Hiring an overnight doula from Peaceful Passages was one of the best decisions I made for my postpartum recovery. Not only did my doula lovingly care for me and my newborn, she went above and beyond—prepping nourishing meals, providing breastfeeding support, organizing the baby’s nursery, and even helping with my twin toddlers so I could rest. Her calm, professional presence made my healing after a c-section so much easier. I was especially impressed by how seamless everything was—she was professionally dressed, compassionate, and incredibly knowledgeable. On top of that, Peaceful Passages accepted my Carrot insurance and handled all the billing with ease, which lifted such a burden off my shoulders. This service was truly a lifesaver for me and my family. I felt cared for, supported, and able to focus on bonding with my baby. I can’t recommend their overnight doula services enough!

Angela was very helpful in guiding us on our 2nd child birth and giving us very helpful advice in just a 45 minute initial consultation. Unfortunately we couldn't go with them for logistical reasons but would love to use them in the future if possible!

Hello! I’m Naoko. I am a Japanese-trained midwife, birth and postpartum doula, lactation counselor, childbirth educator, and mother of four. Before moving to the United States, I worked as a midwife in Japan, supporting families throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. My approach is centered on the person giving birth. I believe every birthing person deserves to feel heard, respected, informed, and supported in making decisions that are right for them and their family. I draw on both my medical knowledge and my personal experience raising four children to provide practical, compassionate, and individualized support. I welcome families of all backgrounds, races, cultures, gender identities, and sexual orientations, including LGBTQ+ families. I support a wide range of birth preferences and experiences, including unmedicated birth, epidural birth, induction, VBAC, and cesarean birth. I also offer childbirth education, breastfeeding and lactation guidance, prenatal yoga, and bilingual support in English and Japanese. My goal is to help each family feel confident, supported, and empowered throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum journey.

I reached out for support because I was feeling really anxious about attempting a TOLAC. I wasn’t sure if I should go for it, but after having many honest conversations, I felt completely heard and supported. That helped me make a decision I truly felt good about. On the day of my delivery, she came right away. Her bright encouragement and Naoko’s calming presence helped me shift from fear to confidence. In the end, I had a successful VBAC, and it turned into the best birth experience I could have hoped for. I’m so grateful I chose Naoko’s support and would absolutely recommend her to anyone considering a TOLAC or VBAC.

Finding Ginger less than a month before my due date felt like pure fate—she literally approached us as we were walking out the door at a Meet the Doulas event, and we felt instantly warm, comfortable, and at ease with her. My labor didn't exactly go on schedule (he arrived almost two weeks late and required an induction!), but Ginger was our absolute anchor through every single moment of it. She is such a nurturing, loving, and caring maternal soul—so much so that we affectionately call her "Aunt Ginger." Leading up to and during the induction, she gave us incredible guidance, helping us try to get things moving naturally with advice on pressure points and keeping us grounded. Throughout the hospital stay, whenever the medical staff left the room, Ginger would quietly review everything with us, help us process what the doctors had said, and make sure we remembered the questions we wanted to ask. When the medical team brought up using a vacuum during delivery, Ginger gently encouraged us to pause, push back, and ask for time to discuss our options. Having her there to prep, advocate, and vouch for us meant everything—we ended up having a completely intervention-free birth and welcomed a perfectly healthy, beautiful 10-pound baby. Ginger was truly an angel during one of the most intense experiences of my life, and she is someone we will remember and cherish forever. If you are looking for a doula who will treat you like family, protect your birth experience, and pour her whole heart into supporting you, hire Ginger immediately!

My name is Rebecca Garcia and I am thrilled you are seeking out a Doula for your journey. I have a strong energetic pull towards this life changing work, and I am so honored to be pursuing my passion as a birth worker. I love all things birth and feel that my strongest assets are listening, empathy, providing resources and cooking homemade meals for others. I tell all my clients, if there is a birth I am there. With all the stigma and negative depictions in the media surrounding birth, I want to ensure that my clients feel secure in all their decisions without any judgments. This Is Your Body, Your Birth & Only You Get To Make The Decisions That Works Best For You & Your Baby. I have two spirited little ones of my own; ages 4 and 6. These are the experiences I wish to provide to my future clients. I have experience in homebirths, birth centers & hospital settings. I understand that ones birthing journey is a sacred space, and wish to only support and offer any resources that may help aid in this time. Rebecca was very thorough in the education she provided to us as first time parents in the lead up to the birth. There were 4 in depth sessions which were really appreciated and learned tons during. It alleviated some nervousness around giving birth. During the birth, she came over just before the baby was born at the hospital and gave me a massage and really helped advocate for my wishes as predefined in the birth plan (which she helped me develop). After the baby was born, we had a few additional sessions with her. She brought over bone broth, did a baby massage, and really made the day special for me with a tray of yummy treats. Additionally, she did a closing of the bones ceremony. It's really when i realized that in becoming a mom I went through a transition and a change that was more than I really understood pre-birth. I remain super grateful to Rebecca for the wonderful care she provided me during our time together. Thank you for all the training and education prior to the birth and in taking care of me post partum. I wished I had more time with her!

