"I can not recommend Jenn (Destiny Doula) enough! After having a c-section with my first born I was determined to have a vbac for my second pregnancy and wanted extra support to ensure that my wishes were heard! I started searching for a doula and after chatting with Jenn on the phone I knew she was a perfect fit. I was concerned for my husband when it came time for labor and delivery wanted to be sure that he was also taken care of so I could remain as calm as possible! Jenn is a saint, she listens and understands to what you’re wanting and she knew what to do to help me through labor when I didn’t even know what I needed. I still remember the calming smell of the essential oil she had misting in my room, the dimming of the lights and quieting the beeping machines. She’s like a Mary Poppins; she rolls in with everything needed and is so reassuring without stepping over your wishes at anytime. After 12 hours and vomiting through labor she was there to welcome our baby girl all while documenting it through pictures that I didn’t even realize were being taken. I cannot thank her enough for empowering me and helping me have the birthing experience I desired.

Birth is unpredictable. Being prepared doesn't have to be. Do you ever wonder... - How do I prepare for labor and birth? - Will I know when it's really time to go to the hospital? - What happens if my birth doesn't go according to plan? - How can I avoid feeling overwhelmed during labor? - Will my partner know how to support me? - What if I need an induction, epidural, or even an unexpected C-section? - How do I make confident decisions in the moment? I support all births - normal to high-risk pregnancies - through personalized prenatal coaching. When we work together, I'll help you prepare for your actual birth. You'll understand what to expect from the first signs of labor through the Golden Hour, learn how to navigate unexpected situations, communicate confidently with your healthcare team, and approach birth feeling informed, empowered, and ready. In the hospital, I'll guide you to have a faster labor through meaningful position changes and breathwork. I proudly serve families covered by Kaiser Permanente, giving birth at Oakland, Walnut Creek, Antioch, and Vallejo. I also support all Medi-Cal patients, regardless of health plan. If you're delivering in Contra Costa County or at a designated Kaiser hospital, I'll join you in person for your hospital birth. Families outside the area can receive the same comprehensive birth preparation through convenient telehealth appointments. I'm a Public Health Doctor focused on maternal health and a Certified Birth Doula by DONA International. I trained at UC Davis Medical Center as a birth doula for high-risk births, where I still volunteer today and train new doula cohorts. For patient safety, I am background checked and maintain medical clearance. Ready to secure a doula? Schedule your initial telehealth prenatal visit with me at www.yesidoula.com. If you're still deciding on a doula, have questions about insurance, or simply nervous, book a complimentary telehealth instead and let's talk about your goals. YOU NEED A DOULA!!! If you're on the fence about whether or not you should get a doula, I'll save you the time of reading the rest of this review. The answer is YES! And Dr Rae is 1000000/10! Having a doula should be a requirement to give birth. I really would not have made it through my birth without Dr Rae. I had a traumatic birth with my first so going into my second pregnancy/birth I knew I wanted extra support. Dr Rae has a really strong medical background so not only did she provide incredible emotional support but I felt really confident having her on my support team because I knew she could help calm my anxiety and reassure me everything was ok or what signs to look out for if it wasn't. During labor she provided coping tools (god bless that TENS machine and massage gun!!) and position changes. She was right there with me rubbing my back through contractions and coaching me through pushing. She helped my baby latch right after birth and made sure I was settled in the postpartum unit before leaving. My husband was great and all but I truly couldn't have done it without Dr Rae to provide all the experience and knowledge (even he said he wouldn't have known what to do and was so thankful for Dr Rae)! I had such a positive birth and Dr Rae will always hold a special place in my heart because of it.

This work comes from a deep belief that no family should ever feel alone during this journey. I work closely alongside our team of doulas, sharing the same commitment to compassionate, evidence-based care. Together, we have supported thousands of families across Northern and Southern California, providing steady guidance, reassurance, and hands-on support when it matters most. Our doulas are carefully selected, certified, and deeply cared for. Every team member is Birth and Postpartum Certified, Perinatal Mood Disorders Certified, CPR trained, HIPAA compliant, fully vetted, and insured. With ongoing mentorship and professional development, we ensure families receive safe, reliable, and heart-centered care in their homes. I created DOULAS by the BAY to build a trusted, supportive space where families feel seen, informed, and confident—while expanding access to doula care and strengthening our community, one family at a time.

