My passion for birth work began long before I knew what a doula was. I’ve always been drawn to mothers and deeply curious about pregnancy, how it transforms the body, mind, and spirit. I grew up knowing my mother’s birth stories by heart, and even then I sensed that she deserved more compassionate care and stronger advocacy. In college, a course called Pregnancy and Power opened my eyes to the realities of the U.S. maternal healthcare system and the consequences of highly medicalized childbirth.