Hi, I'm Kristin Guess! My journey into birth work began when I attended a DONA International workshop in 2018. After supporting my first birth, I knew that doula work was exactly where I belonged. I remember driving home with a huge smile, filled with a sense of joy and awe—as if I had witnessed one of life’s greatest secrets: the arrival of a new being, full of possibility. No matter how unique each experience is, that feeling of wonder never fades. It is truly an honor and privilege to be present for such a profound moment in people’s lives. I was born and raised just outside of Sacramento and spent 2 years after high school living in Germany before making my way to the Bay Area for college. During the pandemic years, I moved to Portland, Oregon. The Pacific Northwest is beautiful, but California is where my heart is. I’m now excited to get to call Half Moon Bay home. I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to support Bay Area families once again. As a DONA-certified, evidence-based doula, my role is to help you feel informed, empowered, and at ease throughout your birthing journey. I love working with birthing people and becoming a team to create an environment that feels safe and one where you feel heard and respected. I believe deeply in individualized support and the importance of continuing education.   In my free time you can find me biking or walking the HMB Coastal Trail, listening to a podcast, gardening, watercoloring or baking some sourdough.

We had the most magical natural unmedicated birth experience in a hospital and we owe so much of it to Gretchen. Right from our first interaction when we were interviewing birth doulas, we were drawn by her warm nature. Her prenatal visits were extremely helpful be it the exercises she taught us to enable an optimal baby position for birth or her inputs into crafting our birth plan. We would have been lost with the information overload if not for her timely, targeted and super informative educational resources that have been extremely helpful to us as first time parents. She has always been a text or phone call away to address anything we needed. She brought in a sign of relief when she entered the labor room...her calming presence during my final stretch of labor and the positions she guided me through definitely helped me avoid an epidural. The icing on the cake was her singing a lullaby to our little one upon birth, it felt divine. She also captured beautiful moments of our baby's birth that we will cherish forever. I will always remember her positive affirmation 'You are stronger than you think!'. Can't thank you enough Gretchen for being the rockstar that you are and all your support to growing families :)

We interviewed a TON of people (12+ humans), we spoke to folks at several agencies as well as night nurses on care.com. We finally found Sally, our postpartum doula that we felt would be a great fit and I cannot recommend her highly enough. Sally was gentle, calm, kind and focused on my recovery as mom as well as making sure our newborn was fully cared for. She was flexible with whatever setup we wanted; however, in my case, I didn't know what to do (had no idea the "best way" to do the nighttime routine), so I asked for her advice, and she helped us set up a WONDERFUL routine. She was the best thing for our family postpartum. Anyone would be lucky to be able to work with her and get her support.

October 2026

Working with Katelyn was hands down the best decision we made for our birth and postpartum journey. She was truly irreplaceable, and I honestly know I wouldn’t have had such a successful, positive birth experience without her. From the start, Katelyn prepped both my husband and me so thoroughly that we felt confident going into labor. When a preeclampsia diagnosis completely threw our original expectations out the window, Katelyn didn't miss a beat. She immediately helped us pivot and had a brand-new birth plan ready, guiding us through every shift with calm, compassionate expertise. Her care didn't stop in the delivery room, either. As someone navigating postpartum anxiety, Katelyn was an absolute lifeline. She helped us ease into newborn sleep schedules, patiently answered our endless questions, and gave us so much peace of mind during those vulnerable early weeks. If you are looking for a doula who is knowledgeable, adaptable, and deeply supportive, hire Katelyn immediately. We are forever grateful for her!

October 2026

As first-time parents, my husband and I had no idea how to prepare and understand the complexities around the hospital, birth preferences and how to manage my overall pregnancy. Katelyn was an absolute angel, she came in with so much knowledge and helpful resources, helping us feel prepared and giving us peace of mind during our journey. Postpartum, she was available for overnight support which gave me a few extra hours of sleep that were very much appreciated with a newborn. We truly could not recommend her enough!
