Hi there! I’m Sam, a holistic birth and postpartum doula called to walk alongside ALL women and families through the sacred journey of pregnancy, birth, and new motherhood with love and compassion. I believe birth is a God-designed miracle—an experience that invites us to lean into trust, surrender, and the deep wisdom He’s placed within our bodies. As a doula, I support natural, low-intervention birth whenever possible, offering gentle, holistic care rooted in God’s creation. From nourishing foods and herbal remedies to essential oils, prayer, and emotional support, I bring a whole-body approach that honors both the spiritual and physical needs of the birthing woman. Whether you're planning a home birth, hospital birth, or something in between, I’m here to support you with grace, encouragement, and evidence-based care. My mission is to create a peaceful and personal birth space where you feel safe, seen, and empowered—reminding you that your body was beautifully and fearfully made to bring life into this world. I consider it an honor to advocate for you, and be a steady presence as you welcome your baby. I work with women of ALL backgrounds who desire a birth experience rooted in love, faith and trust. If you're seeking a doula who will speak truth, honor your values, and walk this journey hand-in-hand, I’d love to meet you. I believe birth is not just a physical event — it’s a sacred, life-changing moment that shapes families for years to come. Every woman deserves to feel safe, respected, and deeply supported during her pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. Hi, I’m Ashley, a doula serving families in Greater Spokane and North Idaho. My calling into birth work grew from a deep desire to walk alongside women in one of the most vulnerable and transformative times of life. As a Christian, I see each mother and baby as uniquely created and worthy of tender care, but I joyfully serve families of all faiths and backgrounds. My approach blends compassionate presence, evidence-based guidance, and an unwavering belief that you deserve to feel empowered in every decision you make for your body and your baby. My own experiences of pregnancy and motherhood showed me how much difference it makes to have someone in your corner — someone who listens without judgment, holds space for your emotions, and supports the choices that feel right for you. Whether you envision a quiet home birth, a hospital delivery, or something in between, my goal is to help you feel informed, confident, and never alone. Darby Merritt LM, CPM As a small-town local, I have a deep love for all things old-fashioned and being rooted in community. After spending many years on the road, my husband and I feel blessed to have settled in the PNW. We’re raising five growing children who are the light of our lives, with a focus on a deeply rooted, home-centered life—fostered at home through growing our own food, homeschooling, and spending as much time together as this beautiful life allows. Work Life – I’ve been attending births in a variety of roles since 2012. In 2016, I graduated from AAMI Midwifery School, and have been attending births ever since in a variety of roles. I currently hold an active CPM credential and am a licensed midwife in both Washington and Idaho. I maintain current certifications in Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) and CPR/BLS, and I pursue continuing education each year to expand my skills and deepen my understanding of holistic health. Supporting families through the sacred journey of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum brings me profound purpose and joy. I believe in the strength of women and families, the power of autonomy, and the importance of true informed consent. It is an honor to walk alongside families during these life-changing moments.

Recent review

I would highly recommend Darby as a midwife! As a first time mom she was so informative and gave me all the knowledge I needed at every appointment. She aligned so well with my views of wanting a natural, calm, as God designed birth. My birth experience was long and intense as are many but she always remained calm and collected. Giving me assurance that my body would do as it was created to. She embodies knowledge, a sense of calm, and an excitement for new life. She stands by a women’s right to choose how her birth and baby will be brought into this world. Thank you Darby, I look back at my birth with awe of my body and what it can do through patience and perseverance. I wouldn’t change a thing.
