Having Michelle as part of our birth process was one of the absolute best decisions we made. We really wanted someone who had a deep knowledge and could help prepare us yet also be emotionally / psychologically supportive - and she was incredible. Her calm yet empowering energy, her levelheaded acumen, her kind consideration and openness - she made all the difference not only in the delivery room but before and after as well! Michelle prepared us thoroughly regarding what to expect, provided us lots of 'tools' (i.e. resources, information, exercises, etc) to have in our toolbox, and when things were happening during labor she was a grounding presence able to help ask the right questions, make sure I was approaching things the way I wanted to, and we felt incredibly supported the whole time. She made the room a little oasis which I truly believe contributed to me relaxing and ultimately having a smooth delivery. She is the best - anyone would be lucky to have her on their team. <3

Our experience with Liz was truly wonderful! With Liz, you will feel safe, heard, & held through one of the most important moments of your life. When we initially spoke, it was probably 2 minutes into the conversation when we knew she was the right doula. The call ended, my husband & I looked at each other & immediately said, "I LOVED her." Liz laid out everything that we should expect, & did it in a way where we didn't feel judged. Others had tried to convince us that we had unresolved trauma, or had made mistakes in previous births. Liz's trust in us knowing what we needed was so reassuring. During the pregnancy, Liz is there if you need her, checking in to see how appts. went, & getting a feel for your mindset approaching birth. Liz was vital in my ability to remain calm as my due date came, then passed by 9 days! We discussd ways to help encourage labor, different scenarios as 42 weeks approached, & reassurances that my baby & body knew what they were doing. Being a 3rd time mom I really thought I knew it all, but when things went so much longer than we all expected, I was so grateful to have Liz's calm & confident presence. At OBC, Liz arrived exactly when I needed her. She easily fit into the flow of labor offering assistance to me, & guiding my husband to help through contractions. Liz understands when to step to the forefront, & also when to hang back. Her experience & presence in the birthing space made me feel more supported & calm than I had previously. My labor was fast, but I never felt like I lost control. Liz took stunning photos during birth, capturing all of the phases of labor, recovery, & beautiful shots of the baby. The photos will be cherished by our family for the rest of our lives! Liz doesn't disappear after you're done having the baby. She checks in during your recovery at home, & even comes to visit. We loved working with Liz!

Chandel is a gem! She was communicative from the start, and went the extra mile when it came to insurance verification, which is usually an annoying process. She was such a calming and supportive presence during those overwhelming first few weeks with our newborn. Her steady reassurance, patience, and kindness made a huge difference for our family during a challenging transition. We felt genuinely cared for and supported every step of the way.

Hey, I’m Kaleish, a public health practitioner, doctoral student (in public health) and a certified full-spectrum (birth and postpartum) doula. I currently hold certifications in providing NICU doula support as well as High Risk doula support. I am currently in training to be a certified community lactation educator. Think of me as your perinatal support person. I support women and birthing people of color who are feeling dismissed, unsure, or overwhelmed during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I started this work because I realized how many women of color are navigating pregnancy without the support, guidance, or advocacy they deserve. It deeply concerns me how often Black and Brown women have their concerns dismissed by medical providers—sometimes resulting in traumatic and avoidable birth experiences. Now, I help women and birthing people of color move from feeling unheard and unsure to feeling informed, supported, and empowered to advocate for themselves and their birth preferences. If you’re a woman or birthing person of color feeling dismissed, unsure, or overwhelmed—you’re in the right place. This journey is yours. I’m simply here to hold space, answer your questions, and make sure you feel safe, seen, and supported every step of the way. Random Facts: I've supported births at Katz Women's Hospital at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, Hungtinton Hospital, NewYork-Presbyterian Alexandra Cohen Hospital for Women and Newborns and NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. I am a lefty/ left handed. I don't have a sense of direction even with a map, however, I will find my way to support you. I was born in the Caribbean and spent most of my childhood and some of my teenage years living there. I love me some 80s and 90s black sitcoms. Book Your Free Consultation: Book Now via https://calendly.com/kaysgentlehands/30min?back=1&month=2026-07

Before I went to Jade's childbirth class at Montclair BABY, I had never heard of a doula. Her class was holistic of all the options during labor and delivery, and my husband and I felt like Jade could be the perfect support person to ease my anxiety during pregnancy and labor. We were absolutely right. Jade offered continuous comfort and information for me throughout my pregnancy. She is extremely knowledgeable and thorough and gave advice for things I hadn't even considered. Being someone who has always been terrified of childbirth, Jade eased my anxiety leaps and bounds. We prepared for it beforehand, but once I went into labor, Jade supported us over the phone and at my home before we went to the hospital. My birth went from something that I used to fear, to something I now look back on with fond memories (I think that's a wild transformation) and I truly credit a lot of that to Jade. She was an advocate for me at the hospital, she rarely left my side except when I needed alone time with my husband, and she encouraged me. She worked cooperatively with the rest of the birth team. Dare I say birth was actually a little fun? I whole heartedly recommend Jade as a doula and would love to have her at my future births. There really aren't enough words to describe how grateful I am for her.

Hi New Parents & Returning Parents, My name is Anjanette Rebecca. I’m birth obsessed & I finally have the courage to admit it. I’m a little of a lot of things. I’m a full spectrum doula who supports families and individuals across all walks of life. From zygote to 130 years old. Reproductive health is who I am. Bodily autonomy is what I’ve supported since I was a child. I stepped into my mother’s shoes at an early age. My mother was the original reproductive health guru. My mom passed away before I had time to say goodbye. Grief became the catalyst that changed my life for the best. I meet Individuals and families that are kind enough to trust me with something so sacred. That will always be one of the biggest blessing in my life. I’ve cared for thousands of clients locally & internationally. My ultimate goal is YOU. Your family, your very valid fears, your tears & your happiness. I guide expectant families and individuals in embodying their role as the first teacher in their children’s life. Our body is our children’s first home, it will and always should be respected. Dads, that includes you. Your little one finds comfort in your presence before they’re even born. Your voice and kisses will be one of your child’s favorite things. My business & my baby, Birth & Beyond, NYC is an extension of my family; fellow educators like myself, with a combined 206 years of supporting vulnerable populations in New York City. In October 2026, I will celebrate 26 years in the healthcare industry, 18 years as a registered nurse. It’s an honor to be a part of birth, an intimate time for families to come together. I navigated my first pregnancy alone-there’s so much power in being a single parent too. I’m here to hold individuals & families through one of the most breathtaking and potentially chaotic moments of their lives. Parenthood is a massive upgrade and a heroic space to hold. Please don’t let the internet scare you. It scares me! But we have access to so much information. It is normal to feel overwhelmed by it. I pray that you enter pregnancy & your birth space with confidence. Tap me in if you need someone to kick the door off its hinges, metaphorically speaking of course :) As for me, I’m a Brooklyn native, currently enjoying life in Staten Island, NY. I spend most my time having juicy conversations, tending to 179 indoor plants, barefoot & not pregnant :) I spend time off social media, reading books and finding myself in nature.
