Parents: please share your EDD & contact info in the message body šŸ™šŸ¾ Birth doula of 13 years. This is my calling in life to be of service to labor/birth. I’m very grateful to have this as my service in this lifetime and believe every new life is a gift to be honored with care, love and respect for the process. Trained in techniques that encourage optimal fetal positioning by finding balance in the body (more comfort during pregnancy as well as labor/birth) optimal positioning helps labor be more comfortable, increasing odds of a efficient and smoother vaginal birth. I share these techniques with my clients in the third trimester to decrease the use of interventions & prevent trauma. Also practicing placenta encapsulation and massage therapy at Full Moon Birth & Family Wellness Center.

We had the most magical natural unmedicated birth experience in a hospital and we owe so much of it to Gretchen. Right from our first interaction when we were interviewing birth doulas, we were drawn by her warm nature. Her prenatal visits were extremely helpful be it the exercises she taught us to enable an optimal baby position for birth or her inputs into crafting our birth plan. We would have been lost with the information overload if not for her timely, targeted and super informative educational resources that have been extremely helpful to us as first time parents. She has always been a text or phone call away to address anything we needed. She brought in a sign of relief when she entered the labor room...her calming presence during my final stretch of labor and the positions she guided me through definitely helped me avoid an epidural. The icing on the cake was her singing a lullaby to our little one upon birth, it felt divine. She also captured beautiful moments of our baby's birth that we will cherish forever. I will always remember her positive affirmation 'You are stronger than you think!'. Can't thank you enough Gretchen for being the rockstar that you are and all your support to growing families :)

It’s an honor to support families during such a transformative time, and I’m grateful to be part of this work.

We are so grateful for our amazing doula! From the very beginning, she was incredibly responsive and always made herself available to meet with us in person, which made a huge difference compared to virtual support. She answered all of our questions with patience and expertise, and guided us through choosing the right baby products, which was so helpful as first-time parents. When I was unexpectedly hospitalized for five weeks due to a pregnancy complication—placenta previa that later transformed into vasa previa—she went above and beyond to support us. She went to our home and packed my hospital bag, making sure I had everything I needed. She also helped us with buying a stroller after discovering that our original choice wasn’t compatible with our car seat, and even installed the car seat for us. Throughout my hospital stay, she visited me regularly, offering comfort and reassurance during a very difficult time. The birth ultimately resulted in a 1.5-hour C-section due to the vasa previa condition. She was there when I woke up, feeling extremely sick and overwhelmed, and I truly don’t know what I would have done without her emotional and mental support for both me and my husband. Her presence and guidance made us feel supported and empowered throughout the entire process. In the postpartum period, she continued to be an incredible resource. She came to our home, offered advice on caring for our baby, and helped us install and learn how to use several products we had bought or received but had no idea how to use. Her hands-on support and practical guidance made a world of difference as we adjusted to life with our newborn. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better doula. She was our guardian angel, and we are so grateful she came into our lives. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for exceptional care and support during pregnancy, birth, and beyond.

My partner and I took 3-part hypnobirthing class with Klarity. It was very personalized, holistic and gave us homework and told to practice for months leading up to birth. We were also fortunate for Klarity to be our doula. Our baby came very early and Klarity didn't skip a beat, shifting her schedule around to be present with us that day and through the birth. Her calm, grounded presence and experience working alongside medical team was invaluable and I felt well supported. I'm very grateful to have had the opportunity to have Klarity in our both team and highly recommend her to others.

Hi, I'm Kristin Guess! My journey into birth work began when I attended a DONA International workshop in 2018. After supporting my first birth, I knew that doula work was exactly where I belonged. I remember driving home with a huge smile, filled with a sense of joy and awe—as if I had witnessed one of life’s greatest secrets: the arrival of a new being, full of possibility. No matter how unique each experience is, that feeling of wonder never fades. It is truly an honor and privilege to be present for such a profound moment in people’s lives. I was born and raised just outside of Sacramento and spent 2 years after high school living in Germany before making my way to the Bay Area for college. During the pandemic years, I moved to Portland, Oregon. The Pacific Northwest is beautiful, but California is where my heart is. I’m now excited to get to call Half Moon Bay home. I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to support Bay Area families once again. As a DONA-certified, evidence-based doula, my role is to help you feel informed, empowered, and at ease throughout your birthing journey. I love working with birthing people and becoming a team to create an environment that feels safe and one where you feel heard and respected. I believe deeply in individualized support and the importance of continuing education.Ā   In my free time you can find me biking or walking the HMB Coastal Trail, listening to a podcast, gardening, watercoloring or baking some sourdough.Ā

Hi, I’m Sofia. I’m a birth and postpartum doula trained through The Circle Family Center, a certified 500-hour yoga teacher with six years of experience specializing in pre and postnatal yoga, and a trained mindfulness childbirth educator through the Mindfulness Childbirth Class with Nancy Bardacki. My work integrates mindfulness, embodiment, and evidence-based education to support parents through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with confidence, clarity, and calm. When people feel supported and safe, their bodies are better able to move out of the fight flight freeze response and into a more grounded, responsive state. This shift allows labor to unfold more smoothly and helps parents stay present and connected throughout the process. I meet each client where they’re at, honoring the full spectrum of birth preferences and experiences with compassion, presence, and care. As a mother to a three-year-old, I bring both personal insight and professional experience to my work, offering guidance that is informed, empathetic, and deeply rooted in lived experience.

I cannot express how grateful I am for the incredible support I received from Sofia during the birth of my first child. From the moment we connected, it felt like it was meant to be. She was everything I didn’t even know I needed and so much more. During labor, especially when unexpected complications arose, she was my anchor. She guided me through every intense moment with such positivity and grounding techniques that I didn’t panic and remained confident in my body. I am sure that because of her support, I was able to avoid a C-section and stay focused on what my body was capable of. She also supported my husband and mother. They also are so grateful. Her compassion, knowledge and advocacy truly are unmatched. She made all of us feel safe, supported, and genuinely cared for. I truly believe my birth experience would have been completely different without her—she transformed it into something I look back on with strength, pride, and deep gratitude. If you are considering a doula, lucky you to have found her. She is phenomenal in every sense of the word, and I feel beyond blessed that she was my doula. I will cherish the impact she had on my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum life forever.

Sarah was an unwavering source of support during one of the most physically and emotionally challenging experiences of my life. After choosing to have an at-home abortion, I found myself in the hospital due to unmanageable pain and later faced complications and prolonged bleeding for over two months. Through it all, Sarah was there—offering not just physical comfort, but deep emotional and mental support. She provided reassurance when I felt scared, advocated for me when I felt unheard, and helped me navigate the overwhelming aftermath with patience and compassion. Her presence was a lifeline, creating a safe space where I could process my emotions without judgment. Whether it was through gentle encouragement, grounding techniques, or simply holding space for my emotions, Sarah made sure I never felt alone in my healing process. I am beyond grateful for her kindness, knowledge, and unwavering care during such a difficult time.