Shakila is the best there is. We did not have a night doula for our first child. For our second, we needed one because I had to go back to work right away. I was very nervous about leaving my baby with someone else during the night hours, particularly at just two weeks. Shakila let me control as much of the process as I wanted to so I always felt like she was doing what I wanted. She has a magical touch with babies and had our daughter sleeping through the night by two months old. She would not even leave in the morning until the baby was back to sleep, which allowed us an extra hour of sleep on top of the time she was with us. She was worth every penny and then some. THANK YOU SHAKILA! We miss you.

Finding Ginger less than a month before my due date felt like pure fate—she literally approached us as we were walking out the door at a Meet the Doulas event, and we felt instantly warm, comfortable, and at ease with her. My labor didn't exactly go on schedule (he arrived almost two weeks late and required an induction!), but Ginger was our absolute anchor through every single moment of it. She is such a nurturing, loving, and caring maternal soul—so much so that we affectionately call her "Aunt Ginger." Leading up to and during the induction, she gave us incredible guidance, helping us try to get things moving naturally with advice on pressure points and keeping us grounded. Throughout the hospital stay, whenever the medical staff left the room, Ginger would quietly review everything with us, help us process what the doctors had said, and make sure we remembered the questions we wanted to ask. When the medical team brought up using a vacuum during delivery, Ginger gently encouraged us to pause, push back, and ask for time to discuss our options. Having her there to prep, advocate, and vouch for us meant everything—we ended up having a completely intervention-free birth and welcomed a perfectly healthy, beautiful 10-pound baby. Ginger was truly an angel during one of the most intense experiences of my life, and she is someone we will remember and cherish forever. If you are looking for a doula who will treat you like family, protect your birth experience, and pour her whole heart into supporting you, hire Ginger immediately!

There are people who do a job, and then there are people who change your life. Dessira is the latter. She entered our lives when our son was born premature and jaundiced. Dessira helped our baby gain weight and, at the same time, provided calm encouragement that helped us become confident parents. That gift is priceless, and I will never forget it. She returned to us when our son was two and stayed until he was six. During those years, she helped us build a nutrition and activity plan. This kept him energized, curious, and challenged--without empty calories or screens. The positive effects of this plan are too many to list here, but the best was his dramatically improved sleep schedule. My son had a mildly rocky transition from nursery school to a TK/K mix to a TK-only class. At the time, I worked 60-70-hour workweeks and cannot overstate the comfort of knowing my son was safe, stimulated, and thriving with Dessira during the day. At night, I was able to be fully present with my son because Dessira handled housework and other distractions that would have taken away from that precious time. She did this without being asked. I'm grateful to her because if she hadn't, I wouldn't have thought of it. Dessira is exceptional with infants and children of all ages. She is calm under pressure because she has a deep well of knowledge and experience to draw from. She prioritizes safety -- the safety of their bodies, of course, and also their minds and hearts. She values imagination and curiosity, and she brings genuine warmth, humor, and fun to every day. Dessira is unique in that she cares for the whole family as a single ecosystem, where the health of all depends on the health of each. She is a wonderful listener, and as she learns what matters to you -- as parents, as people -- she reflects that back to you with encouragement and practical creativity. When I said, "Well, ideally we'd do this, but that's probably unrealistic," her response was, "Maybe so -- but let's talk about it for a minute, just to see." Most of the time, with a bit of creativity and brainstorming, we made it happen. When we didn't, I felt supported and seen, which I found to be equally valuable. It makes a big difference in my life when a smart, energetic person is on my team. I'm better at my job, I'm a better partner, and I'm a better mom. If you are lucky enough to get Dessira in your corner, I am genuinely happy for you and your family to have the kind of support that will enrich your lives.

Rejeanna was there throughout my whole pregnancy, birth, and post partum. I learned so much during my pregnancy from her and she just really listened to me and how I felt. Then while delivering she was amazing and helped me as a first time momma after I delivered. She has not only been an amazing doula but she has also become a friend.

