My name is Kayla Grey, and I am a certified Birth and Postpartum Doula in Swartz Creek, Michigan. I service Southeast Michigan as well as Genesee and Shiawassee counties. I have been supporting birthing families for 10 years and attended hundreds of births. I also have a lot of experience in providing postpartum support to clients, I'm certified in childbirth education, also teaching newborn care classes and am also a certified yoga instructor specializing in Prenatal. I am CPR certified. I encapsulate placentas and create keepsakes for clients. I have been a doula for almost nine years now and am the President of the Lansing Doula Network. I am the lucky parent of 2 beautiful children who, as CLICHE as it is, are the absolute light of my life! I have a 3 year old son who melts hearts for a living (Ha! He knows he’s a little ham), and a very intelligent 11 year old daughter who loves art, kittens, and peace and quiet away from her brother (we are your typical American family you can say lol..). I have a wonderful significant other named Brandon who has helped me to be able to support my client families and community. Every time I take off for a birth, he says “Take your time with them, babe! Your clients need and deserve it!” Brandon also supported the growth of our family when we decided to introduce two cats to our household earlier this year! Felix is a super friendly kitty who gives strange, but satisfying human-like hugs and Doula (yes, I did think this was hilarious at the time lol) is a total sweetie who is always ready for love! Shortly after we adopted our final family member, Clyde, a super relaxed bearded dragon who quickly learned that if he acted EXTRA cute I would probably offer him an extra bug instead of making him eat ALL of his fruit and veggie salad. As IRONIC as it is, in the experiences of creating and bringing up my family, life has shaped me into a person with a passion in serving other people who are bringing up their own growing families. As someone with the experience of a teenage mother, I am transparent of the fact that pregnancy, birth, and parenting can be a scary road to navigate if you are doing it without support, guidance, or knowledge of “how all this works.” I have a passion for what I do because I believe every current and expecting mother deserves to have someone they can turn to without judgement and biases in a time that can be an excruciatingly vulnerable time for a lot of us.

My degree is in human biology, so you can be sure that I love evidence based practices and that I find the human body astounding in its ability to birth. Hi! My name is Alyssa I am a birth doula and living in southeast Michigan. I have always loved babies, caring for my friends, and giving my all and helping whenever they are pregnant, postpartum, or simply raising their families. I have always enjoyed being able to offer acts of service and support to others, and becoming a doula has helped me embrace this love language in so many new ways I never knew possible. With becoming a doula, my goal is to help support new families and moms by emotionally and physically supporting them through pregnancy, birth and postpartum. Advocating for them with knowledge, and helping them make thought out decisions when needed in labor. I want to help every mom take back their birth and make it an experience they love to talk about and remember. As said in Isaiah chapter 66, verse 13, “As a mother comforts her child, so I will comfort you.” My goal as a doula is to hold the mother through every stage and be there for her and her family.

I am a DONA-certified birth doula practicing in the Ann Arbor, MI area. I believe that doula support is a right, not a privilege, so my fees are nominal and my services are above and beyond. In addition to the usual DONA certification training, I am also trained through Survivor Moms and I also volunteer with the Michigan Prison Doula Initiative, in addition to my private practice. I have no time cut-off, so if your labor is moving slowly, I will stay with you all the way. After spending time with parents who had relatively no postpartum care or support, I soon started my training to bridge that gap. I believe that the postpartum period is one of the most crucial stages of pregnancy. Many parents experience feelings of loneliness, confusion, and exhaustion and it is Maria’s top priority to help parents feel their best during your fourth trimester. Maria believes that every family who wants a doula should have one. Promoting a judgement free zone, she happily works with families and individuals of any age, race, & gender.
