, and truly dedicated to her clients. If I ever get pregnant again I’d love to have her by my side again. Thank you, Siedah, for helping make my birth experience a positive and memorable one!

Working with Amelia as our HypnoBirthing companion was truly transformative! Over the course of two months in September and October, she guided my husband and me with such kindness, humor, compassion, and grounded presence that after each in-person session, it felt as though we had known her for years. From the very beginning, Amelia created a warm, safe, and engaging space that allowed me to move from extreme fear and uncertainty about pregnancy and birth to feeling calm, confident, and genuinely excited for my birthing day. My husband looked forward to every class, as Amelia gave him tangible, meaningful ways to support me during pregnancy and to be an active, empowered partner during labor. Her teachings not only brought the two of us closer, but also helped us deepen our bond with our baby and equipped us with tools we will continue to use throughout parenthood and in many parts of our personal and professional lives. I am forever grateful to Amelia for sharing her knowledge and expertise in HypnoBirthing. She helped us prepare for the arrival of our baby boy with calm, clarity, peace, and joy and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide on this journey. I miss her dearly but will always take her spirit and teachings with me moving forward. What a gift she is to this world!
