I am an experienced birth doula who has supported many mothers and families through pregnancy and birth. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, which shapes the way I support labor—especially through understanding how babies navigate the pelvis and how movement and positioning can make a real difference. I support both mothers and fathers as they prepare for and move through birth together. I’m also a mother of four, and I spent nine years living in Boise, where much of my experience and passion for birth work grew.

Hiring Stephani as our doula was one of the best decisions we made for our first pregnancy and birth experience. My husband and I were both new to labor and delivery, and we were hoping for an unmedicated birth while also wanting extra support and guidance throughout the process. We especially appreciated Stephani’s background in exercise science and how knowledgeable and practical she was during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. One thing that really stood out to us was how balanced and supportive she was about birth preferences. While we were hoping to avoid an epidural, we appreciated that Stephani was never rigid or judgmental about it. She talked through the realities of labor in such a calm, practical way and helped us feel confident that whatever decisions needed to be made in the moment would be okay. Her labor and delivery prep sessions earlier in pregnancy were incredibly helpful, especially for my husband. We wanted him to feel empowered and supported too, and Stephani did an amazing job helping him understand how to support me while also giving him reassurance and validation throughout the process. When labor started, my husband texted Stephani early in the morning and she responded immediately. She came to our house at 5am, helped us figure out when it was truly time to head to the hospital, and once we arrived, she helped us get settled quickly — even making sure our car got parked safely while we got checked in. Once we were in the room, she immediately created such a calming environment with lights and getting the bath ready, which was especially appreciated because my labor ended up being very fast. During labor, Stephani provided amazing physical support while also intentionally stepping back at times to let my husband take the lead. She made us feel completely in control of our own birth experience while still offering expertise and guidance exactly when we needed it. She also captured photos and videos throughout labor and delivery that I absolutely treasure. After we brought our baby home, Stephani continued checking in and supporting us. She also connected me with a fantastic lactation consultant, which ended up being incredibly helpful postpartum. We truly cannot recommend Stephani enough. Having her by our side made us both feel more confident, supported, and cared for throughout the entire experience.

McKinnley Cable

15 years of experience

Experienced newborn care specialist/newborn night nanny. I'm 35, a mom to 3 boys, and I currently work part-time in marketing for a company in Meridian, but still enjoy finding caregiving positions as they align with my schedule because it's something that's dear to my heart. I have worked for 7 different families in the Boise area from 2022-2025 as a night newborn specialist. I’ve provided care for singletons and twins. Main priority was to allow mom and dad more sleep during the initial newborn phase when they sleep very little, which allowed them (parents) to be more rested and present throughout the day. My responsibilities included, but were not limited to: tending to all needs of the newborn(s) all throughout the night from the hours of 10PM-6AM. Feedings, diaper changes, documenting feed and change times, cleaning bottles and/or pump parts, rocking/soothing baby back to sleep, and help to implement a sleep schedule. getting them on a sleeping schedule, etc. I’m 35, a mother to three, and completed my MBA in 2020. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or if you would like any additional information from me. 915-227-6544

Oh how we love McKinnley! After going through a very difficult postpartum season after having my first baby, I knew how important it was to set myself up for success when preparing for our second baby’s arrival. McKinnley was with us the first night I was home from the hospital and her services are priceless. We hired her for four months and had her for 4 nights each week. My postpartum experience the second time around was a night and day difference from my first. Each morning brought the ability to be rested and present with both my toddler and newborn and I had the patience to handle both. McKinnley was so great at communicating with us any needs or concerns, kept us up to date on feeding and sleeping changes, and loved on our little one as if he were her own. We are eternally grateful for her and can’t recommend her enough! She is worth every penny!

Mariah Field

Hello and congratulations on your new little one! I’m Mariah Field, Certified Birth Doula and the owner of The Juniper Birth. I was born and raised in Idaho, and I am honored to walk alongside women as they embark on their journey into motherhood. My passion for birth work began when my son was born at home in April of 2022. Not long after, life took an unexpected turn when he needed a life-saving bone marrow transplant at just six months old. Then, in September of 2025, we faced the heartbreaking loss of our baby girl to the same condition. Those experiences changed me forever. They taught me so much about life, loss, compassion, advocacy, and the importance of trusting a mother’s intuition - lessons I carry with me into every birth space I enter. Bringing a baby into the world is one of the most sacred and transformative experiences a woman can have. My hope is that every family I work with feels supported, informed, and empowered to trust their bodies and their instincts every step of the way. I don't even know where to begin to explain how amazing it was working with Mariah. When we found out we were expecting our second baby we knew we wanted to have a home birth. Our first was born in a hospital without a doula, so I knew this would be a very different experience and I really wanted a doula to support me through my birth. I asked the midwife I was working with if she had any recommendations for doulas who would be a good fit for me, and she gave me a list of a few and Mariah was one of them. Which that in itself says a lot, I really trusted my midwife's judgment, so I reached out to Mariah, and we set up a consultation visit. I had a few other appointments set with different doulas but after meeting with Mariah I had to cancel them because I just knew I wanted to work with Mariah right away! My husband wasn't fully on board with hiring a doula as he didn't really understand what they helped with, but after our birth he was so happy that we hired Mariah to support us through such a beautiful home birth- and I know it felt that way largely because of how Mariah guided us through the entire birth. The night I went into labor I texted Mariah, and she came super quickly, she set everything up so beautifully for us, and helped me with different positions, different pain management techniques, and most importantly to me she helped guide my husband to support me as well. After birth Mariah made me a delicious meal, and made sure everything was set up for me to have a good and smooth postpartum experience. She is such a sweet and amazing human being- and not to mention her birth photography is amazing!!! I'd definitely recommend hiring her to photograph your birth as well as her being your doula- those are photos I will cherish for the rest of my life. Thank you so much Mariah- you were such a blessing to our birth experience, and now to our life.

For all of history, up until the last century or two, birth was a uniquely feminine and sacred event supported by midwives, mothers, sisters, friends, and neighbors. Mothers were given the space, trust, and respect to intuitively birth their children, just as their bodies were designed to. In the 20th century, the modernization of birth care, intended to increase safety, unfortunately pushed labor support out the picture. Doctors became more concerned with outcomes alone than with the transformative experience of birth, itself. The emergence of doulas in the developed world was a desperate and necessary response to the all-too-common technocratic birthing model that has changed society’s entire view and practice of giving birth. The culture of non-medical labor support is thankfully not lost. Women deserve the same sanctity, respect, and space to do what their bodies know best now, as they did for all those centuries. I believe supporting the birth experience in its traditional light is my calling.

Sariah is the perfect mix of every trait you could want in a doula. Fun, lighthearted, sooo deeply compassionate and empathetic, exceptionally knowledgeable, excellent under pressure, and full of passion for and belief in birth. She has so many tricks up her sleeve to keep births moving along, help resolve positional issues, and increase your comfort during labor. She also has amazing herbal knowledge to support all stages of the process. Sariah was a godsend at both my homebirths. She perceived my needs before I ever expressed them. She kept me fed, watered, cool and comfortable. She provided counter pressure with an endless well of patience and strength. She took care of me during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with such love and I am forever grateful! Also: she is a baby whisperer and is amazing with kids of all ages! You won’t find a more capable, knowledgeable or passionate doula. I highly recommend her to every pregnant momma 💗
