Robin was such a wonderful addition to our home the first few weeks after welcoming #2. She is so loving and from the moment she stepped in and held our little one, I felt at ease. She cared for the baby, made sure I was physically and emotionally well, and when morning came things were set for our day to start easier. My husband was on the fence about overnight help and as with many families, it ended up being such a good fit for us that we extended the weeks she was with us. Happy to give one on one reference information if needed!

In the depths of my own postpartum dark night and fear literally spreading through the world on a global level, Bethany was the one simple, easy choice I made with zero regrets. Hmmmm. Do I want a loving, steady, calm, peaceful human being in my home? Do I want someone who will come with a song in her heart and thoughtful activities like children’s Yoga and books about Mrs. Badger’s mountain foraging adventures? Do I want that same thoughtfulness to radiate out to me in how she cares for my home while she’s there…the sink full of dishes done, the million little baby clothes all tidily folded and put away, the real human conversations that allow me today to call Bethany- not only an integral part of my support community-but also a friend? Yes! Yes. Yes. Yes. She’s worth every penny of the investment, and, even more than that…Mama, YOU are worth every penny of the investment. I think we are all waking up to the fact that how mothers and babies are treated matters. Not just to that one family she touches…but to the world as a whole. Bethany has devoted her life to centering the care of women and babies and, if you ask me, there is truly no higher or more impactful calling. 🩷

Xiomara Gittens

Packages from $1,500

Peace and blessings! My name is Xiomara, I am a mother of a beautiful girl. I am from the very small town of Pemberton, located in Southern New Jersey. I take pride and I am inspired by my (Afro Caribbean-Latina) Panamanian roots and culture. I believe in holistic and wholistic healing and practices, and the balance between the two. I am 2x certified full spectrum doula, (through Doula Trainings International and the state of NJ via NJMIHIA), Reiki Master, and Placenta Specialist. I became a doula because of my own birthing experience, which led me to my passion for birth-work. Helping families by educating, advocating, and providing a safe space for a meaningful and purposeful birth. No birth is the same, no pregnancy is the same. However, by providing a safe space, and exceptional services, we can shift the narrative so that more families are aware of birth-workers within and outside of the healthcare system, with a focus on culturally competent care. Our mission at The Purple Purpose LLC is to inspire our clients to become the highest most confident versions of themselves, while embracing their journey, from the beginning until the end. We aim to bring forth a new way to assist families in maintaining their health and wellness, before, during, and after birth. We want to bring a deeper level of holistic and wholistic practice that will allow personal and professional growth, but most importantly, a safe, successful, and purposeful birth .

I cannot recommend Xiomara enough as a doula. From the very beginning of my pregnancy journey, she was incredibly responsive, attentive, and genuinely caring. From the moment I booked her, she consistently checked in on both me and my baby, always making sure I felt supported, informed, and prepared every step of the way. Her communication and dedication gave me such a sense of comfort and reassurance throughout my pregnancy. When it came time for labor and delivery, Xiomara was truly amazing. She stayed by my side from the very beginning all the way through the end of my delivery — over 33+ hours of labor. Through every contraction, emotional moment, and difficult decision, she remained calm, encouraging, knowledgeable, and fully present. She advocated and made sure my voice was heard, especially during moments when I was too exhausted or overwhelmed to speak for myself. Her knowledge, professionalism, and passion for what she does are unmatched. She helped me feel empowered during one of the most vulnerable experiences of my life, and I truly believe my birth experience was so much more positive because of her support. Every mother deserves someone like Xiomara in their corner. I’m beyond grateful for her care, compassion, and unwavering support throughout my birth journey. Thank you, Xiomara, for being such an important part of bringing my baby into the world. 🤍

I am honored to support families during the transformative experience of welcoming a new baby. I am dedicated to offering personalized at-home care and practical assistance during the early day, weeks, and months after childbirth. My goal is help mothers and families build a strong foundation for long-term confidence, good mental health, and secure attachments with baby. Think of me as your calm, knowledgeable guide, helping you navigate with confidence and ease.

