Hiring Kristen as our doula was the best thing I did for my pregnancy and birth. She made herself available throughout the final few months of my pregnancy via countless texts and phone calls prepared to answer all the wild questions I had about any symptoms or feelings. When I finally went into labor, none of us knew I’d be in it for a whopping 60 hours before my son was in my arms. I could go on and on about all the things she did to help get my son in an optimal position (there were many) but at the end of the day, she was just there for me. There for me when I thought I’d be having an unmedicated birth center birth. There for me when we had to have a c-section instead. And there for me after while I processed it all. She is amazing and I’d hire her again and again and again.

Briauna Donnelly

Hi, I'm Briauna! Birth doula, prenatal yoga instructor, energy worker, and mother. My role is not to tell you how to birth or who you should become. My role is to walk beside you, helping you cultivate trust in yourself, deepen your connection with your baby, and feel supported as you navigate the transition into motherhood. Moms rarely need more information. They need space. Space to slow down, to connect with themselves, to strengthen their relationship with their baby, and to feel seen, heard, and held. When a mother feels supported emotionally, physically, and mentally, she is better able to access her intuition, make decisions aligned with her values, and move through birth and motherhood with greater confidence and ease. This is why my approach centers on the connection between mind, body, and baby. Because when all three are nurtured together, the experience of becoming a mother can feel less overwhelming and more empowering.

As a mommy with a bad 1st birth emergency c-section experience, Briauna was a wonderful blessing this second time around! Her attention to detail, expertise and sympathy made me feel safe and fearless. When it was time to welcome my baby into this world, I had all the confidence and support that I believe every mommy needs and deserves! I can’t stress enough how much I enjoyed having her around in a very beautiful yet vulnerable time in my life.

I am also a yoga and meditation teacher and sound healing practitioner passionate about the journey into and through motherhood. My postpartum care focuses on rejuvenating the mind, body, and spirit using healing foods and herbs, vibrational medicine, breath work, mindfulness, and daily self-care practices; honoring rest, and family bonding. I personalize my offerings for a deeply "centered" approach to preparing for the journey ahead, inviting exploration into one's deep ancestral wisdom and intuitive insight into and through this transformative time. When not actively supporting aspiring, pregnant, and new parents or deepening my practice, you can find me with my hands in the earth, gardening in my backyard, or spending time with her family and our mischievous beagle named Moon. I would love to connect and learn more about your path and explore ways I may fully support you during this very special time in your life.

Service: Labor and Birth Doula Context: Father, 2nd Child, 1st at-home birth Despite our preparations, our first birth taught us that we can always know, prepare, and expect more. We met Julie in our doula interviews early in our preparations, and with our first home-birth, we knew we needed someone with the knowledge to build our trust, the confidence to direct when needed, and the serenity to alleviate our anxieties. Julie brought every one of those to the table, and more! During our first birth, I couldn't help but feel like a third-wheel, understanding key parts of the birth, but serving mostly as an observer, with the occasional comforting words. In preparation for our 2nd, Julie offered both live Q&As, and preparatory, informative, and engaging classes, which helped prepare not only my wife, but myself in both what to expect and how to engage with each part of the birth. Rather than only observing, or waiting for direction, I became an active participant, predicting and understanding my wife's needs, while also being able to adapt as needed. As labor's frequently do, ours started late in the night, and with a quick call, Julie assessed the situation and determined to come over to help, even in the early stages. As a doula, she helped guide us into active labor, recognizing when we hit hurdles, and confidently and calmly discussed alternative positions and practices. Serving not only as doula, she frequently provided updates that would help our midwife determine how far along we were, and stayed by Laura's side through delivery! In the interest of time, I'll end with an appreciation of Julie's ability to frequently bridge the gap when all the participants became a little too single-minded; Julie would swoop in, suggesting breaks, and even cooking up some delicious meals! Even afterwards, Julie visited and brought a smorgasbord of home-cooked foods, taking the weight off of running a household, and letting my wife, my children, and myself, take time to simply be with each other. Thank you so much, Julie, for not only being what my wife needed, but helping me to be the same! P.S. For the Mother's perspective, Laura's review should post soon!

**Bringing Peace, Serenity, & Calm from Preconception Through Pregnancy, Birth & Recovery** Hi, I’m Crystal, a holistic doula, perinatal massage therapist, educator, and guide supporting individuals and families through fertility, pregnancy, birth, and recovery. With over a decade of experience, I offer whole-person care that helps you feel calm, informed, deeply cared for, and confident in the choices you make along the way. I believe these experiences are about more than reaching the next milestone. Whether you're preparing for pregnancy, navigating fertility or infertility, growing your family, preparing for birth, or recovering from pregnancy, your body, mind, and emotional well-being deserve thoughtful support through the transition. My approach brings together bodywork, education, doula care, and personalized guidance to meet you where you are. Some clients come to me for physical relief or support preparing their bodies for what's ahead. Others need help sorting through information, understanding their options, preparing for birth or parenthood, or simply having a calm, knowledgeable person beside them while plans change. There isn't one "right" way to move through fertility, pregnancy, birth, or recovery. My role isn't to fit you into a philosophy or tell you what you should choose. It's to help you understand your options, honor your values, care for your body, and create more peace in whatever season you're navigating. *Because peace of mind comes from understanding your options, not being told what to do.*

Crystal was our doula for both of our children. I could not have made it through two unmedicated labors without her. She was an advocate, a guiding voice, a gentle hand, and knew exactly when to interject humor and empathy when they were needed most.

