Hi Families! My name is Karla Aguilar, and I’m a Postpartum Doula, Newborn Care Specialist, proud mom to a sweet 9 year old and 1x Gestational surrogate. My passion has always been rooted in childcare, beginning my career as an early childhood educator with a certificate in Child Development and Early Childhood Education from Cerritos College. With years of experience in daycare centers, public schools, and private homes, my heart has always been drawn to newborn and postpartum care. Becoming a young mother and navigating postpartum with limited support opened my eyes to the gap in care during this beautiful yet vulnerable stage, inspiring me to provide the support I once needed myself. In 2026, my passion for family building led me to become a gestational surrogate, giving me the incredible opportunity to experience pregnancy, labor, and postpartum recovery for a second time. Having recently gone through postpartum myself, including pumping, Labor, OBYGN appointments I bring even more firsthand knowledge, understanding, and compassion to the families I support. I truly believe it takes a village to bring little ones into this world, and I’m honored to be part of yours, providing warm, nurturing, and professional care to your family.

Working with Sharon was one of the most reassuring parts of our entire birth experience. From the very beginning, her communication style put us at ease. She paid close attention to the details of our birth plan and made sure our preferences were understood and respected throughout the process. One thing we especially appreciated was her flexibility around when to join us at the hospital. She checked in often, helped us navigate the early stages from afar, and arrived right when we entered active labor. From that moment on, her presence made a noticeable difference. She helped lower our stress, and we trusted her implicitly in how she advocated for us with the nursing staff. Her strong rapport with the team at Woodland Hills Kaiser Permanente made everything feel that much smoother. Sharon’s depth of experience came through in every interaction. She was calm when we needed calm, confident when we needed guidance, and always focused on making sure we felt supported. We’re incredibly grateful for her and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to any family looking for a doula who is both highly skilled and genuinely compassionate. 10 out of 10 would highly recommend.

I have worked closely with Asia for many years and in some very high-intensity, high-performing situations. While I may not have hired her as my doula on account of not being pregnant (because I'm a male) I can definitely recommend her on a professional level. Asia is a very positive and confident person, an intuitive listener, and a selfless caregiver. She is very knowledgeable and is able to deliver quality care and anticipate your needs. She is the type of person I refer my expecting patients to, and the right one for the job of helping you welcome your newest one into the world. I recommend Asia without any reservation or hesitation to anyone in the greater Austin area looking for a competent and confidence-instilling doula!

We truly couldn’t have asked for a better newborn care specialist than Zala! She was with us from our very first night home and quickly became an invaluable part of our postpartum experience. As first-time parents, we learned so much from her, and her knowledge, patience, and reassurance helped us feel so much more confident in caring for our daughter. She even helped get our baby sleeping through the night! Zala is incredibly caring, patient, flexible, and reliable, and we always felt completely at ease knowing our baby was in such wonderful hands. A calling that has been nurtured for 32 years. I began my career with children as a teenage babysitter. I have been fascinated by child development since I was little more than a child myself. Arriving in the USA in 1991 from Barranquilla, Colombia I was immediately employed by Universal Studios Child Care Center. This experience offered a wide range of infants to care for and deepened my desire to advance in my calling as a childcare specialist. It was in my interactions with various parents that I soon realized how what came naturally to me was frightening to some. In a very short time, parents were asking me to provide services outside of the care center. I was helping with establishing baby sleep schedules, nighttime care and creating baby routines for families. In 1998 I had met my birthing doula trainer and mentor Carmen of Gyntle Touch Birth. At Carmen’s recommendation I also became a certified massage therapist from Touch Therapy Institute. Immediately I offered my time as a birthing and prenatal doula to help low-income unwed mothers. This was my way of giving back in gratitude of my being able to pursue my life’s purpose and obtain a vast amount of experience with a diverse group of mothers. Over the last 32 years I have worked with hundreds of families, from birthing babies, preparing hospital care routines and directives, setting up nursery supplies, prenatal doula, lactation coach, night care, postpartum care, pregnancy and baby massage. Along the way I married and was blessed to deliver my own two children, with my mentor Carmen presiding as my birthing doula. A not so well-kept secret is that my husband and I are gourmet chefs, an additional service many families are excited to have made available to them. I consider myself truly blessed in that I am able to share in the most important part of a family. Incredibly, many of the children I have had a hand in raising continue to contact me throughout their life. I have had the wonderfully good fortune to attend many, confirmations, bar & bat mitzvahs, graduations from elementary, Jr. High, High School, College and recently my first Graduate school ceremony. I respect privacy and discretion, am able to travel, provide meal preparation and offer household management services.

