Growing up on a recreational farm in Canada, I watched animals give birth from a young age, which gave me my first realization of how natural the birth process could be. I’m a mom of four—two daughters I had when I was young, and two sons I’ve had in my 30s with my husband, whom I married last year. My journey as a teen mom taught me resilience, the importance of support, and the power of community—lessons I carry with me every day. Family and community are central to my life: I’m connected through our church, and I spend a lot of time with my three sisters, raising our children together, exploring hikes, and finding outdoor adventures. When I gave birth to my children I was able to do 6 of them unmedicated and all were delivered vaginally with no significant damage to my lady parts.
