Childcare has been my career for over thirteen years. Since 2011, I have had the privilege of supporting a wide range of families, caring for children from four months to twelve years of age in both private homes and early years settings. Along the way, I have intentionally sought opportunities that have broadened my experience, from private nanny positions and family support roles to early childhood education, leadership, and operating my own licensed childcare business. My approach is centered on providing calm, consistent, and emotionally responsive care. I believe children flourish when they feel genuinely seen, safe, and respected, and I strive to create environments where they can develop confidence, independence, social skills, curiosity, and resilience. My practice is informed by attachment theory and trauma-informed principles, always recognizing that every child is unique and deserves care that reflects their individual needs, and family values. My experience includes caring for infants, toddlers, school-aged children, twins, siblings, and groups of up to twenty-four children, as well as supporting children with additional physical, developmental, emotional, and behavioural needs. I am equally comfortable managing the changing routines of a busy household as I am planning enriching activities, supporting school readiness, encouraging outdoor exploration, or providing a quiet, reassuring presence during more challenging moments. Alongside childcare, I take pride in contributing to the smooth running of a family home. I am experienced with meal preparation, wardrobe management, laundry, organization, appointment scheduling, school runs, errands, travel preparation, and maintaining tidy, welcoming spaces. I enjoy cooking nutritious meals and am confident accommodating vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free, and allergy-conscious diets. I hold an Early Childhood Education diploma and remain committed to continuing my professional development. I maintain my First Aid and CPR certification, have completed training in childcare administration, allergy awareness, and the BC Early Learning Framework, and actively seek opportunities to continue learning throughout my career. Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, swimming, reading, dancing, and arts and crafts. These are activities I enjoy sharing with children, whether that means spending time outdoors, discovering new books, or testing out new ways to be creative. Above all, I understand the importance of safety, trust, discretion, and reliability. I am a non-smoker, I am bilingual in English and Spanish, confident driving, comfortable travelling with families, experienced caring for pets, and at ease working within professionally managed households, including those with security systems and in home cameras. My goal is to become a dependable person who supports both children and the household with warmth, professionalism, and care. Professional Overview • Over 11 years of professional childcare experience • Early Childhood Education Diploma • Trauma informed, attachment focused approach • Newborn, infant, toddler, and school age experience • Experienced with twins, multiples, and children with additional support needs • Licensed childcare business owner and childcare leadership experience • Household management and family assistant support • Meal planning and cooking • Children's wardrobe organization and laundry • Calendar coordination and appointment management • Confident driver and swimmer • Comfortable travelling domestically and internationally • Bilingual in English and Spanish • Current Childcare First Aid & CPR • FoodSafe trained and allergy aware • Pet friendly • Non-smoker • Committed to discretion, professionalism, and lifelong learning.

Since I can remember, I have always found deep love and interest in the perinatal period. My first encounter with pregnancy and birth occurred when I was very young; my mum showed me the 1995 film Nine Months, directed by Chris Columbus, starring Julianne Moore and Hugh Grant, and I was hooked! Essentially, I watched any movie or TV show (that I was aware of) that featured the perinatal period. Some of the shows that I have watched countless times are One Born Every Minute (Channel 4) and Call The Midwife (BBC One). I bring the film and shows up because it is an integral part of the story that led me to become a doula; it kept the spark alive long enough for me to find a way forward into working within the birth and postpartum world. Then, when I went to Mount Royal University to get my Bachelor of Arts degree, it only felt natural to accompany it with a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies, so I see myself as a certified feminist (lol). I have always believed that people are entitled to feel empowered during their birth, and with that comes support, which is where I come in. As your doula, it is my job to support you and your birthing team throughout the duration of your birth. I will never make decisions on your behalf or try to influence your choices, but I will support you in making those decisions, and yes, that includes postpartum care. I will hold space for you and your support team, and I will do my best to help you advocate for your wishes. I understand that the perinatal period is a very vulnerable time, and I feel honoured and blessed to be able to accompany you on your journey.

Many parents find the early weeks with a newborn both beautiful and overwhelming. My goal is to provide calm, knowledgeable support so families can rest, recover, and feel confident during this important transition. Hello, my name is Sarah and I am a certifying Birth & Postpartum Doula, professional nanny and trained Newborn Care Specialist based in Lethbridge, Alberta. I provide overnight newborn & infant care along with postpartum support for families during the early weeks and months after welcoming a new baby. I bring over 20 years of professional childcare experience, including extensive work as a travel nanny supporting families in their homes around Europe & Canada. These experiences have allowed me to work closely with infants, children, and parents in many different environments, strengthening my ability to adapt to each family’s unique needs and parenting style. My background also includes experience working in healthcare environments supporting NICU and pediatric units, which has deepened my understanding of newborn development and the importance of creating a calm, reassuring environment for both baby and parents. My philosophy is that every family deserves compassionate, non-judgmental support during the transition into parenthood. I believe parents already have strong instincts, and my role is to provide reassurance, guidance, and practical support so they can feel confident caring for their baby. I am currently completing my certification as a Fertility, Birth and Postpartum Doula and look forward to expanding my support for families as my training continues. I am based in Lethbridge and am happy to travel throughout Southern Alberta.
