Nikki is amazing! She trained under me for twelve weeks in The Bradley Method and I assisted her during her first natural birth. Since then, Nikki has been extremely passionate in becoming the very best Doula she can be. We started Your Birth Helper Ga and Nikki serves the majority of our Atlanta and surrounding areas. Our focus is low intervention/ natural birth, but we support all families no matter how baby exits the womb. Nikki is also a tremendously effective childbirth educator and knows how to properly train her clients to meet their goals. As a doula, she works tirelessly often without sleep or breaks to help each couple overcome hurdles, etc. she continues to be my lead #1 Atlanta / Gwin area Doula but also serves clients within 75-100 mile radius. As postpartum doula she does her very best to support mom and baby, as well. Hands down Nikki is one of the best! She will invest in your birth like no other! We help couples have happier “BIRTH” days! Choose Nikki and she can do the same for YOU!

I am a professional labor doula and childbirth educator. I hold a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Georgia. I am a dedicated and compassionate labor doula, committed to empowering women and families throughout their pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum journey. With a background in mental health and a passion for supporting expectant mothers, I bring a wealth of knowledge, experience, and empathy to my role as a doula. My calming demeanor and reassuring presence help to alleviate anxiety and promote a sense of calm during what can be an intense and transformative experience. I have called North Georgia home for the last 18 years. I’ve been married to my husband Adam for 5 years. We have two boys under the age of four. In my spare time I enjoy volunteering on my church’s hospitality team, gardening, and spending time outside with my family. I became interested in becoming a doula after experiencing the benefits of hiring a doula for my second birth. I find great joy in walking with women in their motherhood journey.

I genuinely cannot begin to say how thankful I am for Alexis and how she walked with us through our journey to parenthood. We had two prenatal meetings where she met with my husband and I to talk through our birth wishes and just get to know us as people. She focused on getting to know the "why" behind our birth wishes and not just the "what." Her background in counseling was such a perfect fit with her doula services as she helped us walk through the crazy emotions that surround birth and becoming a parent. We talked through how I would feel emotionally if my birth didn't go "according to plan;" we talked about how our marriage was doing in the midst of the pregnancy. Her birth class was super helpful in it made us informed and prepared about what would and could happen during birth. She did check ins after every OB appointment to see how things were going and see how I was feeling every step of the way. When my water broke, she checked in every few hours to keep up with my early labor and give us tips for the early contractions and then met us at the hospital when I was in active labor. I had all back labor, and she and my husband took turns giving me counter pressure on my back for hours. She helped guide me on when to switch positions and try new tactics. She was even there to help with little things like moving our car because it was still parked out front. After our son was born, Alexis stayed with us a few more hours until we were fully settled in our recovery room. She did a follow up meeting with us about a week after delivery and just sat with us and helped me process my birth experience which thankfully was everything that I wanted, but it's still a lot to process. Alexis set up a meal train for us and even brought a meal herself. She texted and checked in with how I was healing, how I was doing emotionally, and just how I was adjusting to motherhood every few days after birth and then weekly for the first two months postpartum. My husband and I genuinely felt like we weren't in this alone, that we had a guide walking through it with us. It was so nice that my husband could support me emotionally and didn't have to worry about having all of the knowledge to specifically support me during labor - he could focus on being my husband and not my coach. We just felt so supported and encouraged the entire journey. She constantly went above and beyond what a typical doula would do. I cannot rave about Alexis enough, and our plan is to have her present for all future childbirths.

I have worked with Aerkya since 2019 for 4 pregnancies and it wasn't until this last one that I realized that the reason we came to blows was totally my fault. There was no physical altercation and I can't even say that there was a heated verbal exchange because I did all of the verbal attacking and used all the inflammatory language. For my first pregnancy she was beyond helpful to my family. She was more than a doula and something like a therapist. She showed up for me not just physically but emotionally and I know I got on her nerves with as much as I called and texted her. She has NEVER said this but I'm sure I was a nag. My second delivery in 2021 was much of the same but I'd lost my dad at the end of my pregnancy. I went into labor the day after his funeral and she literally held me while I dealt with every emotion known to man. My third delivery in 2023 was my easiest pregnancy and delivery and she was there every step of the way. My most recent delivery this year 2026 was rough. The pregnancy and the delivery were hard on me physically and emotionally and while Aerkya did her best to keep me focused on the main goal, I was not a walk in the park to deal with. I have moved about 50 minutes away from where I lived with the first three deliveries and because I have had home deliveries I always wanted to make sure my birth team could get to me easily. I went into labor around 5 am in the morning but I didn't call her until maybe 8:30. Knowing with morning traffic it would be at least a hour almost 2 to reach me. I called her several times to see where she was knowing she was in traffic and hearing her driving and horns honking in the background. She stayed calm even though I was a real you know what. I cursed at her, I yelled at her, I told her that she should've just known that I was in labor. And if you get to know her, you know she can match your fire but she didn't. She remained calm and gentle with me and to this day I don't know why she didn't go off on me. I didn't even call my midwife I just called Aerkya. I found out later that she called my midwife on her way to my house because she lives even farther away and it would be an even longer drive for her. I ended up delivering my baby that 2:27 that afternoon and I was happy but still dealing with other personal stuff so I was mean even after having a healthy baby with no complications. I yelled because Aerkya and the midwife were there. They did nothing wrong to me or my children. Aerkya called and texted me, my husband, my mom, my sister and my best friend DAILY to check on me and the baby. They would tell me to reach out to her to just let her know we were ok but instead I called her, cursed and yelled at her and told her not to contact me or my family again. All she said was okay and if you experience her "okay", you'll learn that she basically told me she was done with me. I found out later on that she kept reaching out to my husband, sister and best friend to help them help me. It took me about a month to feel something like myself again and I realized that I was mean to my entire family. I reached out to my midwife and Aerkya to apologize and make things right. I went back through texts and realized just how horrible I was to her. She still tried to be there for me. I have reached out countless times in the past month and haven't gotten a response and I deserve that. I wouldn't respond to me either. Aerkya went above and beyond for me each pregnancy but I had unrealistic expectations of her this time around. Aerkya has a calm presence that you wouldn't even realize you need until it's there. She listens attentively and I never felt rushed with her. Even if she had decided not to show up for my delivery because I was nasty to her I could never replace or ignore how she showed up for me through other pregnancies and deliveries and through this one. I hope she will have me for any further pregnancies because I'm not working with anyone else but her.
