Jade is absolutely amazing. She was not my Doula. She was just a friend of mine who happened to be there when I went to an emergency hysterectomy and the thought of not being able to have children really broke me and Jade was there to bring me up and support me help me through my hard times my depression helping me make sure I’m managing my medication taking it out on time as well as treating me like family. We are so thankful for Kim and her crew during those early months with our daughter. Even as a second time mom it is so helpful to have an extra set of seasoned eyes on your newborn. Our daughter was dealing with some gas issues. She was able to help us figure out what worked for our daughter. We adjusted her bottle and post feeding routine to help alleviate the gas. I also feel that they help lay the ground work for independent sleep which is such a blessing! We cannot thank them enough for the care they have provided for both of our children. Allie came into our lives at such a pivotal moment in time and I will forever be grateful that our paths crossed when they did. As a first time mom, I had spent hours of time reading, listening, and meditating in preparation for our twin home birth - I knew that I wanted a support person in addition to my husband, but I didn't know exactly what that looked like in practical form. I'd had another doula planning to accompany our home birth, but in the final weeks of my pregnancy, she was not able to support me after all. That's where Allie gracefully came into the picture. She quietly and seamlessly entered into my birthing den and as she held space for my surges while my husband could take a rest, I noticeably felt so much more relaxed and at peace. Even though labor was progressing quickly, it all felt significantly smoother with Allie's presence at my side. She kept me hydrated and nourished so that as my body did the handwork, my mind could be at rest. This was happening. This was right. This was meant to be We welcomed our Lana Rose at 6:12pm after a 12 hour labor. Our Esme Jane came just a short 10 minutes later at 6:22pm. Allie was there to hold my hand and my heart through the most empowering experience of my life. She captured the most beautiful moments on camera that I will cherish forever, and cared for me so thoroughly and attentively in my hours after the birth. Allie is, in short, like both a sister and a best friend all wrapped into one amazing soul. Her presence made every difference not only for me, but also for my husband. We will forever be grateful to her for sharing her heart with us in abundance on that special day.

We hired Hilary as our Postpartum Doula and she provided us critical support, care, and counsel from day one of leaving the hospital with our newborn son. I don't know how we could have gotten through this phase without her regular day and night time visits. The breaks she provided us a few times a week were invaluable: leaving our son with someone we fully trusted to catch up on sleep or even run errands. She was also a constant ear for us with all of our new-parent questions: from our baby's health, to breastfeeding, to products. Hilary has a great approach to coming into your home and making everything feel smooth and easy. Ranee helped me give birth to my son a week ago. I began this pregnancy receiving prenatal care from a hospital local to me. During my time with the hospital, they made me feel scared about my birth due to my age, and history of high blood pressure in my first pregnancy. Each appointment was very short and I never felt like I mattered to the provider. The final straw of me leaving the medical model was the doctor pushing the rhogam shot on me even after I explained that my husband and I both have negative blood types so we don’t need the shot. The doctors reply was to ask me if I am sure the baby is my husbands and then pushed third trimester ultrasounds on me to see if my placenta was old, the fluid too little or the baby too big, none of which has evidence based benefit to get a late term ultrasound. I left my final appointment feeling insulted and that I wasn’t listened to. This is when I found Ranee. From the very beginning of our interaction, she gave me evidence based options and made me feel confident in my ability to birth my baby naturally. She made sure to monitor my blood pressure, levels in my blood and my glucose levels. Each prenatal appointment, she spoke to me as someone she cared about and was very thorough to look into my diet and water intake and solve problems before they develop. I enjoyed the hands on approach as she felt my baby’s position, could estimate the fluid levels and heard the heart beat of my son as he moved to ensure the placenta was working as it should. The one difficult part about this model of care is the need for the mother to be understanding of Ranee’s changing schedule. Ranee has clients in all different stages of care and when someone is dealing with pregnancy loss, giving birth or other emotional factors in their life, Ranee is there with them providing care. This is both a negative and a positive because it means when you are dealing with something difficult, she will be there for you too. When it came time that I was in labor, we were set up with everything we needed. My husband was able to make a beautiful sacred space with candle light, incense and Gregorian chants in the background. It was so beautiful and relaxing. When I was ready to give birth, Ranee was there helping me to relax and reassuring me that I could do it. I gave birth to my son in a birthing pool with my midwife standing by watching over me and providing hands on help as needed. Between the two models, I would choose to give birth at the house with Ranee standing by every time. I know if she tells me I need to transfer to the hospital it would be for good reason and not because my birth became inconvenient for her. The birth of my son is a moment I will remember forever with fondness.