Recent review

I have witnessed firsthand the extraordinary compassion, dedication, and warmth she brings to every aspect of her life. I wholeheartedly believe she will be exceptional in this role. Makeda’s work ethic is something I have always deeply admired. When she commits to something, she gives it her entire heart. She approaches this work not as a casual interest but as a true calling. She studies diligently and constantly seeks to deepen her understanding of maternal and newborn health. Her professionalism is evident in how seriously she takes her preparation and how she holds herself accountable to the highest standards in everything she does. One of Makeda’s greatest gifts is her ability to communicate with both warmth and clarity. She has a natural way of making people feel heard and understood. Whether she is offering guidance to a new parent, sharing information, or simply listening, she creates a space of trust and safety. I have watched her interact with expectant and new mothers, and her presence is immediately calming. She has an intuitive ability to read a room, to know when someone needs encouragement and when they simply need a steady, reassuring hand. This is a rare and invaluable quality for someone entrusted with the care of newborns and their families. At her core, Makeda is one of the most compassionate and caring people I have ever known. Originally from Trinidad, she carries with her a deep cultural appreciation for community, family, and the sacred experience of welcoming new life into the world. Her background working with children has given her a profound understanding of families' needs and the importance of nurturing support during life’s most tender moments. She has a remarkable gift for connecting with little ones, offering patience, gentleness, and a love that is felt deeply by every child she cares for. Watching her with the children in our family has only strengthened my confidence that she is meant for this work. Makeda’s passion has also inspired me to advocate. She is deeply committed to ensuring that every mother and newborn receives informed, compassionate, and empowering care. She understands the disparities in maternal and infant healthcare and is driven by a genuine desire to make a difference - one family at a time. She is the kind of person who will stand beside a family not only during those precious early days but throughout the entire journey, with grace, knowledge, and an unshakable calm. She has the heart, the mind, and the spirit to be a truly outstanding Postpartum doula and Newborn Care Specialist. Any family that has her by their side will be profoundly fortunate.

Hi, I’m Joy, a birth and postpartum doula and pediatric sleep consultant with advanced lactation training. I support families through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and beyond with a calm, practical, judgment-free approach. As a mom of four grown children and a grandmother, I bring both professional training and decades of hands-on experience with babies and families. During pregnancy and birth, I help you feel informed, prepared, and confident in your choices, while providing steady emotional and physical support throughout labor. After baby arrives, I can continue supporting you through postpartum recovery, feeding, newborn care, sleep, and adjusting to life with your new baby. My goal is simple: to help you feel supported and confident as you navigate this huge transition. When I’m not supporting families, you’ll usually find me spending time with my own family, traveling in our RV, hiking, biking, or exploring somewhere new.

After dealing with the 4-month sleep regression for over a month and a half, my husband and I decided to reach out to Joy. At the time, our son was barely sleeping overnight. He was waking every 30 minutes to an hour and refused to sleep in his crib or bassinet. After speaking with Joy, she created a detailed, personalized sleep plan specifically for our son. To our amazement, after just one night, he was sleeping through the night with only one wake up to feed. I was so nervous about sleep training because I thought it would be stressful and heartbreaking, but it was the complete opposite. The process was much easier than we expected, and the results were truly life-changing for our whole family. Joy was incredibly supportive every step of the way, always available to answer our questions and provide reassurance. I can’t recommend her highly enough. If you’re struggling with your little one’s sleep, she is absolutely worth it!

I honestly cannot say enough wonderful things about my doula, Tina Alisha. From the very beginning, she made me feel heard, supported, safe, and cared for. Her presence throughout my journey was truly a blessing, and I’m so grateful that I had her by my side. Tina went above and beyond to make sure I felt confident, informed, and prepared. She listened to my concerns without judgment, encouraged me when I needed it most, and reminded me of my strength when I needed that extra reassurance. We truly can’t say enough wonderful things about Becky. She was with our family overnight until our son was six weeks old, and was such a special part of those early weeks postpartum. Becky has such a warm, calm, and reassuring presence, and from the beginning she felt like the perfect fit for our family. She was communicative, kind, dependable, and someone we trusted completely with our newborn. Having her in our home always felt easy and natural. I was breastfeeding, and Becky helped me figure out a schedule that allowed me to get longer stretches of sleep while still keeping up with feeding and pumping. She would bag and store my milk, take care of my pump parts, and handle all of those little overnight tasks so I could get back to sleep as quickly as possible. Having that extra rest made such a difference in helping me recover and feel more like myself during those first several weeks postpartum. More than anything, Becky genuinely cared for our whole family. Our son loved her, our toddler loved her, and we always felt completely comfortable knowing our baby was in her care. She became such a seamless part of our family during a really special and vulnerable time. We were so sad when our time with her came to an end at six weeks, and we truly miss having her here every day. We feel incredibly lucky that Becky was part of our son’s first weeks and would recommend her wholeheartedly to any family looking for warm, trustworthy, and compassionate postpartum support.

My Amber, my Amber (yes !! I literally yelled her name during delivery 😂)… where do I even begin? Amber was simply AMAZINGGGG. From answering late-night messages to showing up for impromptu emergency visits, she was always present. She made me feel instantly comfortable we clicked right away because Amber is truly a whole vibe. What I loved most is how wholeheartedly involved she was. She advocated for me every step of the way and brought so much knowledge and passion into this journey. And listen… as a mom who has birthed FOUR babies, she still taught me things I never even knew. That says everything. In such a short time, Amber became family. We’re going on three months postpartum and I can still text her, vent, and just be real no judgment, just love and support. She made this experience unforgettable, and honestly, I just wish I had found her sooner. If you’re looking for a doula who will make you laugh, cry with you, turn the delivery room into a karaoke concert, hold you accountable (because she DOES NOT play 😌), while holding your hand and making you feel completely seen and validated she is the doula for you. TENS, TENS, TENS ACROSS THE BOARD 👏🏽✨