We are incredibly grateful to have had Rosangela as our doula during our baby’s first month of life. From day one, she was punctual, reliable, and—most importantly—exceptionally caring with our newborn. Rosangela supported us for four weeks and was flexible with her schedule, even accommodating our request for a later start. When her assignment with us was coming to an end, she went above and beyond by helping us find a second doula to ensure continuity of care as well as training that doula to ensure no disruption. Even after rolling off, she has continued to check in with us, offering guidance and thoughtful support, which has meant so much during the postpartum period. During her time with us, Rosangela supported night feedings by gently waking both mom and baby, assisted with latching, burped the baby, and handled diaper changes throughout feeds. She supported our baby’s first bath, helped with baby laundry, and took care of all breast pump setup and cleanup—assembling parts, washing them, and making sure everything was ready for the next pumping session. These details made an enormous difference during those early, exhausting weeks. She consistently offered helpful advice and reassurance, always in a respectful way that made us feel supported rather than directed. Rosangela brought a calm, nurturing presence into our home, and we truly felt that our baby was in loving, experienced and capable hands. We wholeheartedly recommend Rosangela to any family looking for a knowledgeable, compassionate, and dependable doula. She was an invaluable part of our postpartum journey.

We highly recommend Divya to anyone struggling with their baby's sleep. Before we found her, bedtime was exhausting. We had to rock our son for 15–30 minutes just to get him down, and even then he'd only sleep 2–3 hours at a stretch. We were both drenched in sweat from all the rocking, and only my wife or I could get him to sleep, even with help at home, no one else could manage it. Divya reassured us that even a 10 week old could be sleep shaped and eventually sleep trained. We followed her guidance, and within just 2 days, our son was sleeping independently in his bassinet. He's now 7 months old, and he has slept independently ever since. We've never had to rock him again. Divya helped us build a solid bedtime routine, and now he wakes up at most once during a 12 hour night, sometimes not at all. Naps have become effortless too. What surprised us most is that better sleep didn't just help nighttime, it transformed his wake windows too. He became more predictable, more active, and more engaged while awake. That gave us the confidence to travel with him, and since then we've taken him to 2 countries, 7 states, and 9 flights, and he's thrived through all of it, even across different time zones, thanks to Divya's guidance on managing sleep while traveling. Without Divya, none of this would have been possible. She gave us our lives back while giving our son the gift of great sleep. If you're a new parent struggling with sleep, don't wait. Reach out to Divya as early as possible. It will make parenting so much easier.

Supporting new parents during the sacred early days of parenthood is not just my work—it's my calling. I became a postpartum doula because I believe every family deserves to feel cared for, understood, and supported as they adjust to life with a newborn. My journey into this field began when I moved to California during my two years as an au pair, caring for young children and living closely with families. That experience sparked a deep passion in me for helping others navigate the tender, transformative moments of new beginnings. I saw firsthand how much of a difference compassionate, hands-on support can make —and I knew I wanted to offer that to growing families in a deeper way.

Brenda helped us for one month after delivery during the nights. As first time parents Brenda supported us very well. She taught us how to set up the nursery, bottle types, swaddles, baby safety, etc. She is a very knowledgeable doula! She took care of our baby boy very well. During the nights she was very attentive to our baby including routine feedings, diaper changes, cleaning bottles, laundry, and bringing my pump parents to me during the middle of the night. Brenda was always on time and provided a lot of insight on how to take care of our little one. I would highly recommend Brenda as a doula you can trust.

I can’t recommend Jaye Danielle enough if you’re considering a doula! Her communication, well-thought-out advice, and preparation were so helpful throughout the whole process. The in-home labor prep was especially helpful in getting us ready for what to expect. Since our daughter was born, Jaye has continued to check in, do postpartum checks, and offer advice and support. I really appreciated having someone knowledgeable to help guide us through not just labor and delivery, but postpartum too. I’m so grateful we had Jaye there to support us through it all. 💗

I reached out for support because I was feeling really anxious about attempting a TOLAC. I wasn’t sure if I should go for it, but after having many honest conversations, I felt completely heard and supported. That helped me make a decision I truly felt good about. On the day of my delivery, she came right away. Her bright encouragement and Naoko’s calming presence helped me shift from fear to confidence. In the end, I had a successful VBAC, and it turned into the best birth experience I could have hoped for. I’m so grateful I chose Naoko’s support and would absolutely recommend her to anyone considering a TOLAC or VBAC.
