While I love being an Stna, State Tested Nurse Aide and Esthetician, I have always been curious about birth and the female anatomy. So, I decided to get certified. I have always had the heart for taking care of people and can't wait to care for you and your family. When I was little, my younger sister and I would pretend like I was the doctor and she was getting ready to have a baby. My sister would go to check ups and I would give her an "ultrasound" and eventually she would birth the baby, a doll put under her shirt, and she would come back with her doll for a postpartum checkup. Since I was a little girl taking care of moms and babies has been my dream. As an SBD certified Doula, I feel honored to be able to share my expertise with women and families around Columbiana, Mahoning, Stark, and Carroll County. I approach birth holistically. I’m a birth and postpartum doula who has worked with infants, young children, and their families for over 20 years. I received my birth doula training through DONA International and my postpartum training and certification through ProDoula. I also have a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Development, all clearances, and am CPR certified. My path to becoming a doula is a recent one, however I’ve always had a passion for learning about pregnancy, childbirth and newborn care. For much of my career, I have focused on being a preschool teacher in addition to providing private childcare for families in the area. I love being part of all the milestones and celebrations while also being an extra set of hands to help as needed. My goal as a doula is to create a relationship with my clients where they feel supported both physically and emotionally. My passion for birth work came from talking to friends and families about how traumatizing their births were. With my services I provide 3 prenatal visits, day of delivery and a postpartum family follow up. I give mom a nesting party to prepare for the baby. Mom receives a gift bag with my No Cramps tea to drink after birth to help with the bleeding and cramping. My calling to birth work began after the home birth of my first baby in 2021. Although it wasn’t the right season to dive in at that time, everything shifted in 2023 when the Lord led me into the field of Nursing. Halfway through school, during prayer, I was given a beautiful vision of my daughter’s birth—only this time, I was the midwife. I asked the Lord if it was finally my time, and since then He has guided my steps so clearly and purposefully. I am now training under the very Midwife who supported me during my daughter’s birth, and it has been an incredible journey of learning and growth.