I entered into the childbirth field for two main reasons. First, I want to empower women through the natural methods of childbirth. I remember the feelings of strength and control that I encountered when I had my three children at home in the presence of midwives. Now, I want to pass this on to other expectant mothers. With my first pregnancy, I was alone and thought about placing my baby with adoptive parents. Then one day, along comes the most incredible woman who ended up changing my life. She was a midwife who said that she would take me on as a client for the fee of $50 (for supplies). Little did I know that she had hoped that a home birth would convince me to keep my baby. Well, her plan was a success and she has given me a gift I have yet to repay. My second reason for getting into the birthing field was because I want to eradicate the general public’s misconceptions about pregnancy and the birthing process. A woman’s pregnant uterus should not be treated as a tumorous growth to be controlled by medicine, but rather a natural event that women have been participating for many years before doctors. In most cases, birth can be accomplished safely and satisfactorily without intervention, such as drugs and surgery. The need for patience must be practiced in the presence of a laboring woman. I believe that each labor and birth is a unique and miraculous experience. I also believe that there is more than one good way to have a baby and that parents should have the proper tools available for effective informed consent and informed refusal. My name is Carisa Niemyer and I work as a doula and doula trainer in Colorado SpringsI found my way into doula work through the birth of my first child. My story didn't go exactly how I wanted and my baby had her own story of how she wanted to be born, as these babes often do. But after my delivery I felt so empowered and supported and loved my story. Much of the reason this was true was because of the support of a doula. That experience led me into the world of birth work and I have now been a doula for 18 years, working in both birth and postpartum, as well as training new doulas at Birthingway College of Midwifery in Portland OR as well as in my own training organization here in Colorado Springs. I am passionate about supporting families in whatever their birth choices are, and believe non-judgemental, continuous support thought a families journey can make all the difference! I have worked with a lot of families over the years and each story has been unique and beautiful. I have experience is both high risk and low risk pregnancies. Hospital births as well as home births. I also have experience with twins and triplets, both in birth and postpartum work. My hope is that each family I work with feels empowered and supported in whatever choices they make as they boldly enter this new season of life!

When I tell my birth story, I always end up singing Carissa's praises! She was there for us as we prepped for the birth of our first son and was by my side throughout labor and delivery. She was so encouraging and grounding and kept me going throughout an extremely exhausting labor process. My homebirth didn't go as expected, and I ended up pushing for over 3 hours at home before I transferred to the hospital and eventually ended up getting a c-section due to really tricky positioning. Carissa was by my side from 7 am to about 1 am the next day when my son finally arrived. At home, Carissa encouraged me, helped me try every position imaginable to encourage my baby to come down, and helped my husband know how to best support and love me. When we transferred, Carissa was by my side the whole time, explaining things to me and helping us make choices for each next step. When we finally went in for our C-section, I was able to pick one other person to be there, aside from my husband, and Carissa was the obvious choice (even over my sister and my midwife, both whom I adore, of course!). Carissa also took the most amazing photos with one of our phones during the surgery and I'm so thankful to have those memories! She was there for me in recovery and helped my son latch for the first time and continued to be a support to me in postpartum. I tell ALL of my friends who are having babies to hire Carissa, and of course, it was a no-brainer that she would be by my side as I deliver my second baby in a matter of weeks! If you're looking for a doula, look no further!

Hi, I’m Christina Nurse. Doula. Educator. RYT 200. Mother. Air Force Veteran. And a lifelong student of the sacred unfolding of birth. I believe birth is a threshold—a place where time softens, the soul speaks, and the body remembers how to open. My journey began in the hospital, serving birthing people as a labor and postpartum nurse. There, I witnessed both the strength of the human spirit and the ways modern care can overlook the deeper layers of the birthing experience—the heart, the spirit… the knowing. What I longed to offer was more than clinical care. I wanted to blend evidence-based practice with intuition—to hold space for both the science and the soul of birth. So I stepped out of sterile rooms and into the sacred work of bridging that gap—and founded Nest & Soul. Text 719-370-9335 to connect!

Christina was my doula for my third birth and I am beyond happy with the care she provided my baby and myself before, during and after my delivery. After having a traumatic birth experience with my second, I knew I wanted to hire a doula as extra support for my third birth. Christina met and exceeded all of my expectations: she gave me tools to mentally prepare for my third birth that lead to me having my most beautiful birth yet. I especially loved that she wasn’t negative towards me getting an induction when it became medically necessary, and she supported me every step of the way. Her education and additional certifications provided me with information and options that I believe prevented unnecessary interventions. She is not only extremely wise, but also professional and kind. I’m so happy I made the decision to have her as my doula, and I will be recommending her to everyone I know!

Meldyn is a true joy to work with. I wish I had worked with her for the birth of my first-it wasn’t a great experience and think she could have made all the difference in the world. I’m so thankful she helped me with the birth of my second child. It was such a beautiful experience. She was there for me leading up to the birth, during, and afterward offering helpful advice and encouragement. I credit her with helping me have quick labor and delivery and helping me avoid a C-section. It was a beautiful birth and all I had hoped for. I believe much of that is from working with her and planning what we could together. She is so knowledgeable and has a calming, supportive energy. I highly recommend Meldyn and would ask her if she’d be my doula if I had another baby. She is a gifted doula and wonderful person.

I’ve worked with Marya as a Labor and Delivery nurse for 3 years and she has been a true mentor and inspiration in the birthing world. I can attest that she has had such a positive and proud impact on each patient she has cared for. Better yet she was able to mentor and coach me through my own pregnancy and provided wonderful care to me and my family during my prenatal, labor, and postpartum period. I was blessed to be able to receive body work throughout my pregnancy and at the same time she coached me through all of the doubts in my mind about what could go wrong. Needless to say she gave me the tools to have a wonderful and empowering birthing experience!