We found Diana through Doulas of OC. She served as our birth doula as well as a postpartum night doula. During the interview, I immediately felt like she'd be a great fit for our family. As a first time mom I wanted someone with lots of experience and Diana came with so much! She came to the house for several prenatal visits to go over my birth preferences as well as provide education, and help prepare me - mentally and physically. She was so helpful in days leading up to delivery when I had questions I could text her or call her. Once my water broke she quickly came to the hospital and was with us until we were ready to go down to the Mother a baby unit. She was another set of ears and eyes during my birth that was amazing to have for me and my partner. Postpartum night visits were incredibly valuable. For helping ensure that my daughter was latching properly, to grabbing me snacks from the fridge in the middle of the night. She was amazing. And our baby now sleeps through the night which she started to do almost by 1 mo; I credit Diana for a lot of the legwork that helped our daughter gain the skills to do that. And she remains in touch which is wonderful. If we have a second baby, Diana will be on speed dial again. If you are able to use Diana you will not be disappointed.

I felt called to work with birth as a young adult, and love helping folks prepare for and navigate their birth journeys, as well as their relationship to their birth stories. My goal is to help birthing people find an empowered way through whatever comes up for them, and for them to feel supported and seen throughout the process. I worked with Stephanie prenatally, during labor/delivery, and postpartum too. She was wonderful to work with, a great listener, guided me and my husband well through what we could expect with having our first child, supported me through my various anxieties, and really showed up for us during labor. She was a vital advocate for me while I was at the hospital. She is knowledgable about Spinning Babies (and has received their training), did a visualization exercise with my husband and I in thinking about the unknowns of parenthood and embracing all that was to come, and she was ready and prepared to support us when she came to the hospital. She supported me emotionally and physically through early labor and all the various interventions that became necessary because I was not dilating and my labor was not progressing. Loved working with Stephanie and would recommend her to anyone for support during the birth or new mom phase of life.

I used Wendy's services exclusively for my postpartum recovery. To begin, I want to share that I am a very private person. This is my second child (my first is three years old), and it has always been my husband and I caring for our children. I have never hired a babysitter because I am not comfortable inviting others into my home, and I tend to be very guarded. However, caring for two children on my own made my recovery slow and difficult, so I decided to try one session with Wendy to see if this type of support would be a good fit for me. Long story short, Wendy changed my life! She fully understood and respected my need for privacy and always made sure I felt comfortable. She was consistently punctual, professional, and attentive. She took the time to understand my home, my children, and my parenting style so she could proactively support me in genuinely helpful ways without ever overstepping my comfort zone. Most importantly, she helped create the space I needed to rest, heal, and recharge. She struck the perfect balance between giving me the privacy and quiet time I needed while also checking in and offering support whenever necessary. Most importantly, both my baby and my three-year-old absolutely ADORED Wendy. She was wonderful with children and made me feel completely comfortable entrusting them to her care. In fact, after her final session, my oldest was so sad to see her go that he begged her to come back and visit him. Wendy has a heart of gold. She is incredibly knowledgeable, a great listener, and a genuinely thoughtful and compassionate person. It was clear to me that this is more than just a job for her—it is her passion. I am beyond grateful that not only I, but also my children, had the opportunity to know Wendy. I highly recommend her as a postpartum doula during one of the most vulnerable and transformative periods in a woman's life. She was exactly the right person for my family, and I am confident she will be for yours as well.

I love writing reviews, but only for people who truly deserve it — and Suzi Schwartz absolutely does! We hired Suzi to help with potty training our daughter, and I honestly cannot thank her enough. Suzi is incredibly knowledgeable, with years of experience, and the moment she explained what was going on and shared her tips, everything finally made sense. I had tried potty training twice on my own before and felt like I failed each time. The third time, I wanted to make sure I didn’t fail again — so I hired Suzi, and it was the best decision. After just one month, my daughter was fully potty trained. She started at 2 years 3 months old and was completely trained by 2 years 4 months. Suzi made the whole process smooth, supported us the entire time, and truly set us up for success. Thank you so much, Suzi. It was wonderful working with you, and I’m so grateful for the amazing outcome!
