I’m a DONA Certified Birth Doula & Advanced VBAC Doula, Certified Lactation Counselor, owner of Saltwater Doula, and an educator and agency coordinator at the Relief Doula Agency based out of Relief Parenting Respite and Resource Center in Hampton, NH. I am a mother and professional nanny who was nurtured during my prenatal and postpartum periods, which I am grateful for. I am a certified birth and postpartum doula and newborn care specialist, but what I offer is not expert advice. There is an overload of information now that seems overwhelming to new mothers. I offer the knowledge that motherhood is a rite of passage that occurs naturally with guidance and companionship, not a list of tasks to do and information to learn. Motherhood is learned through experience and by being surrounded by caring mothers. I am available for prenatal visits to help prepare mothers for their birth. I am available for the whole birth or the beginning phase of birth to be present in your home before the transition to the hospital. In college, I studied nursing (my mom is a nurse), as well as reproductive health. As a doula, I love being able to care for babies and help families adjust to this new stage of life. It makes me happy knowing I’m making a difference in someone’s home. Building relationships and trust with families is important to me, something I take seriously as your doula. Prior to becoming a doula, I worked as an overnight newborn care specialist, nanny and infant teacher– supporting babies and collaborating with parents.
