Hi, I'm Suzanne Nicklas! I'm a Registered Nurse, IBCLC, Doula and Health Coach based in Greenville, SC. As a nurse, my passion has been working with new parents and infants. I have worked with hundreds of families in my fifteen years as a lactation consultant and doula. I love educating families prior to the birth of their baby and particularly enjoy the postpartum period. As the mother of four, my own birth experiences led me to this work. My passion for wellness started many years ago when I took the first of many health coach trainings, the first being through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. I’ve worked in healthcare for most of my adult life and I’ve noticed that as women, especially women of color, LGBTQIA+, and those of certain social status tend to be at higher risk of adverse birth experiences. We need advocates and other women to help support our path to better care. Did you know that 1 in 4 women experience symptoms of postpartum depression?
